A Woodworker Born In The Millennial Era, I also have a passion for Building Computers!
Hi my name is Riley, I'm a hobbyist Woodworker based in New Brunswick Canada, Born in Williams Lake British Columbia, a city famously known for it's Forestry and Sawmilling, so it was only fitting that Woodworking eventually called my name🫡
Why did I land on "104 Woodworks" for the channel name? Well I use to be a very bad addict, and I spent many years trying to crawl out of the hole I dug myself into, 10/4/20 was the anniversary that I finally found my way back and I live every day thanking & appreciating the Grace of God for helping me to escape the clutches of addiction and to become my best self, and now I'm a TH-camr! haha working day and night to bring you entertaining and maybe even educational content! Love to all, thanks for being a part of this channel!🤍 don't forget to subscribe!

th-cam.com/channels/PM_if1uCeesUD4Y3F6O7FA.html Lumber Storage is needed and it is the next thing on the Lumberyard to do List! I now kind of have a Lumberyard, but I need a place to store all the lumber I mill up off the ground so it can properly dry out and remain there for as long as I need it to! In this video I visually show you how I built my own lumber storage platform, simple yet strong...

Great build and design, but i hope you applied thermal paste before the cpu cooling fan.
First off, many thanks, and much appreciated 😎👌 Second, when you buy a CPU that comes with a stock cooler the thermal paste comes pre-applied, at least it does for AMD CPUS, I have no experience or knowledge on Intel CPUs, but I'd assume the same thing, with that said I would definitely recommend putting a little extra because it's not enough in my opinion and doesn't always spread out to cover the entire area, I've noticed when taking them apart for maintenance the pre-applied paste covers most but not the entire CPU, I've noticed the edges wanting for a little extra 🙏 you can definitely get away with the pre-applied paste though, I'm just thorough haha 🤪👌 Don't forget to like, share and subscribe too, lots of good stuff coming 😉 cheers!
Old wood but probably super stable.
Only 20 years or so, it's not really that old, but I'm only 29 years old and I use to play with these pieces of wood as a child, so they're old to me 😊🤗 once the wood is surfaced it's basically brand new again, and yes also very strong and stable 👍👍 thanks for watching! Take care!
❤
🖤🤍🖤🤍💥
So relaxing to watch
@michaelan9688 glad you enjoyed! Check out my latest PC Build if like this one 😊👌
Insane ❤❤
thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the comment, view and sub 🖤🤍
Could you hold still long enough for me to read your chest tattoo or let me know in the comments? Awesome theme job!
@wandarettinger5674 haha my chest tattoo actually says R.E.S.P.E.C.T 🤪 but it's not finished yet so I don't think I deserve any respect yet lol It's just a personal value that I hold high above all other values 💯 🙏 🙂
Very cool. I feel like a little yellow is missing with the simpsons theme. Beautiful build!
@coreydenadmirant2528 that's why I put it in the thumbnail lol nah just kidding, didn't want to go to detailed as I'm cunched for time myself and need to get a TON of milling done so I can get wood drying for winter projects 😎👌 that's why I went with silhouette styled art, keep it simple and still blend in with the white and black color theme. Plus there's always room for more builds on the channel, maybe even another Simpsons Pc Build, with more color next time 💯😎👌 I definitely agree, I colored Simpsons build would be epic, this was a slap job quick and easy, but I'm down to put a lot more hours into the next one 😀 Thanks brother 🙏 💙
@@coreydenadmirant2528 Amy loves black and white stuff.
Your creativity is amping up!! Looks amazing.
@terristott7773 thanks mother! It is isn't it!
I LOVE THIS!!
@amylove7808 all for you sis! 💕
Nice video!
@debe2955 thank you 😊 🙏
Great work
Thanks brother
Nice and precise 👌👏
Thanks Faja
Nice. Might have airflow issues with that fan layout, though.
So far so good, the highest the CPU got so far under max load was right around 80° and that was reading was taken towards the end of a long gaming session, with multiple different game titles. It usually sits around 75 give or take, these CPUs are designed to run at 90° or 95° I forgot which specific temperature exactly but they can run quite high for supposedly the entire life, but we obviously want to keep it as cool as possible 😉 Please forgive the lack of design, this was my very first PC build ever, so needless to say they will get much better haha but in response to your ponderings, it had no air flow issues 😊👌 heat rises, and the intakes are low, and the exhaust fan is high, and it's actually almost directly behind the hottest part in most cases, so I think the layout is quite well thought out not to toot my own horn lol Thanks for your input and appreciate you watching the whole video 📹 🙂 👍 take care!
@@104Woodworks I think it's a masterpiece and maybe even a project you wish to revisit for another person's build (or perhaps more content). Either way, I really appreciate it. If the numbers are good, then you shouldn't have much to worry about, if you keep it clean inside. I love all-wood PC case builds. They're too few and far between on TH-cam. Definitely subscribed!
@grelkath oh man, I really appreciate that, I have another pc build coming soon, no wood case but there will be a little wood working aspect incorporated into the build, also don't worry there will be more wood PC cases coming in the future, I plan to build and sell them to the public so people can use them for their own builds, but I still have a lot of trial and error before that happens haha Again, thanks so much for the sub! I'll try my best not to disappoint 😎 👌
In Japan it’s called Yaki Sugi the Americanized name for it is shu sugi ban. I use my own variation of this technique in my art.
That's fantastic to hear my friend! It's such a cool finish and treat wood!
@@104Woodworks I came up with my variation of this technique. I found a way to exaggerate the texture and add color while retaining the dramatic black grain. I enjoyed your video and wish you all the success. Keep minecrafting in real life.
@@shacklferd77 that's fantastic! I definitely will continue to do so! Same to You, I wish you all the best 😊👌
@@shacklferd77 be sure to check out the full video if you haven't already, it paints a much better picture of what I'm trying to do with the channel and in real life, I appreciate your kind words! Cheers!
Japanese method. As old as the hills.
Indeed! I've heard about structures lasting hundreds of years perfectly preserved with little to no degrading, correct me if I'm wrong 😎👌
@TheBestofBothWorlds28 Originally, it was known as "Yakisugi," but now it is known "Shou Sugi Ban." You still have to seal it with oil, though. It improves longevity and appearance. For outside use, it's still advisable to seal it, too. It can last for centuries treated with oil and sealant. Eighty to a hundred years untreated.
@eastafrica1020 80-100 untreated! Wow! Thanks for the information 🙂👌 it's very fascinating stuff! And for sure I'm going to seal it too 👍👍
From my limited knowledge into all the different trades, don't get me wrong I see what you're saying at the same time do you really want every single construction company out there walking around with this kind of firepower? Come on we can barely get good enough houses as it is 😆 but thank you for the education I did not know that
Absolutely not, let's be real they wouldn't adopt it anyways, I want DIYers to take advantage of these techniques and maybe apply it to their own projects 🙂 safety first ofcourse 😉 or just watch and enjoy thats an option too haha 🖤 Also this technique works best on dry wood 🪵 👌 I was using green wood because I was in a crunch for time, so I'll have to back over certain areas this later on this year now that it's had lots of time to dry 😀
I wonder why they dont use this process when building homes.
I wonder the same thing my friend, I also use this technique when putting fence posts in the ground, and one thing I forgot to mention in the clip was that it also helps to protect against wood destroying insects. Also it makes the wood resistant to UV rays so it's helps to protect the wood from getting weathered or fading quickly.
It takes time, they don’t care about quality these days.
@@JitsKamps got that right, it's all about quantity over quality nowadays, but there are good builders out there that care about there work and the quality of it, and this is one of many options out there for wood sealant/protectant and I'm not kicking any of the others, but Charring the wood is definitely one of my favorites 😊👌
It creates soot, so it detracts from its appeal. You can however brush and oil it before using inside to stop the soot.
@eastafrica1020 I did my ash pickaxe handle like this, turned out vert nicely!

