I remember as a kid in 8th grade watching one of these 79 Pace Cars doing burnouts in the high school parking lot. It was 1980. It left quite an impression on me.

I really like the satin black look as opposed to factory flat black . Thing is they could have done that way also and it make you wonder what they were thinking. Just like the 20 inch rims I put on my 94” extended cab Chevy 4X4 . Had they done that probably would have sold another 250,000 units. I think the P stang looks Awesome.

Have to ask, is this Avalanche Grey?

Absolutley love the car with the stripes. Im glad you went with the semi gloss. I dont really care for the flat paint on mine either. Color matched wheels are killer.

I’ve always liked the Pace Car. So glad to see the decals applied. They really make the silver “pop”. The seat leaning is a common issue with fox body seats. I’ve heard of guys taking the seat apart and welding the broken part. I’ve never had to do it and not sure which part it is that wears out Look forward to updates on this one 👍

Love it. We had a 79 Pace car with the 2 3 turbo set up. My dad was racing a GT on the highway and blew it up and sold it. It was supposed to be mine when i graduated high school etc but it never happened lol.

You have such a great collection!

I noticed your rear brake hose is on the passenger side like it was with the single muffler. Ford puts it near the center of the axle when the car has dual exhaust. They even did this on the 1965 Mustang, not just the fox bodies. This gives the hose more clearance with the hot exhaust pipe. My early 1985 CFI car had a single muffler like your 84 had. I converted mine to the centrally mounted brake hose by doing the following. I bought the "1986-95 Mustang V8 Rear Upper Brake Hose Bracket 5.0" from one of the Mustang restoration shops. I attached this using large sheet metal screws into the holes that already existing in the floor pan. I bought a length of pre-flared brake line from the parts store, gently bent it to attach to the top of the bracket on one end and to the existing hard line that runs down the passenger side. I connected the new hard line to the existing using a union fitting. I detail some of the conversion on the 4.10 rear end video on my channel.

The 93 Cobra was legendary in the 90’s, but I agree on the ‘84 gt350. 4 eyes are becoming way more desirable and for all the right reasons. I bought my 1985 GT being the last year of carbureted engines. I purchased a decent car that isnt rotting for some of the same reasons you did, but most of all, I wanted one since my teens.
