Replacing a Purge Valve Solenoid in a 2012 3.6L Cadillac SRX

In this video I replace the purge valve solenoid in our 2012 3.6L Cadillac SRX. The Check Engine light is on and it's throwing a P0455 OBDII code. (System Gross Leak Evaporative Emission) I also tear open the old valve/solenoid to see what's inside. For an excellent explanation of how the fuel vapor system works, I highly recommend Ratchets and Wrenches video on the subject. th-cam.com/video/dG...
Finally Completed! - Oliver 1365 Left Rear Axle Seal and Brake Band

This is the final video of the installation of a rear axle seal and new brake band in my 73 Oliver 1365. If you've watched all of these, I thank you for your patience. These are my first YTs and filming, editing and publishing are a new experience for me. If you'd like to learn more about the history of the Oliver/Fiat relationship I highly recommend Ross, the Oliver Man's YT on the subject. @r...

    Hey Jack. Worm here I also have an Oliver 1255 that has oil weeping from the weep holes. I’ve done a lot on my tractor to bring it back to life. Good video very helpful I’m going to tackle both sides soon on my tractor. Would love to pick your brain about these tractors if you have more knowledge of working on them.

    I’ve just resealed my 1365 rock shaft and the o-rings I received from import tractor was just like the originals. But Mr Bender is the man of infinite fiat knowledge and Ross goes with his advice every time. I’m at the beginning of redoing mine which I traded for from good ole Ross.

    Jack. That new funky ring is identified as a quad ring and is an enhanced seal for the removed o ring. I expect you checked for excessive wear in the rockshaft bushings? The hydraulic return oil is routed into that housing to lube the rockshaft bushings and then is metered down to lube the differential area through a small hole. If that drain hole becomes clogged it can overfill the top housing and cause leakage as well. It was great to see you do this job with the fender removed. My experience was always with the fender in place and it restricts what you can see.

      I have the fender off for sandblasting and repainting. Like you say, it made things easier to see and access.

    Jack Enjoyed watching you complete the seal / brake job on the 1365. Brings back many memories of my Oliver dealership experience from that era. I have a soft spot in my heart for these tractors and enjoyed helping Ross with his Oliver / Fiat restoration. Thanks for filming this.

      Thanks 👍 I offered Ross the opportunity to come over to Iowa and help with the job but, strangely, he didn't bite. I think they're a well built little tractor. I was going to film removing the tires because Ross makes it look so easy to do. I finally got them off, but it was a struggle and now the rims can be repaired and repainted.

    Your seal should be fine, Ran into a similar situation replacing o rings in a 2-85 white pto unit. The AGCO dealer explained that the original round seals used in white / olivers had been replaced with those 4 cornered o rings to improve their serviceability as supposedly those corners help increase their cross section thus reducing the chance of leakage. Sales pitch? I dont know, but they are still holding 30 years on.

    Dont understand wives, they seem to think that working on big tractor assemblies are going to get us hurt. Just my wife's way of telling me she still loves me after 52 years I guess. Bless them all. I have a white 2-60 that probably needs the same job come warmer weather, wonder if design is similiar? Guess I'll find out when I get into the shop.

    • @jackmanatee3162
      @jackmanatee3162 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My wife is right to worry. You can see my supports could be better engineered. Like some stout cribbing instead of tippy jack stands. Looks like your 2-60 is also a Fiat. I’ll bet the rear axle design is the same.
