For a soccer game happening in a baseball stadium, not a real soccer arena and with the amount of fans, i actually thought the vibes and the atmosphere was actually not bad at all.
I agree… we said if it was in a soccer arenas, it’d sound louder, seats won’t be as empty, pitch would look better. I was told, this match in particular, is VERY popular and would LOVE to watch it in a soccer stadium. Thanks for your support! NY is 💙!

I was watching the game on Apple TV (very sad I couldn't go to the actual game since I love Citi Field as a Mets fan and I've been to seven games for NYC FC over the course of the last season and a bit, but the Hudson River Derby's always the game where there are never cheap tickets) and scared my girlfriend on the phone, my parents, and my two dogs when we got that goal in the third minute. Many profuse apologies were offered but that was AWESOME.
Citi Field is an amazing vendor… seen a few games but watched a few concerts as well from the field. Soccer on the other hand, because they didn’t sell most of the upper deck, it felt empty. I can’t wait for the NYCFC to open their new stadium… derby days will be MUCH more intense! NY is BLUE 💙!

Düsseldorf has a 55k seater stadium. So there are clearly a lot of empty seats if only 40k are there. They then sell the blocks next to the away fans last to save on personal. Same with Hannover having 50k seats and 36.5k being there.
just a lot of empty seats... i think earlier in the rückrunde, i saw a lot of IG posts / reddit, that 2.Liga stadiums were selling more tickets than BuLi. that was NOT the case in these 2 matches - i'd like to presume, that F95 would have sold more/most of their tickets as they were in promotion playoff spot.

I did 2 out of these 3 games. I am a Werder fan living close to Düsseldorf so I went to the Fortuna game on friday after work and drove to Bremen with my son the next day. A pity I missed you in Düsseldorf. For sure we would have had a beer ;-)
Dusseldorf is a GREAT city! HOWEVER, there is no atmosphere like Weserstadion that I have experienced so far. Between F95, H96... i'd take Weserstadion 8 out of 7 days per week! would you agree? LBGW 💚🤍 !!
