Nicely done. I was looking into doing highway videos in Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario but saw that you and Asphalt Planet had beaten me to it. So I decided start doing the secondary and back roads of the area. But I'm struggling to get the views. Any tips?
@@G.R.V-v4g first of all, don’t be discouraged from filming certain roads just because someone else already did. That’s not what this is about. It’s not entirely about the specific road you are presenting, it’s mostly about HOW you present it. So don’t feel discouraged just because others have already filmed the said road. The views will come over time as you make more compelling and attractive content. So again, don’t be afraid to post major roads that people are interested in. It takes time to develop a following. Just be unique in how you present the roads and it will come. I suggest joining the FreewayJim group on Facebook if you haven’t already. Not only is it a great community of like minded individuals, but there are also some great resources in there for you to look at. There is also a comprehensive guide in there on how to make road videos. It’s a great place to start!
@@FreewayAndrewCAN Awesome. Thank you for the tips. I didn't hear about the group on FB but I will certainly join. I do enjoy making these videos and look forward to making more as my time permits.
Nice video. I don't have a car but it's definitely a nice drive through the Eastern Townships. I've been in Sherebrooke only a couple of times but it is a very pretty city. Granby's pretty nice as well.
Wow, the A10 sure does go through some beautiful countryside, Awesome Video.
Well done! Both videos you made of this autoroute are really good ones (I prefer musics of the first one :P ), fall drive in this region is always a good moment. Darche interchange work in Sherbrooke seems to move fastly
Thank you! I liked the soundtrack from the last version as well. The soundtrack was a favourite of mine but the footage quality was a little less than ideal with the early morning lighting.
The Eastern Townships Autoroute is a beautiful fall drive. I don't think I've done it eastbound since I filmed my video several years ago. Love the use of Death Cab for Cutie. Nice work on the video.
I’m glad I got the chance to do it again this year a little bit later with better colours. I’m not overly familiar with Death Cab (I only know a few songs by them), but I found another great one for this video!
Some reason you didn't take the A-30 to get to the A-10?
I felt like starting going through Montreal. The traffic wasn’t bad. I’ve already filmed A-30 east so no need to do it again if I don’t have to.
Which camera did you use ? its very HD image
Sony AX-53
Love this. My wife and I drove from Boston to Niagara Falls a few years ago, with an overnight in Albany. Beautiful drive.
The second song sounds like something from Monty Python.
Hi Freeway Andrew. I enjoy your journeys better than some others because you incorporate an arrangement play list, history/facts about the road traveling on, and most of all you provide with information regarding the signage and where off ramps will lead. have you ever considered doing a journey from North Bay, ON to Timmins, ON (HWY 11 north to HWY 101 west) or a journey along HWY 11 north from North Bay, ON to Kapuskasing, ON or further.
Thank you! Maybe at some point, although that’s not high on my list of drives to do. Timmins isn’t off the table though.
If you have time you should visit the northeast us like Boston New York and Philly!
Hopefully someday. I visited Boston a couple years ago, but we didn’t drive sadly.
Wait, where is the episode where you ended in Utica?
We followed a series of backroads from Cooperstown to Utica. I have footage of it, but probably won’t upload it. I’m not sure how I would make a video out of it.
Re: blue lights on vehicles; AFAIK blue marker or signaling lights are reserved for emergency vehicles only. I believe those blue reversing lights are for one of these reasons. 1) They are LED lights, and are wired under/over recommend rating 2) Same LED lighting, and camera is picking up in a false spectrum. 3) Some forklifts have a blue light emitting in reverse gear. Usually electric, or low noise producing forklifts. Could be this is an EV vehicle? - Regardless, the driver accidentally left them on before entering public roadways..😮
Thanks for the relaxing ride. It really gave me a chance to relax and think while enjoying the scenery.
Can't beat a ride along Hwy 11 on a beautiful summer evening. Nice work on the video.
Another Great Trip. Happy New Years
Quite a way to close out the year. I like it.
There’s actually one more coming. Stay tuned!
Love your choice of "The Runner" for this video, Andrew!
I honstly wondered about what happened to that video since it got taken down. Merry Christmas btw 🎅🎁
@alexishoude4449 it got blocked months ago and I had planned on reuploading it, but never got around to it. Finally did today. Merry Christmas to you as well!
