How Makima is the best Psychopath in anime history: Psychology of Makima
มุมมอง 28K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A psychopath is born but a sociopath is made. Makima as a character makes it a bit complicated to differentiate between the two because we are not given a backstory to her. However, after denji defeats her, and she reincarnates as nayuta: Kishibe says that maybe under Denjis watch and not the government, she would turn out better. This would imply that Makima was a product of her environment ra...

I’m someone with BPD and man Aiko is really special to me. I read Punpun when I was a teenager and still in the environment where I was abused so I was at my worst behavior-wise. Untreated and all. And I acted a lot like her. When I moved away and got therapy it all started to calm down though and I’m now in remission, but I still look back at Aiko and it feels like I’m reading about my younger self. I just want to protect her.

He did enjoy Aiko, they were both going in and out of trusting each other because of the circumstances, I belive its one of the few times pun pun is actually happy in the series, when he's hanging out with her and doing her. It's way easier to belive he goes into shock after aiko is owari. They essentially did everything they wanted to do with eachother at that point. Unfortunately everything was already in shambles when they were finally satisfied and ready to look forward. Also Aiko basically got punpun to kill her mom the same way the girl from the clay modeling classes did, they could've just run away, they were both adults. They just let their feelings take over that chapter. Just going back to Aiko's mother was the worst decision in the whole manga.

I dont think Makima is a psychopath. However, she is a sociopath. Reason being that that sociopaths are made while psychopaths are born, we can see this later with the Nayuta version of her which still retains some of her Makima tendencies. Poochi even later confirms that by saying that Makima always wanted a family, much like Poochi being too strong when he was Chainsaw man and couldn't get a hug because of how menacing he was so is Makima unable to have a family with people she deems beneath her, and by default being the demon of control and a demon puts humans below her, kinda like long lived elves in fantasy are depicted as arrogant and all knowing snots because of their unatrual life span.

I think Oyasumi punpun is overated. The element of how dark and how griping and emotional the story is. I feel as a reader, you read the manga you feel sympathy for punpun early on with how broken but together his family is. He is simply discontent with everything, he wants romance/sex and gets it from midori, nanjou, aiko, soccer chick. Has no problems with friends who genuinely care about him, maybe socialisingin general but has a support network. Made all his decisions, such as leaving his uncles home, staying out of contact with his dad, he should've been going to therapy. Along with all the weird actions inbetween, reading the manga, knowing how well he's doing, academically progressing towards his real estate license. It feels like he's angry that things are fine, that he doesn't have a excuse to abandon everything or wallow in his own mind which he tries so much to do. He then meets Aiko again, his idyllic excuse and an individual so conceited and possessive as he is and saves her by protecting her against her abusive mother. He then feels finally dammed and can now drop all his pretentious nice-guy placated civility. Runs off in a deranged abusive relationship with Aiko, where he tries to embrace his delusional frame that's he's a killer, stringing Aiko along which she wants to but honestly has no choice, thinking of how to dispose of her and himself. At this point Punpun idyllic image of Aiko is ruined and he just sees her as simply a nuisance, they both contemplate disposing each other and the reality of Aiko situation gets the most of her and she commits suicide. Punpun returns home, similar to his uncle, and tries to commit suicide, with his obvious impending future being difficult to determine, and is saved by nanjou. Ultimately its a interesting but exhausting story of idiots and people who are lacking in conscientiousness, seki who is understandable and reasonable can't help but be compulsive and rely on Shimizu, pegasus and the mathematician, nanjou with Punpun, the uncle and Midori. Everyone is so dreary and pretentious.

As someone with bad social anxiety, when I watched Watamote, I somewhat felt understood by her. This is why Watamote is one of my favourite animes, even though it's extremely short and is seen as cringe to a lot of people. I don't want to be popular, I instead just want friends. I've always wanted friends that I just click with. I avoid socializing like the damn plague cuz of how anxious it makes me. Even just looking at someone or saying "hi" or "bye" is too difficult for me. I constantly feel like everyone in class or school in general are judging and criticizing me for everything I do. I play video games a lot and have a lot of online friends. If I socialize with someone, even if it's a simple, normal conversation that lasts for a few seconds, it'll play in my head for hours, judging what I said or how the person reacted/responded. If it didn't go well for me, I'll assume the worst like the person won't wanna talk to me again, they won't want to be my friend, etc. I spend nights just playing the conversation in my head to where I lose sleep and get headaches. I HATE participating in group protects or activities and prefer to do things on my own. I go out of my way to showcase my interests by shirts I wear, hats I wear, or keychains on my bag so people can maybe talk to me about it and start a conversation

I don’t think Makima is narcissistic. Narcissists are insecure and constantly in need of validation. I don’t think Makima is either of those things. She doesn’t seem insecure at all, and she doesn’t constantly try to show/tell everyone how great she is, as narcissists tend to do. If anything, she seems to downplay what she’s capable of. Most people misunderstand what narcissism is. Narcissists aren’t really arrogant or in love with themselves. They put on a facade of arrogance to mask their feelings of inadequacy. A good example of a narcissist would be Zap Brannigan from Futurama.
