Motorcycle content, rides, tips, and how to's from an average adventure motorcycle rider with a way above average passion for riding and the riding community.
Hi! I'm Owen. i came to the motorcycle world late in life, but I'm enjoying making up for lost time!! Subscribe to my channel for videos of my rides, how to's, some of the gear I use, and even some install videos of things I install on my bikes.
My current rides are a 2020 Africa Twin Adventure Sports, and a 2022 BMW 1250 GS. I'm down for any road trip that involves motorcycles. I enjoy attending events, and meeting new riders along the way. I've got 50,000km under my belt since I started riding in 2020 and that number is going up all the time!!! Favourite thing to do is to head out on Multi-day or multi week trips that involve paved roads, dirt roads, and some two track. Camping or hotels, I can adapt depending on the trip. I'll always reply to comments, and help out in anyway I can!!

Lone Rider Luggage Review: The Perfect Adventure Motorcycle Setup?
Welcome back! In this latest video, I'm excited to share my latest gear upgrade: the Lone Rider semi-rigid luggage setup for both my Africa twin and my GS. In this review, I'm covering my thoughts and everything you need to know about these versatile panniers that bridge the gap between hard and soft luggage. If you're thinking about your next gear purchase or want to enhance your riding setup, this video is a must-watch!
⚠️ Disclaimer, as I said in this video, I am an ambassador for Lone Rider so they provided me with these bags at no charge. This in no way affects my opinion of their luggage, as they have been a brand I've wanted to try for a long time.
⚠️ This video is not sponsored by Lone Rider, and the thoughts and opinions are my own. ⚠️
What's Inside This Video:
- First Impressions: A quick overview of the build quality and design features.
- Durability Test: Real-world review after taking these bags on my latest adventure.
- Pros & Cons: To help you decide whether Lone Rider luggage is right for you.
Why Choose Lone Rider?
In my opinion, Lone Rider luggage offers the perfect blend of flexibility, durability, and security for adventure motorcycles. With their semi-rigid design, you get the best of both worlds. If you're wanting to run soft luggage for additional safety offroad, but want some of the benefits of hard luggage, I'd highly recommend chacking these out!!
If you found this review helpful, don't forget to give it a thumbs up and share it with fellow riders. Your feedback matters to me, so let me know in the comments if there's anything I missed or if you have any questions!!!

That's a pretty sick setup for sure
thank you! I really like them, they suit my style of motorcycle travel very well
Good point
Woohoo live
enjoy!!
Insta have updated the app and its now quite a bit different, no stabilisation for a start. the version here in this video is much better then the new one
@@stehume I’m gonna have to go update my app now to see what they did!!
Iconic rd , much better on a Motorcycle .
@@theadventurecooperative such a great road to ride!!! If only they’d open it up to only bikes for a day or two lol
Love your style. Hope to see you next season.
@@theadventurecooperative I really appreciate that!! And you definitely will!
Wow that's way bigger than I thought. Getting closer to considering this destination.
@@theadventurecooperative you guys have to make the trip North!!! It’s incredible
Adding a 360 to my kit soon! can't wait to get that extra cool footage!
You gotta have one!!! The ability to film multiple angles all at once is a game changer, let alone some of the neat 360 tricks to change up your content anytime you like
Hell ya! Thanks for that. Getting one
@ Insta360 has their Black Friday sale on right now!
Ive been there. Very cool place to stop along the way!!
Such a cool place!
I just purchased the X4. Thanks for the video. I'm a little intimidated on how to go about getting video but very stoked to get my hands wet.
Glad it helped!! It definitely takes some getting used to, but gets easier with practice!
@ will make sure to check out your other videos. I want to set up a in car view. As well as use this as a pov when I'm wrapping. Thin it should be able to handle all the things.
@@Wasab58 I appreciate that!!
Kinda cool 👍🏻
@@Crittermoto whenever you make the trip North it’s worth a stop!!
So neat!
@@adv2go it’s a very cool spot to check out!! Signs from literally EVERYWHERE!
Very cool!
@@MyADV360 thank you!
I like that overhead shot that you did of your Mac. Perhaps some shots of your studio set-up sometime? :) Any hey, how are you filming your screen and hands? That's pretty neat. Nice video. Now I have a greater appreciation for what Andrew does with our 360 footage! Very cool!
I should definitely do a studio tour once i complete setting it up!! For the screen and hands I just had my sony setup in front of me, on the desk, between me and my macbook
What editing software are you using…insta told me that it was only mobile phone supported.
@ they have a version for your laptop as well (MacBook for me) the Insta360 studio. If you’ve never used it it should prompt you to install it if you try to upload footage from an Insta360
Hey 👋 Thanks for the video. Q… Do you know how to separate the audio out from the visual footage? I’m also struggling to see how to fade out the sound of any small trimmed video. I found it easy to do on “iMovies” but not on the insta360 app. Thanks 🙏
So I seperate my audio and do any audio editing in the video editing software I’m using (currently CapCut) I don’t believe you can do it in the insta360 studio
@ O I’ve heard of capcut. Thanks 🙏 I’ll check it out. Let you know how I get on.
@ CapCut is a great easy to use editing software that sits right in between IMovie, and your higher end editing software such as DaVinci resolve/adobe premiere pro
This is the entry level of editing you can do with these 360 cameras, there’s more features and options are endless with these things!!
I’m going to have to stop by and get a tutorial on your editing program. The widows one I usually use is no longer happy with my iPhone videos. So I have been unable to put out content since I use my iPhone for everything.
Absolutely!! Capcut is pretty simple, if I can use it anyone can lol
That's great Owen, congrats 👏
@@MyADV360 thank you!! 🙌🏼🙃
Woot woot! Awesomeness dude!
@@Crittermoto thanks buddy!
I first need to get rid of this lousy GoPro I use. I need to get a good mount to film Bubba J sitting behind me. I think the next camera I get will be the 360
@@RaptorPackAdventures I’m a big fan of the 360’s!!!
Welcome to our backyard.
@@RaptorPackAdventures you have a beautiful backyard!!
Love the insta 360 but i stuggle with the weight on my gripper mount. Maybe i need to get used to a heavier chin
@@island_moto_adventures I can’t disagree with that, it’s a heavy camera on the chin mount for sure!
Hey Owen. Just found you on Instagram and you brought me here. Looking forward to the content. It appears I have some binge watching to do to get caught up, LOL.
Glad to have ya here!!! I hope you enjoy wht I've uploaded so far. I'm hoping to have new content on here at least every 2 weeks!!

