@@mattpiano7 Actually I just checked, and nearly all scholars of musical history are now in agreement the eight "Kleine Präludien und Fugen, BWV 553-560" are not in fact written by J.S. Bach. Arguments have been advanced in favor of Bach's pupil Johann Ludwig Krebs, his father Johann Tobias Krebs, Bach's eldest son Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Franz Anton Maichelbeck, Johann Caspar Simon and (most recently) the Bohemian composer Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer.

Thank you for doing this. I am 88 and grew up in the Evangelical Covenant Church. This hymn came out of iits roots and I learned and sang it every year ibn Swedich growing up. It reflects in a simple way the real meaning of graditurde--not only "the roses but the thorns their stems provide."
