What about the noise?
@@Creativecreation888 I use an external microphone attachment, it gives me higher quality clear audio.
Which one is better, the RV-8 or the RV-14?
@@dabneyoffermein595 Hello, it is a personal preference, RV-8 has seating like a fighter jet, the RV-14 is a newer design and side by side.
Which side is hot?
It has a diagram on the dust cover, if it doesn't show the hot side a multimeter should work.
Thanks.
Very useful video for anyone potentially looking at an RV-8 as an option to buy
This device is the real deal! I got if for my Toyota Lexus and I couldn't be more happy! thanks for the video
“Pretty cool! Seamless” Yeah. Glad to see you had the exact same experience I did. No internet. Fantastic 🎉yeah that’s sarcasm.
True! I was impressed it did so well, I believe it would have made it through given enough time. This is FSD V.12, with ultrasonic sensors.
Man, this situation is even hard with human 😂😢
if you have tesla you need to tab. just like jeep wave. i do that with my cybertruck
Does this works on 2003 honda civic
It does! If you have a gas pump in your garage...
Yes, it does work on all models of Teslas
Does this work on all Teslas?
Only electric ones, not gas models.
Can you show how to get the cover off?
It's beautiful.
Thanks! Wes Crawford is a true artist.
I read about this guy that had a Crawford. He lost his thumb stud. He seen a farmer with a plasma cutter mending a fence. He got out of his car and asked if he could use the plasma cutter real quick. He put it to the blade and blew a hole into it. Then went home and cleaned up the slag. It looked like a beveled hole. @@Pressplaysubscribe

Crazy! I saw one while on a walk today in LA, wondering if it’s the same one. 😳
That's a great idea. Thank you for sharing!
What are you using to pull in the telemetry?
I have a Garmin G5 that records the AHRS and speed data to a micro sd card.
Looks like a nice wheel, wonder if it comes in blue and would fit a Condor tailwheel assembly from Flyboys Accessories. I have the pneumatic tire but it loses air frequently and sometimes is flat so the Beringer wheel might be the ticket.
Beringer makes a few colors, I purchased the Doug Bell tailwheel from FlyBoys and it is too small to fit the pneumatic tire, Beringer had a 5" and 6" solid tire wheel specifically for the RV-8 but they discontinued it. I am keeping an eye out for a used one.
How the telemetry works?
I fly an RV-8 and love this perspective for a camera mount. Please share how you mounted the camera
Hello, I mounted a GoPro with an adhesive mount and an arm behind the passenger seat, I run a cable adapter from the rear audio jacks to the camera. I have tried to mount the camera in a few different spots in and outside the airplane, this one gives the best overall view of a flight. I get the .csv data from my Garmin G5 micro sd card and add the speed, altitude, and other information to the final cut. (A stand-alone GoPro is not capable of providing AHRS data) See you out there!
I have something similar, an adhesive Go Pro mount and a swiveling camera mount whichI can use with my Garmin VIRB Ultra 30 that bluetooths to the GMA 245 audio panel for real time in cockpit audio. I recently found a very reasonably priced Garmin VIRB 360 and am experimenting with different mounting locations and it also can Bluetooth to my intercom. I used a Go Pro for a while but the batteries wouldn’t last a whole flight. Also could not use the WI-FI without it freezing up. Seems like this was due to some type of EMI interference form the avionics. WI-FI worked fine away from the plane. The Garmin cameras work fine and can be controlled by the G3X or from the 660/760 series backup GPS with onboard proprietary sensors. Just turn power on before strapping in and having good luck so far with stop/start recording from the cockpit. The Garmin video editing allows telemetry data to be added from the camera with a user selectable.
