Truly an oddity, Linda Ronstadt singing, and someone recording her on tape while talking to Gram Parsons. At the Palomino in Hollywood, Rare and Unissued

Best country singer EVER! Hank Williams❤️
I’m a all out Hank Williams fan but I have never heard this song before and I love it I have a whole room for Hank
You can smell the whiskey thru the speaker. Love it.
I gave all my best years to that woman and all she gave me was mouths to feed... the facts of life brother
now we all got that one side of the family…
I can smell the camels from here, that or the interior of a truck, not dirty but lived well
Dont question the work of the lord
cut off in its prime
I have always (mournfully) enjoyed this ballad. I love how in the opening scene of Yellowstone in 2018 when it is played for Lee Dutton's funeral. In 2024 it is played once more for John Dutton's funeral. To cap the episode with Elsie's monologue about free, raw, wild land just brought tears. She was so hauntingly good in 1883 when she described how her "heaven" would always be.
The Legendary Hank Williams, Unique👍

He was pickled in country, gospel and blues...just too bad he let the pickling of other sorts shorten his longevity.
Prayers for the chicken ❤
❤
I hear Gram talking in the beginning of the song, I hear Rik Grech’s fiddle, but GP isn’t singing here, he’s listening
No voice ever conveyed more emotion
Very strong voice! Excellent job nailing those low notes in A in the verses!

My friend ady tee m sent me this video. Thinking of you ady. I know how much you love Mr Nesmith and the more you show to me and send to me helps me to understand why. :) I am so grateful that you want to let me in to your world and by extension the world of Mr Nesmith and the Monkees. He really does seem like a good man. Sincerely a Monkees newbie who still needs to watch the tv show X Beautiful song

This song is haunting both bitter and sweet
Reminds me of my life 🧬
"It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud...Its glory is all moonshine...War is Hell...!" Gen. William T. Sherman.
Hank Williams. And Johnny Cash
Truly a poet and a voice of a generation. 🥹

BEST SINGER EVER.
The song was used by Ken Burns in his film "The Civil War" where he used photos of the war to tell the story from the lead up, till after the war.
What a lovely piece of music!
