@@Fishing4Reel i feel that. Might add onto a telescopic rod and put 6-8 lb line if it allows it. Just a nifty little setup for on the go fishing at my local river

@@Slimedone4evr That sounds like a handy setup. 6 will probably work better on this tiny reel, but use what you feel comfortable with. I recently got a small Diawa like this that works well too. I've got a few trout fishing videos where I try different techniques. NRV Outdoors has a ton of videos about trout fishing. Good luck!

@@carltonbailey489 maybe it was a big black drum. I know it was big 😂. I've never hooked into one so don't know how they fight. When fishing from a boat and you hook a big fish, touching the leader is considered a landed fish. So maybe when fishing from a bridge, touching the fish with the net we should consider it a landed fish. 😉

This made me wonder if you can salt nightcrawlers or red worms? It's mighty hot. The feels like today is 122 degrees.🔥

Unfortunately, a lot of newer products by many companies are built cheaper than the older stuff.

@@jeffmcconniel2838 I know. He meant well, but I'm not a total amateur. My concern was if he got that braid wrapped around a finger and that fish when on a power run, he could lose some finger.

Nope. I found one of mine the other day I forgot to secure. The finish was a little marred from a 1 ounce egg sinker. Maybe no big thing, but the slightest damage to the structure can lead to rod failure with a big fish.

That's why you have to show her this video and take her with you when you go shopping for them. Maybe have her mark them by biting the finger tab. LOL

This is mainly for large egg sinkers on a Carolina Rig. They tend to be in the middle of the rod during transport and can rattle against the rod a bit. Here, along the coast, it is normal to drive to and from the beach or pier with all your rods in the beach/pier cart in the back of your truck or cart carrier. Those sinker can beat the snot out of a rod at 40 to 70 miles per hour. I still wrap my line around the rod to contain it too. Also, I used to think rod socks were a gimmick until I tried them. They are fantastic for transporting your rods and avoiding tangles especially through brushy areas.

It works well. Got to find the right size though. Too big just slides off. I'm not well versed in the shopping for hair clips.