1:54 Muskoka Road 3 is the old alignment of Highway 11.
Very nice video. Of all the times we travelled along that highway we always either came off of or turned off of Highway 127 outside Whitney. I hope in the future you can do one going West on 60 from Ottawa to Huntsville. Thanks for the ride and Merry Christmas
Great video. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Always worth stopping at Wilno (around the 28:45 mark). There's a surprisingly large church, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Great scenic views!
Song Request: "End of the Line" by Traveling Wilburys
If you had gone about 3 weeks later, you would have really been in for a treat. In the fall, it is possibly the most colorful drive in Ontario. The Wilno shrine is also one of the most beautiful anywhere too.
I wanted to, however I couldn’t as my work schedule ramped up around the first week of October. I couldn’t find space to do this drive then with good weather too. I had planned to do this drive a week later than I did, but the weather forecast was anything but promising.
You can still see horse drawn carriages in an area of Southern Ontario taken up by Northern Perth County, Southern Wellington County, and Northwestern Waterloo Region where there is a lot of Mennonite people.
Also in Northern Ontario, along Highway 17. Between Massey and Spanish.
I was hoping we would see this eventually... also, Total Eclipse has to be one of the cheesiest songs of all time
Lol. Not my favourite song either, but thought it fit the footage well for some reason.
Starting out with Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good"? Nice...!
Thanks for the shoutout aha! This was a great watch and a great soundtrack. Shame I still haven't made the drive up to Saguenay myself yet, but eventually I'll tick it off the bucket list. I gotta get off the main A-20 / A-40 corridors for once!
2:26 I SAID, "WE MAY HAVE TO BRING IN A FRIEND FROM YONKERS!!!"
21:41 this is definitely my Route 175's favorite part southbound. Is this your last video on your July 27-29 Quebec trip?
For now yes. This is the last major video. I have some other stuff from the same trip but it will probably go up much later.
This drive in any season looks well worth it!
Nice video Andrew! If I might ask, is this your province, or do you live somewhere else in the country? Either way I should really check out more of your content tbh xD
No, I’m from Toronto. I visit Quebec a lot however cause it’s easy to get to. Thanks for watching!
@@FreewayAndrewCAN Parlez-vous Francais?
Not pregnant but you Delivered yet again brotha👏❤
Thanks, lol.
can you go from coopertown to washington
I went to Cooperstown on my way home from New York in 2011
It’s a pretty town. I had been twice before, but on Induction Weekend. So it’s was nice to visit with nobody around and actually enjoy the Hall of Fame and local restaurants.
6:05: "Ajax Business Area Via Salem Road" Funny why the MTO would even bother with that sign as Ajax's so-called "olde business area" is just a suburban plaza (and most of its businesses are along Kingston Rd.).
The "unorthodox" interchange with A-31 is a remnant of when that section of A-40 was the tolled North Shore Autoroute.
4:10: The sign says take Major Mackenzie for Vaughan City Centre is, but its actually along Hwy. 7.
Merci.
The Metropolitaine feels so tight. I know the 70 km/h speed limit seems really low, but with no shoulders, so many entrances and tight corners, it seems justified to me. If only the 640 would completely wrap around Greater Montreal as a northern bypass, but the Oka situation makes that unlikely.
You lucked out with light traffic on the Met. Nice work on the video.
Somewhat. I actually got stuck at Île-aux-Tourtes for a good 30 minutes. In hindsight I probably should detoured to A-30 via the Champlain or Mercier Bridge. Probably would have actually saved me time.
0:36 Update: the overpass is done! And they did a nice job, the exit to the rue de la Faune on the 73 SB was kind of dangerous (to me, anyway) but not anymore.
Also just for clarification to anyone watching this video. The Cobequid Pass is a tolled section that ONLY APPLIES TO NON-NS residents!! If your a NS resident living in the province full time, the toll DOES NOT APPLY and is FREE that’s right FREE of charge. Hope this helps from a fellow Nova Scotian.
Good job!
It's great to see your collaboration! Have you thought of a trip out west to cover out there in his part of Canada?
I am planning a trip to BC in the late spring. I’ll potentially go down to Washington/Oregon and maybe Alberta as well. Hoping it all works it out.
