Roger Di Paolo - Video Oral History

Roger gave this oral history in Dec. 2019. It is an excellent view of his family and his life as only Roger could tell it. It is all the more poignant now that Roger has passed. As you hear in this video Roger had a very rich life filled with family, friends, and his town.

This is a thesis presented by my student Matt Janke in 1992 at Kent State University. Sorry, it's a bit fuzzy but it was shot on VHS which was never that sharp to begin with. I'm posting it because I think the works were and are excellent sculptures. Matt is still making art today in Atlanta, Georgia.

April 1992 José gave a workshop at Kent State University. He demonstrated his unusual casting technique as well as his blowing and copper inclusion technique. This is the video of that workshop. It is very informative. The ending is a great surprise.

I made this Video in 1989 in the then Czechoslovakia right before the expulsion of the Soviet occupation. The video shows the then Libensky/Brychtova studio in the basement of a residence in Zelezny Brod. Video shot on VHS in 1993 during the GAS conference in Toledo, Ohio. This video is a tour of Jack Schmidt and Shawn Messenger's studio in Toledo. The second part of this is of Nick Labino's studio. Nick had passed away in 1987 but his studio was relatively untouched. At the time it was occupied by Baker O'Brian.
GAS II

This is the only know video record of the GAS II meeting at the Penland School in 1972. I shot it on super 8 film and it was transferred to VHS tape by the CMoG many years ago. +GaryECampbell Glad you liked it Gary. It's been a blast all these years. A few in that video are gone but most are still hanging around. All up in our 70's.
Wunderle's are my second cousins. Leonard and Cox streets are named after my grandpa in Brady Lake. My other grandpa worked for the Erie RR.
