Hi! At my school it might be a bit higher but as long as you work at a relatively big company in a major metropolitan area most jobs are over 150K Total Compensation (Salary + Bonus/RSUs etc.) For my university, you can check out this source, blog.cs.brown.edu/2020/02/27/gradreports-ranks-brown-cs-first-colleges-computer-science/ and for overall in the US you can see this source, www.glassdoor.ca/Salaries/us-entry-level-software-engineer-salary-SRCH_IL.0,2_IN1_KO3,32.htm# but it also includes salary in non-bay area, NY, which has adjusted salaries that are lower according to the cost of living. Hi! I've only been at Brown so take my perspective with a grain of salt but judging from long conversations over the years with my friends at other unis (i.e. Columbia, UCLA, Cornell, UCB, Oxford/Cambridge, UChicago), 1. Brown definitely has a very top environment for cultivating intellectual and free-thinking culture. Take when the national scandals and protests were going on in most of the Ivys and other major unis, Brown had a pretty minimal effect for everyday life. You could take your stance/opinion and although other students might not agree with you, the most common thing is people just don't bring it up unless in a respectful class discussion environment. 2. To answer your other question, Brown does have a pretty hefty tuition as much or more than its other private school peers, but it really depends on what you study. For example, The U.S. Department of Education shows that one year after graduation, Brown CS bachelor's degree graduates have a median salary of $141100 USD. In that sense the tuition would've definitely been worth it. I also did a quick search and saw according to US News the average need-based scholarship or grant awarded to first-year students at Brown University was $59,928. So that's definitely not bad and we just moved towards need-blind for even international students (1 of 8 in the country). Hope this helps!

Hi! I am a Canadian Citizen so I was waived the English Proficiency tests, but many of my friends did take it. Ideally, for the TOEFL you would want a 110+ and on the IELTS an 8.5+. The minimum requirements that Brown gives are as follows: "A minimum score of 105 on the TOEFL internet-based exam, a minimum score of 8.0 on the IELTS, a minimum score of 130 on the Duolingo, a minimum score of 75 on the Pearson Test of English, or a minimum score of 191 on the C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency Cambridge English Exams is expected in most cases. We do not currently accept the IELTS Indicator Examination." Hope this helps!

@@ariunnsann6245 No problem! Are you applying for Master’s or Undergrad? If you’re applying for undergrad I think you should try to retake it to meet the 8.0 requirement. If you’re applying for master’s then it shouldn’t be that big of a problem, the minimum for that is the 7 band. You can check out the official website for graduate admissions. @@CapIlu-z6e Hi! From my experience, most freshman who I met at Brown usually chose at least one major that fit their general application profile. But the major is absolutely non-binding and has no effect whatsoever except the freshman advisor (usually a professor) you get will likely be from the department you chose as your intended major. Essentially, the benefit of having the Open Curriculum is that it really shouldn’t matter all the way until your junior year at Brown when there is a hard deadline for submitting your concentration, any time before that you can really do whatever you want. Thanks! I personally am not allergic to most common foods but I do have a few friends with a lot of allergies. I would say all the restaurants are very supportive for all allergy and also religious accommodations. It’s even more true for the cafeterias around campus. Nothing to worry about, they will be super professional with your requests :)

Thanks for your feedback! I will keep that in mind next time, I personally care a lot about the food of where I live but it makes sense that many people may not feel the same way. I think for Brown you are talking about the PRIME program right? We don't have an official MBA program like other schools but the PRIME is really good and you can cross register classes at Harvard and MIT as well.

Thayer Street does have quite a lot of choices and if you do come you should download an app called Snackpass and you can order pickup options for takeout at a discount/get free food.

Brown has a few business classes under the ENGN course codes from very esteemed professors like Danny Warshay, theres also a concentration called BEO (Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations) this is the link you can check it out: www.brown.edu/undergraduate-programs/business-entrepreneurship-and-organizations-ab. But I guess the short answer is there isn't a pure undergrad business school if that's what your asking abt. But for most paths into Investment banking or quants, its equall valid to do a Economics + BEO or International Relations, which has a similar course structure with a business undergrad anyways. So for example, economics has courses like financial accounting, investments 1&2, corporate finance and more.