Lights what?! Stop it. After your check list say this killer items prair : Fuel, Flaps, Trim, Transponder, lights. FFTTL , and don't forget to set your DG and cycle your control surfaces. Many safe flights 😊
Thanks for the reply, My checklist covers all of those items as well as control surfaces are free and correct. I "Stir the porridge" while taxiing and have a mirror to confirm tail surface operation, I don't verbalize everything on my checklist, "key in, turn key", etc. You can't see in the video but I don't have a directional gyro and took out the vacuum pump years ago. . "Lights, camera, action" Is used after my checklist, run up, and then being cleared for the runway, I use it for lights (all) camera (transponder) and action (all other items including mixture, fuel pump, control surfaces, again) here are a couple of good links; hartzellprop.com/5-aviation-sayings-worth-remembering/#:~:text=Before%20takeoff%2C%20remember%3A%20Lights%2C%20Camera%2C%20Action!&text=Camera%20means%20turning%20on%20the,necessary)%20and%20applying%20takeoff%20power. Update, the ticket was dropped!
Felt in love, when I first time saw those Crawford-Kasper knives in Blade magazine, back in 1998 when I was on visiting my family in USA. The blade, the handle this knife is perferct. I have only CRKT made one with black handle, and one wtih aluminum. Have two custom versions, one neck knife and one big blade knife. The hell of the knife it is.
This is way cool! I'm a current RV-4 owner and former Marine Pilot. I'd absolutely love to connect with you, perhaps offline to discuss how you did this. I love it! Cheers, Buzz
Love the Video system! Great videos🙏
Thank you!
did you push the card in and out a couple times or did you just not get it pushed all the way in the first couple of times you did it. You didn't say anything about that...
I was unable to get the micro SD card to seat, I had to try pushing several times.
just look at your own video's please its all blurry. you hold the GPS toooo close to the video camera
Thank you for the feedback, I noticed this after uploading and have started using a different camera.
Great. Thanks
Holy mackerel! Give the plate number of the Tesla to the police so they can pay for the ticket!
No way, I hope the judge dismissed this ticket for you.
No way, the white Tesla should have gotten the ticket.
BIG upgrade; I don't envy you for the difficult work and the cost. But you will LOVE your new panel, I guarantee it. Just make sure you assemble and wire it in such a way that you can pull that entire center panel out; you'll be very glad you did. My center panel is tied to breakers on either side and in retrospect I wish I hadn't had Aerotronics build it that way. Highly recommend Aerotronics and Garmin though; both great companies to work with.
I am beginning to see what a big job it is going to be, I will isolate everything to the panel and plan on making an avionics door in the forward storage area, I will piano hinge it for access. Hoping this will be plug and play with a harness made from a template. We are trying to use the TruTrak autopilot servos with a Garmin control head, NMEA out or something similar. I will post a video of the avionics as I get them! Thanks for watching!
LMAO no one needs this terrible case
Sold thousands, have a great day!
Half power takeoff?
Almost.... The throttle is halfway, not the engine RPM's, if you go full throttle with the prop forward you will exceed the engine manufacturers recommendation of RPM's for takeoff. Had two CFI's and two separate A&P mechanics tell me the same. The prop and engine will exceed their limits easily. This airport is 427 AGL. No need to go past redline. 👍
Reduced power takeoffs are common occurrence at airlines, saves on engine wear and maintenance, full TO power is only used when the runway length makes it necessary…
@@michaeldautry I know that, but that is not what is happening here. As he explained above, he is getting max power without the throttle being pushed all the way forward.
@timhegg2177 I was taking off at 427' MSL, solo, the airplane is 1,047 pounds, with an IO-360-A1A (180 HP) the throttle was not all of the way up, I had sufficient, full power for takeoff and there is no need to go to 2,700 RPM during this takeoff, it is different than a Cessna Vernier throttle control, it does not need to be firewalled to get "max power" I will be removing my audio out of my future flights to avoid any confusion. Thanks for the reply. Fly safe!

It is incredible, 48 megapixels and macro as well as zoom. Low light capability and built in stabilization, it is capable of 4K video at 60 fps.