Riley - - I second all the positive comments you have received on this one. Excellent craftsmanship on the project as well as the video production. The music was perfect, too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with reminding viewers to "like and subscribe if you want to see more videos like this and help my channel" kinda message. I appreciate when I see them as I sometimes mean to but I forget. Or . . . you could go hardline with a few frames or a banner that says "Like and subscribe or your car won't start in the morning." 🤣🤣
Oh no, I definitely didn't mean there was anything wrong with it, I just don't want to do the same thing everyone else does ya know haha trying to stand out a little, and if also if you noticed how many times I brought it up at the end haha hopefully the idea is still planted 😉👌 Appreciate your kind words Mr. JAMES!! Also your subscription and continued support to this channel 🙌 you are the man!!!
Love this!
I'm sooo glad to hear this!! 😊
Great job 👏

Thank you my amazing niece 😁😁😁 much appreciated! The most anticipated comment!
Hey Riley! -- so glad to see you at it again. This project displays absolutely master's level woodworking skills and the presentation is way up there too. I have been a subscriber since probably day one and have gone through your two or three channel name changes😄😁 and evolving formats and video skills. I remember always welcoming notifications of your new videos because they were never dull and your knowledge and personality made them fascinating. That's right, including the ones where you just floated around on the lake or went harvesting those fern things -- sorry forgot the name -- or built an animal pen/corral or built and ran a sawmill or just told us about your life. Watching your videos is always like one long existential moment and educational to boot! Please keep going. Thanks from Jim here in Happy Camp, California.
Wow! That's soooo fantastic to hear Jim! I was wondering if or when you'd pop back up and say hey haha and here you are, I appreciate the support man, it's quite a undertaking to start making quality content and I still have a LONG waaaay to go, but after much practice, a lot of tweaking and gathering the confidence to push on, I can honestly say that I'm starting to get the hang of it and have no plans to slow down, much more is on the way and as time goes on I'll be getting much faster so you won't have to wait so long, but it's very important to crawl before you walk and walk before you run hahah! Anyways, thanks for sticking with me Mr. Jim, it's much appreciated 👏 and I look forward to you seeing more of my creations, cheers man! Yours Truly Riley 😎👌
@@104Woodworks Thanks Riley -- you know it doesn't all have to be perfect -- I'm sure we would all like casual videos from you too! -- warts and all so to speak! Just keep them coming on a regular basis and you'll get a big audience.
Love it, well done as usual!
Thanks sis!🤍

Thats amazing dude how do you only have 125 you deserve so much more
Wow I really appreciate that comment! Honestly I just started taking the Channel seriously last year so I can't expect much in the way of subscribers, and my first 2 videos were nothing to brag about haha but I can defiantly promise you more quality stuff like this will be coming in the future! Again thank you for your kind words, I wish you the best!
