5.11 Moab 10 Review
Got me a new sling pack! Like it a lot. Works well for work and for concealed carry.

The trauma kit (not first aid kit) I carry with me everywhere. Designed for management of major traumatic injuries, not boo-boos (that is a separate kit).

    Haven't gotten it out yet, but I mailed 5.11 for advice and they don't recommend you taking it out, since it's there for protecting the water bladder. However, I've also been in contact with their European division and they say that you remove it by bending one of the sides of the bottom of the plate and then take it out - it is suppose to be very flexible and gets back into shape after a while.

    Same problem, how do you get the plate out?

  • @DevilGodMan
    @DevilGodMan 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you tried to remove the plastic back plate? Can't get mine out of there, feels like it's been sewn in there and not made for removal.

    I forgot to mention, I have a Maxpedition Doppelduffel and my Moab 10 attaches to it perfectly with the attachment system that came with the Moab 10

  • @Ffaide

    I have one of these, and Ive carried it for almost a year now. I use it as my EDC, Work Bag and Trave Bag (Obviously, I have to remove certain things when I fly, but I just throw them in my checked bag). I dont have any problems with the strab rubbing my neck, even when loaded, on long treks. As someone else mentioned, adjusting the strap tension is key for comfort. I love this thing.

    @medic2807 I may be wrong but I though that 5.11 makes their stuff in China now. This was said by the LA Police Gear website who said prices were going up on 5.11 items due to labor costs in China, etc. etc. I own two of their bags (the Rush packs, not the Push) and I love them. Just saying, a lot of people think the stuff is made here, as did I, but I'm pretty sure everything is made in China now. If I'm wrong please let me know.

    nice review. glad to see someone tell it like it is. you should have mentioned the price of each bag, even though you traded for yours. i have the colossus also and i dont feel it was worth the money. made in taiwan... for $130 it should not only include a water bottle pouch but for that much money it should come with the kid who made it. lol

    I tighten the strap on the Moab 10 so it doesnt ride the neck. This is not a pack to really load up and have full. I like the Janis pack added!

    I just got a MOAB 10 today and compared to the fit of my PUSH Pack, the MOAB feels very uncomfortable. Mainly the way it rides on the side of my neck. Did you notice this?

    @Ech0Sierra Oh sorry, didn't know you were Belgian, countycomm has a US only policy... try LCM Labs' baby soda bottles. They're basically 35ml tube vaults.

  • @Ech0Sierra
    @Ech0Sierra 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @derfy26 go to countycomm and look for their tube vault under the tools section, their 50ml tube vaults are nearly unbreakable and food/pharmaceutical grade. They come with screw on caps too, way better than the stoppers/corks on test tubes.

  • @Ech0Sierra
    @Ech0Sierra 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @derfy26 How large are the vials? I use 500 and 1000ml bottles of sterile saline and sterile water for wound irrigation. Most of the smaller items I reserve for eye wash.

    Like the review, and the AL CAPONE cigars!- looks like the buckles on the 5.11 pack are covered or wrapped in a sock of some kind presumably to keep out dirt/debris, a good idea.

    how much retention is there for the waterbottle, doesnt look like there is anything to prevent it from falling out if your moving around alot, pretty nice bag all in all.
