helpful video ! thx
is this General ??? 3d sculpting??
Ist der Drucker echt 9 Jahre alt?
I've seen a lot of great reviews about flsun's printers lately. I'm interested in the T1Pro, but I can't find it in your store. Do you plan to stock it?
Wwwwwwwwwww
Nice. Thanks for making the video. Any opinion on solidworks texture editing feature people are using to do this. Is this still your prefered method?
you are a legend!!! THANKYOU finally someone with a good vid!
@@fuzzynippys so happy to hear that it was helpful!

wow!
Makes sense, great job Alex and team.
Thanks! We are always happy to share projects like this!
this was perfect, thank you!
Glad it helped!
I followed the steps carefully but after I load the image nothing happens, no texture is applied, I loaded several STL files but nothing happens. What can be the cause?..
Hey there could you help me 😅, i have stl files wich schould have a digital paint on them but if i port them into blender they are white.

this video is actually so helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Man, this is EXACTLY the Tutorial i was hunting for the last months - because i don´t need baking tutorials for Games i needed this one for 3D printing projects. THX a lot! 😃
Glad that it was helpful!
That is truly awesome. Even the ability to crop out unwanted data and establish a base datum is incredibly fast. Great advancement in technology.
The FreeScan Combo is a game changer for speed and quality, glad that you liked the video!
why it has effect around object & arm which looks similar than AR videos has.. Sorry but its looking fake due that weird video effect
Used them many times for reverse engineering and 3D modelling. They were able to send a solid file for our company to machine and produce molds for the packing industry. World class and super friendly!
Thanks @bwilliams1815, we always enjoy collaborating with you!
where can i get FFF file for my anker make M5 printer please ?
We don't work with that printer, but we would start the search in user forums of other users. Sometimes, you can also get lucky just by asking the manufacturer directly. Good luck!
good stuff
Thank you! It is always nice to get positive feedback =)
Very informational for newbies like me. Is there a surface template for a crochet/knitted texture? TIA!
Happy to hear that it was helpful! Unfortunately, we don't have a knitted texture readily available for sharing at the moment.
Can the imported STL with the triangles every become a normal solidworks solid or is it like that for the rest of its life through a project? What happens if you wanted to turn it into a solidworks part, how can you do it?
Great question! It will remain like this in SOLIDWORKS. The only way to convert the file is to fully reverse engineer the part. This is usually a manual process where you recreate the part 1 feature at a time. Some software plugins can help, we recommend Mesh 2 Surface for SOLIDWORKS.
Is there a way to produce brighter colors with dark base material?
Hi Naveed, our dyes are semi-translucent and allow the base color of the material to come through slightly. To brighten the surface color of a dark base material you would need a coating or a paint, which is a fundamentally different approach to adding color that usually requires individual part preparation rather than batch processing like our Dye system.
@@3dchimera ohh okay thank you so much for the info!
Colors look vibrant. About how high a temperature can the color hold before any fading? Booth looks great! Brian
Great question! We have not run a test on that one. Let's run an experiment together 🧪 🥼... shoot me a private message about your requirements.
Will send it to your regular email.
would it be better to put the subd modifier before the displace?
We have not tried that approach. Give it a shot and let us know what you think in the comments here.
you dont need someone to stay still for 5 hours with straws in their noses - that is ridiculous. 40 min tops - and no straws ... for the molding process.
Fair enough, but the 3d scanning process is 5-10min, so still a huge savings in time for most cases.
nice - done a tutorial with Sine and Arctan in Shader Nodes to fake-displace, this is useful to print ♥
Happy that it was helpful for you!
Do you have a passion project that you've wanted to use 3D scanning for? Let us know in the comments below!

Thats sick
Glad that you liked it! Making specialty tools is one of our favorite ways to utilize additive technologies.
Great story. He can also scale up with Alex and the team if he needs more parts. We use 3D Chimera for scanning to produce data the machine production molds from steel and aluminum. Great resource over the years!
Thanks for the shout out, we always enjoy working on projects with you and your team! And you are definitely right, DC5 Association is planning to scale up simply by 3D printing more identical tools to produce additional parts in parallel.
Great video Alex!
Glad that you liked it!
AMAZING WORK! you guys are the best...
🙌Thanks for working with us on this project! 🔥
Have you experimented with 3D printing for mold making yet? Let us know in the comments below!
Is there a video for isolating the top layer?
We don't have one on that at the moment, but we will share your comment with the content team for a potential future video.
Looks great. How is it with supports? Having some issues with internal supports. Very hard to remove without damaging certain parts. Surface quality looks good.
The support settings can be dialed in for easy removal in just about every material. For internal supports it is always best to utilize a dissolvable support material.
Turkish subtitles pls ❤🎉
how do you scale the texture if it is too dense or sparse?
We will try to include that in a future video.
is there a way to make it save as actual geometery? It doesn't save with STP files.
In SOLIDWORKS, 3D Textures is currently only available for mesh-data.
Now 3d print a nerf revolver
Nice! Sounds awesome.
🔥 'promosm'
👍👍👍👍
Nice video, would have loved to see it sliced and printed
thank you for this video )) I'm intersted in sls 3d printing technologiy and I have some other questions if you can answer ... 1 --- can we print food safe plastics like PET or PA6 ? and are they safe like we can do this in FdM BUT it's still not safe unfortunatly. 2--- I've seen that test of strength well compared to the fdm technology of cours sls is far away better but can we really compare it to moulded parts especially those with a thin geometry .
Glad to learn that this video was helpful for you! 1) There are many new materials getting released everyday for SLS, and the melt temps for PET and PA6 should be in the typical SLS window. I think food safe will be a challenge, but it is probably possible under really controlled conditions. 2) SLS parts are definitely comparable to injection molding, and you can often take advantage of geometry that is impossible to mold for even extra strength in a very similar footprint for a part. Good luck with your printing! If you need more info email alex@3dchimera.com
I am using the newest version of blender. Downloaded 12/5/22. I can follow and understand up till the part where you apply texture, then select object then plane. I don't have the options that you have? Not sure what to do here, and am very new to blender.
That is always a challenge with a tool like Blender that is getting updated all the time. Wishing you the best!
Great product 🎉
@Sintratec Thank you! All of the parts we dyed for this video were printed on your S2 machine from PA12 nylon.
This method only works with curved surfaces with many vertices. It doesn't apply to planar faces because the effect is only at vertices.
For anyone reading, you could subdivide your plane if you're not getting enough vertices or use the voxel remeshing tool from the sculpt panel. A plane doesn't have to be an efficient 4 vertices, it can be subdivided to fit the complexity of the geometry needed.
He should actually be putting the subdivide modifier Above, and choose simple. Alternatively, some CAD software like Rhino has mesh options for maximum edge length. Set that to your minimum feature size, and you'll get a really nice even mesh (it will be Heavy). As you've noticed, displacement modifier will do nothing without the vertices to move, which is why adding a subdivision modifier after is just "smoothing" it by sort of blurring the results. Adding it first will make it more smooth And correct. Be sure to change it to simple first. And disable the displacement modifier before you add it first. Check the size of the resulting mesh, THEN enable it again.
