These sorts of videos are always going to elicit mixed views about the choice of the top 20! The two grounds I have visited most are Luton and Stevenage. Kenilworth Road looked shabby and outdated when I first went there in 1983. In the subsequent years the club had severe financial problems and the local council went out of their way to prevent permission to build a new ground somewhere else. Anyway, the new Power Court stadium is due to be ready for the 2027-28 season. I remember going to Broadhall Way - again in 1983 for the first time. Following the bankruptcy of Stevenage Athletic, the replacement club, Stevenage Borough (the 'Borough' bit was dropped in 2010) had to work its way up several levels of minor leagues. Therefore the development of the ground has been a patchwork as the club's crowds got larger. With Stevenage being a New Town, there is not a history of a club being supported by the relatively large numbers of spectators that were prevalent in the 1930s to the 1960s at lower league grounds.

The Molineux….one of the stands has 3 problems , it faces the sun into the late afternoon, making watching without sunglasses hard…it faces the prevailing wind making it cold….and finally…it faces the pitch..!

Sadly stadium moves are necessary as capacities of old grounds had been greatly reduced due to stadium disasters and as a consequence all seater stadiums in the top two divisions. Also given the weather in the UK a lot of the new stadiums now are fully roofed and no longer do football fans have to suffer weather discomfort as much as before. There is also the increased match day incomes and attendances at the new grounds which is a major factor.

Leaving the Vic in 1997 still guts me. The day we left was the day we lost our soul. Sure we had premier league football at the Brit, but the Vic was and always will be our home, and we would go back in a heartbeat if we could. It ripped the heart out of the town when we left. She may be gone now but she lives forever in the heart of us older Stokies.

My first time at a City match was the last Manchester Derby at Maine Road in the league. Man what an atmosphere the had. The Etihad can be pretty decent if you are in the East End bc thats where us mad lads all go so we can hurl abuse at away fans. But as sparkly and comfy as the Etihad is, it certainly cant match the magic of Maine Road.

Blundell Park is the most unusual. Grimsby Town play in Cleethorpes and is as closed in by streets as any mentioned other than Luton's.

Chester FC's Deva Stadium crosses the border of England and Wales. So half the stadium is in England and Half is in Wales. I think it's the only stadium in the world where the same football match is played in two different countries at the same time.