Well done! Shared to the Dirt Chimp Army!
Thanks buddy!!
Looking forward to it all 🤙
@@adv2go thank you!! 🙏🏼
Good stuff Bro! Keep it up!
@@adv2go thanks man!!!
Hey man! Why dont you use the 360 to record all the ride and the one lens on the helmet? So you could enjoy the 360 angles to recap the rides anytime.
@@JeanBrito666 that’s not a bad idea either! And I may try that next season. My most common setup this season was my Insta360 X4 mounted somewhere on my bike, my OneRS mounted on the helmet, and then I’d use the DJI action 4 for everything off the bike. But I think next season I may just stick with one brand or the other to maintain the same colour quality. Not sure which brand that will be yet tho
Looking forward to the content! Its already been a long winter lol
@@traineeadv I agree!! lol 😂
Ya boy!
@@Crittermoto thanks buddy!!!
Just out of curiosity, are you following any creative strategy or program for your content? I really like Think Media, VidIQ, and there's gal Kate or Katie something that talks a lot about how she schedules content.
@@MyADV360 I’ve watched a ton of Think Media and VidIQ!! They have a lot of good tips and clearly know what works. The one tip they all seem to have in common is consistency. So for now I’m going to shoot for every like 10-14 days, mainly because I think that’s achievable and I have enough content and ideas to maintain it throughout the non-riding season for me.
@@MyADV360 I’ve got videos already done and planned ahead to now, which makes it easier to maintain a schedule. It also relieves some pressure if I know I’m approaching that 2 week mark and already have a video or two ready to go. I’ve listened to a lot of their tips on thumbnails and titles too, as well as descriptions. Chat GPT can be a big help with that too.
It’s always interesting for me to see how other people do it. Thanks man!
@@Crittermoto no problem!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Ok that was cool brother 👊 seriously glad someone put it together like this for all the regular folk
@@mkramsauer glad I could help Mike!!!
Thanx! Like seeing and learning some of the behind the scenes stuff 🤙
@@adv2go glad you enjoyed it!!
Personally I'm not a huge fun of 360 camera mount on the helmet because of the fisheye effect. I prefer more natural view of the main camera not even super wide view just wide enough to capture both handlebars and 360 can go anywhere else to capture a bigger field of view. Too much pain to edit 360 footage twice 😆 . 360 footage I usually dump in to studio set it to process in 360 format than reframe in fcpx much easier to keyframe than studio
@@AdventureTravelandScuba that’s fair!! I get that too. I’ve always struggle to get a good angle without the 360, I could “dewarp” the angle tho which would crop it in and eliminate that fish eye look. Since I started editing here I’m noticing how much more I like the color profile from the DJI too, so I may pick up the action 5 to try for next season as my chin mount cam
@@owenlushadv I'm also noticing that the sound quality from DJI with external microphone is so much better versus insta360, I love the colors on insta 360 One Rs with 4K boost lens or 1 inch sensor way more vibrant and intense but DJI battery lasts longer even DJI Osmo action 4 than insta therefore I use now DJI
@@AdventureTravelandScuba yeah I’ll never get rid of my insta360 X4, but my one RS may get replaced by DJI for next season
It was OK, but definitely not better
@@MyADV360 I agree, I thought the angles were interesting, but expected it to be a little more normal for lack of better words.
😮 Sweeeet! 😎
@@MyADV360 thanks! 🙏🏼
Glad you had a safe riding season.
@@gregmve6gcm thanks buddy!
