Your joy in these videos is so contagious haha, lots of hype now!! My monster kit is brown trousers that can double as a spare pair for my character too, and a plain grey tunic. Then I add a super lightweight sash or robe in the right colour for whatever monster we are playing as! I made them out of the thinnest material ever, so they fold down to about the size of a pair of socks each.

I also have to travel light, and what I'm planning to do is make a singular orc kit for monstering, then have a simple coloured cloth sash (like a pirate sash) around the waist for each clan needed. The base layer I'm going to try and keep pretty generic, then carry a small bag of interchangeable accessories to go along with the sash to make the kit seem closer to the clan I need to play at the time (Druj cape with bone trophies on it, Jotun can incorporate kit from many of the nations as they tend to emulate them, Grendel tend to wear anything brightly coloured, and jewellry, to show off their wealth). So linen shirt and trousers in neutral colours like browns and greys, a sash or hood of the colour required, then some interchangeable bits and bobs. The leather armour and weapons supplied by PD work for all of them.

Just got to the section regarding Missed Calls during Battles - I cannot agree more with the sentiment of 'If you do not want to lose your character to battle, do not go on the battles.' It's something that transcends LARPs from what I've seen over the years, people don't want to lose their characters, I get that entirely. But the MOMENT you pass that threshold, the moment you are on a battle, you need to be prepared to lose it all. Calls are so easy to miss in the heat of battle, a lot going on and noise aplenty. But there is a limit to that sentiment, like the example you gave of the Mage taking 3 Calls and just going back behind the line. It sucks to witness, it sucks to roleplay and can unfortunately drum up resentment of that player in the field.

E2 was my first event. Seeing the Gladewardens walk around in their awesome armour was such a cool sight!

My first event is this month!! Buzzing!! Urizen, the Spire of CloverSong coming to an Anvil near you. Thank you both for your invaluable advice and laughter and background noise while i sew my kit <3 a little sad we didn’t choose dawn for the drama. It sounds like chaos in the best way.

I dont know if its the same guy or a different guy, but at E2 I was at weapons check and a guy had two large ikea bags full of throwing weapons, he was stood like 3 meters away and two weapons checkers were checking the throwing weapons, then throwing them at the guy. They were everywhere, aha was very funny at the time.

Awesome vid guys! FYI, I was with the Wintermark army in the Saturday battle, you were fighting in Kallevesa. Incidentally I was also the guy that jumped out his skin when Jim walloped his sword on his shield in the monstering prep area Sunday, was great to say hi and I'll reiterate what I said then, our group were all new to Empire this year and the info in your videos has been instrumental in us getting straight into the game and having a fantastic time, so thanks again! I had such a busy event but I can only remember about 10% of it! I think that's a sign for me to chill out next event and do more sitting down.

"Venomed tae fuck" I don't know why that made me laugh so hard, but it did. Clearly Dylan went down because he's not wearing any armour, so he only has two global hits (She hit with the sword, then she did a draw cut, that's two hits in my book, not sure if it would actually count in Empire, but there was a second between the hits XD) I've honestly always wanted to go to a LARP like Empire, but the long (for me) distance I'd have to travel on my own, plus my own mental health issues have always held me back... maybe I'll treat myself to E3 this year as a birthday gift, maybe not. Glad you three had so much fun though.
