I lost my job because of my socially awkward self. I was always offending people without knowing it. The supervisors would meet with me about something I said or did and I was always completely blind sided...like I seriously had no clue that I did anything wrong. Alsowith dating... guess like me at first then when they get to know me...the real 'not trying so hard to make you like me' Me. They call me crazy and call it quits and again I am so confused cause I never saw it coming. Every time I open my mouth I screw stuff up...

Awesome video mate! Glad you're continuing to make them :) It's cool knowing there's other New Zealand guys who find the same social things hard too! I'm almost perfectly fine if someone starts a convo but if they don't I'm exactly the same as you haha, I just won't be able to do a thing and I'll be awkward asssssssssssssss xD it's quite odd! My anxiety formed/got shocking due to suergeries too, you tend to be shut away and you miss out on a lot of social activities and experiences, so when you eventually get into such situations you're behind others on a social level I guess? I was recovering from surgeries for two years, missed my last year of school and my first university year was pretty shocking haha. It does get better though over time if you keep practicing though :). And yes, it's great to have escapes! Mine was movies, video games and my (ex) girlfriend at the time. you're totally right about trying to not rely on the escapes though, as once they're gone and once you're wanting to do more you need to be able to cope without them - which is pretty tricky!

I always have the problem of putting names to faces... it happens a lot. When you were talking about the reasons why you left studies, it sounded like you were starting to get choked up and I felt awful... just want you to know that I'm still remaining loyal :) I'm quite busy at the moment cos I've just started my first placement for this year, but I just want you to know that I'm still here if you wanted to chat. I haven't forgotten about how you were there to talk when I got a lot of anxiety about my studies :)

Oh man, hearing about your lowest point was awful... just made me think about how hard it must have been for you :( Hmm... I'm sorta on the fence with the online vs. face to face. I used to pretty much always talk to people online when I lived with my family and while I was in Blenheim, but nowadays I'm starting to develop more and more confidence talking to people face to face through my studies, if that makes sense? I do still isolate myself though if I feel like I screwed up big time :/ just retreat to my room and either get angry at myself or just cry.

Talking online is definitely easier. You don't really have to worry about body language, your voice nor having awkward silence while you think of what to say. There are good and bad things for both really, but I think online is easier.
