Hi Joe you use modified cement to glue the boards down to floor and curb no screws on floor. I would use the kerdi band on the seams. I hope that video helped. Keep me posted I am here to help.

Thanks this is joe. I'm going to use the go board on the walls where the old fiberglass tub/shower was removed, Back wall two sides. I'm going be the plumber chip up the floor extend drain over to the center of shower floor, rectangle, front to back 31" x 59" left to right. So I'm going to cover the walls with go board and then I'm going to make the smallest curb i can out of go board. and use a sloped mud bed, sloped to the drain. They use a sealer in a caulking gun for all the go board seams and screws. I do like your idea of using the kerdi strips on all the corners and seams. Thank you so much. joe I'm not to sure about water proofing the curb?, how should i stick the layers of go board together for the curb? And you said screw the curb to the floor, long tap-con screws?

Curious why you have them spackle the drywall before putting the kerdi, doesn't it just create humps in the corners and seems?

Hi thanks for all the great info. I like how you make your videos. I'm removing a tub/shower 31" x 59" and putting in the lowest curbed shower i can for my old age, while i still can. lowes has go board for my walls. Light weight. (I can install it myself) What's the lowest size curb that i can make and still use a shower curtain. And maybe make it out of go board ? What about water proofing the curb. Tile all the way to the ceiling ? I would love to here all you have to say about this. Thanks joe.

No for there is no ceiling tile. I use silicone or a tube of kerdi fix along ceiling and wall. I kerdi band only for ceiling tiles but ceiling has 1/2 inch plywood with 1/8 inch prova board on the ceiling.

Thanks for sharing. Back in the day we did quite a bit 10 years ago. For myself I like my surface stronger. Depending on the installer, prova and kerdi are good products as well.

Thanks for the video, I personally prefer prova board or kerdi board and band. It takes me 30 minutes to do a shower with prova and about an hour for kerdi board.

You can use drywall guys my builders aren’t dumb. They’re busy all the time for a reason they confirmed this years ago with Schluter. All is good. Never any leaks think about that comment didn’t make any sense.

drywall shower walls? That wall is going to rot out. Should have water proofed the walls before putting down the shower floor.
