@@StreetHeem If you don't have any codes it's most likely your combination meter. I replaced mine and it fixed it.

@@eventide5727 i had a code. i had someone clear it but the manual mode stopped working again a day later. so do you think i should replace the shifter assembly?

@@StreetHeem Most likely, yes it's the shifter assembly in that case, if you have a Manual Mode Switch code. You could remove it and check for loose wiring. Usually it's the micro switches in the shifter. I've read people clean them and have it work again. I checked mine with a multi-meter.

Well it has to deal with what connection you have in the original mine was already done aftermarket when I got the car so I just used volt meter and seen what was running to what then I rewired it from there

idk if u figured it out but its not that hard, foot on break and gas. the car will rev. the trick is to let of the break SLOWLY while still holding on to the gas. and your tires should start to spin (U NEED A RWD) if you move, you need to push in the break a little more so your car locks in but still the wheels spin. and u should be able to start doing burnouts. to drift, i like to start in a burnout, then let the break out a little and start turning the wheel

@@wavosito you're giving instructions on burnouts...he wants to know drifts. To properly drift an automatic you will need to completely turn off VDC, drive the car in sport shift mode so you have control over the gear, and your drift initiations are limited because you don't have a hydraulic handbrake nor a clutch to clutch kick. At that point, your initiations are limited to using throttle abd turning to break the wheels free, followed by countersteering and throttle control. But if you really want to drift, you should install a handbrake, get an angle kit to increase your steering, and use a manual transmission But in the rain, drifting is easy. Don't get caught ..police can take your car

How did you fix it? My EX has the same issue... I feel like the linkage between the shifter and the transmission got broken or disconnected.

Ryan Rodriguez could possibly never dealt with that code for my car so I wouldn't know if it would fix it or not maybe changing out the shifter might get rid of it

They were 19" tsw rims with 245 40 19 in the front 245 45 19 in the rear and stock motor with just an aftermarket intake

Xavier Mcvea you can either mod your ECU and unplug your abs module like one of my friend did or you can pull the fuses for both the vdc and abs and see if that works don't actually know if that will work but I do know that modding/tuning your ECU you get more power and it removes the ability to have those to interfere with your car again but other than that I would have to say weld your diff if you want to have both tires spinning or your gonna be like me when I tried it

Reeso Doe I'm not saying it's a good idea but on the dash near the trunk button there's a vdc button to have to press that button and then it turns off slip and abs

Scott Gervais The only way to fully disable the traction control (when vdc is off the traction control will still kick in) you have to remove some sensors by taking off the center console theres videos online showing the process its easy

Dioriz Ramirez the 03 - 04 year model shifter is different from the 05 - 07 model they changed the electronics in the shifter within those years they will still work as a shifter but the manual shift will not work at all

I found a 2007 shifter would that work for my 2005 g35 coupe

Well for my car since I haven't welded the diff I only pressed the vdc button but once you weld the diff then you'd wanna disconnect the abs module under the cup holder
