It really is such a shame no Class 310s or 312s were saved from the scrapyard, Those were my childhood and bring back so many fond memories, and imo they looked so stylish in green and blue in the late 60s early 70s, I only ever got to see them with the yellow front and the Southeastern livery in the early 90s, but this footage shows them off so nicely from days gone by, God i miss that rumbling of the motor as it pulled away from the station
Barrowfield, Glasgow.
Fas watching this in 2024. Im a Torry loon. 1965. My mother and her father and further back before 1898 came from Torry. What a difference there is now ( not necessarily for the better) there’s been over the near 30 years since video was made. 😢
Great content. Very nostalgic for me as I was born, and raised in the NE in the late 60's.
0:43 This appears to be the Salmon nets at Port Errol hairbour Cruden Bay. 1:30 The view of the water of Cruden, and foot bridge confirms this.
did the guy in the video also narrate the c2c drivers eye view dvd? he sounds the exact same
Great programme. Fast forward to 2024, and it feels like ACC are trying their best to chip away at another bit of Torry with the whole RAAC fiasco!
Absolutely love tory, the people made me so welcome, and I definitely will return one day❤❤❤
I miss old Torry , l lived in Victoria road and worked down bottom of Sinclair road Just past ferry road in Tom Wilson fish merchant, I now live in bishops stortford North of London but my roots will always be in Aberdeen , great city
Hats off Aberdeen
Very interesting. I know people living in the properties in Abbey Road, Fisher Square. They will be delighted to see footage of how their house used to be.
I used to score me hash from their back in the 80s
Parkhead that's where I grow up my old man and his brothers where born there in the 50s and 60s
My Mothers Father Had a Fish Yard in Old Ford Road Torry I remember I spent my holidays in Aberdeen Has enyone got information about it It was called Donald Sinclair.
This man must have been delerious !!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hash capital of Aberdeen in the 90s!
Amazing footage, thanks for sharing
Miss them!
Just sitting in a pub in Linlithgow with one of the two boys who you see running next to the train at the start!
Superb film. The City looks so commanding & elegant , the social life, so busy. Amazing quarry footage, never been there. Things really do look better here in your film, than today in 2023. Thanks for sharing.🐱🏴
Very nice
Canelo Alvarez at 3.45 !
Why did they do away with the boats at Duthie Park? Such a pity, the pond is just all moss now. I spent alot of time at the beach promenade where family worked. 🙂🏴
Lovely film & music. The town looked much better then than now, so classic with architecture & we can see fields at edge of town.🙂🏴
I love watching old things about Aberdeen wish there were more.
Aberdeen Council has destroyed the City Centre.....there is not a brain cell amongst them....
Aye, I remember at Glenbervie Road near the Salvation Army and going to Walker Road schhol being taught by Miss Hallcrow. Then Torry Secondary, now an Academy. Am 83 now.
So?
Really fantastic watch. Great history lesson.
Ste. Fiddigch Would that be like in Glen Fiddigh ! ? DML
love these trains and the sound of the slamming doors the noise they made, i use too go on the railranger with my friends back in the 90s £1 a ticket from 9am until 12pm top video, God bless you,

A story of the sea. I know the sea also And the Herring . Not so much Trolling but some Dragging , mostly Lobster. But I know the sea ! DML
What a trip down memory lane. I grew up in Aberdeen in the 60s. Left Aberdeen 30 years ago. My brother who still lives there tells me I wouldn't recognise it now - and it hasn't changed for the better.
1:20 is that Rubislaw quarry?
Class 304's ran on the Altrincham-Deansgate route before Metrolink took over in 1990. They were blue & white livery.
i remember them mate i was gutted wen they took these trains of the altrinham line, all the best for 2023
The Festival decorations at 07:32 reveal this section to have been taken in 1964. Later there is the Floral Clock for 1957, so this is a compilation of different dates.
Shit bags back stabbers the torch for you 😡
Thankyou for this
My ggg Grandparents - James andMargaret Duncan, lived in Torry Village Public House in School Road in 1861.
Torry = 'Little Poland"!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
❤
"None are the best". Sensible school girls.
Er, "BUSSES"?????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What DVD is this from?
From a program called Diesel & Electric on 35mm: Volume 3. I'm not 100% sure, but according to the description of what's on the DVD, it appears to match what is seen in this video.
Fast and he furious 7
Some day I will come back to Aberdeen, I love this city
5:37 fing hell , a real life Mr. Mackay
I bade in Buchan Road. We were surrounded by family. The Milne's fae Buchan Terrace and the Thompsons, formerly Farquar Road. All in the fishing industry.
An era many would yearn for - it was a great era for variety but I find the modern era more efficient but less interesting rolling stock wise - fewer types and too much of the "same old same old'
I'm a Torry quine, my mother, Grandmother and Great Grandfather all having lived in Menzies Road. I am a Reid, and my cousins would be Mairs, Craigs and others who still live in Torry. My son too his father being from Torry too...I live in London though lol! I went to Walker Road school. Our first house was at 24 Walker Road. My dad was a marine engineer and was the Technical Director at Wood Groups Don Fishing Co. at Point Law.
It’s Craig here ..how are you?
Nothing to be proud of 😂
1936, the year my father qualified as a Chartered Accountant left Aberdeen for Buenos Aires and the year my mother graduated from the varsity.
You must be well advanced in age too.
