The Black and Jewish Podcast is a thought-provoking show hosted by Ashira Solomon, who is both Black and Jewish. Ashira, with her unique perspective, engages in open dialogues that explore the challenges, struggles, and triumphs within each community. The show delves into the issues causing division while also celebrating the shared history, resilience, and strength of both groups. With a focus on understanding, empathy, and practical solutions, The Black and Jewish Podcast provides a space for listeners to confront difficult topics, navigate political landscapes, and highlight what can unite us rather than divide us. Ashira prides herself on being able to sit with anyone who wants to talk, fostering a welcoming environment for discussion and progress.
Ep. 12 They Are Using Blackface For Evil with Curtis Scoon
This week on The Black and Jewish Podcast, Ashira sits down with Curtis Scoon, a film producer, writer, and the mastermind behind the ScoonTV network. Curtis became a household name after being infamously implicated in the murder of Jam Master Jay, an event that sparked a media frenzy and led him to finally tell his side of the story. He also co-produced the hit BET series American Gangster.
In this gripping episode, Ashira and Curtis take a deep dive into the darker side of Hollywood, exploring how the industry promotes a degenerate culture and weaponizes Black identity for harmful agendas. They also discuss the complexities of Black and Jewish relations in Brooklyn, particularly in Crown Heights, shedding light on how many of the issues go far beyond race.
Tune in for a raw and thought-provoking conversation that challenges the narrative and digs into the forces shaping media and culture.

WHY DOES THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY SUPPORT HAMAS?
Finally finished listening/watching. This was an interesting interview. Thank you for uploading
Thanks for listening, I appreciate the support.
21:00 Yes, I'd also say US-Jews are (often) notably different from the diaspora, and especially Israelis. It's well put imo that they're catering to an audience they'll never have, and generally disputing on the premises of their opposition.
I’m still thinking through what is the importance to catering to an audience you don’t have.
14:00-ish absolutely agree with this assertion. The show of force, especially with persistence, smashes right through narrative lens. Cool of the YT-algorithm exposing me to this channel. I think also Ashira seems like a decently good host. I'm gonna sub (w/bell blaring), and browse the earlier episodes when I got the time.
Yeah I liked that he brought this perspective! I’m happy you like my hosting! So many great guests to hear from. Christian’s are biblically illiterate with Pastor Dumisani Washington is one of my favs, check it out. Ep 3
