Giant Teapot - DYI
มุมมอง 10K10 ปีที่แล้ว
How to make a giant teapot. Spray paint and decorate as desired. Handle and spouts are made from Styrofoam heart wreaths from any hobby store I used the large wreath for handles and large and/or medium for spouts.
What did you use for your adhesive. I'm assuming e6000?
@@zns72 actually, I just used a hot glue gun. It melts the Styrofoam a bit, but it makes it mold even better into the teapot.
❤❤
How to make handles
Walmart or Hobby lobby buy a Styrofoam heart and cut it in half and trim further to connect to your cup. I have another video on that. I’ll see if I can find it for you.
th-cam.com/video/w_kDwvOTuIc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=79eUn9x9MvGYd-Nh This shows the Styrofoam hearts cut a little bit better so you can imagine how to do it. I used hot glue to put them on. It melts the Styrofoam, but it works just great and hold very well.

What did you use to make the handles
If you glued two big bowls together you could add the handle and boom giant tea pot! Too! Thank you this helped me so much with a project I'm doing!
Awesome video!! May I purchase these tea pots from you? Please. Let's chat!!🎉😊
Andrea Crouch -- LOVE this. Want to make these for backyard planters - real plants. Looked everywhere. Can you show how you made the handles? Can you make even bigger!? Love the bright colors best. Ooops! found the post about the handles!! Ignore that part!
Wtf is this stupid looking dance club
Is that a jumbo margarita glass?
Where did you buy the pots for the cups
Lowe’s
These are awesome!!! Your imagination is on steroids! I like them all!
different sizes will look great.
Love this idea! What is the handle made out of?
Hi Heidi! Handles are made of Styrofoam heart wreaths from Hobby Lobby, Walmart or any craft store. Get the size you think and a size smaller and extra if you overcut. Crack the heart in half, then cut/shave it down to the size of your cup with a small paring knife. Get it pretty close to flush and then hot glue it on. The hot glue will melt the Styrofoam somewhat but just hang on to it and press into the cup. It will stay and actually, kind of mold to fit!
Do you have a video of making this tea cups?
I'm sorry. I do not. Good luck! Get a sharp paring knife and hot glue gun. I think if you read through the comments I've added instruction. The handles are styrofoam hearts snapped in half and I cut to fit from walmart or any craft store then hot glued onto cup!
You just saved my daughter's surprise birthday haha. Ordered an oversized tea pot for her "fairy in the garden" theme party and it arrived busted. Is it safe to call you a hero, cause you're my hero right now haha
Ha!😆Way to go, girl!💪🏻
Wow how wonderfully creative thank you for the video !
These are stunning! Do you recall the size of the big plastic pot? I’m a photographer + my son’s first birthday is the day after Christmas so I’m planning on doing a shoot with one and making it like a hot chocolate mug he’s sitting in :)
Gosh, I'm not sure probably 18 - 24 inches across. Go check them out at lowes or home depot. The styles have changed over the last couple of years but still super similar. With Christmas up at the stores I dont know where they will be but outside for sure. They are usually on their own display tree with all colors. Good luck. Let me know if you need help! A.
@@andreacrouch36 Thank you for responding 🤍
@@yvetteaguirre444 -- Amen! SOOOOO many posters don't reply. 🙄
Where did you get that hot pink planter, I can’t find anything like it anywhere? And I have heard you say HGB, but only can find some vintage home boutique- not a place I think you would find several plastic planters. Please help:)
how can I order
I’m so sorry. I don’t make them for distribution. I just did them for one production a few years ago. I wish there was some place you could buy them done because people use them for a lot of things!
Thank you for replying. Maybe I can make my own if you don’t mind telling me where u bought the items and everything you used my email is shardaymccollough@gmail.com .... I got a inquiry about a giant teacup photo shoot with a little baby so I’m just trying to do them
Sharday McCollough Read my feed in the comments below from other people I’ve answered all of those questions if you have any more please ask the parts are from Home Depot they’re cheap plastic pots are usually in the garden center on an end Tree the handles are Styrofoam hearts broken in half from any craft store even Walmart I use hot glue to put them on
can you contact me please janetleighphotography@gmail.com
Where did you find the rounded pots?? I can't find them anywheeerreee
I got them at Lowes garden center outside on a display tree. They still had them last year but slightly different colors. You do have to saw the rims off of the top. I think Home Depot has them as well! I'm so sorry I don't have pics of the finished products on set! They were awesome. you can text or facetime me if you have questions building them. 801-554-1348
Precious!! I’m working on a Alice and wonderland birthday party and love this idea. I’m almost positive I saw a link to the pots on one of your videos yesterday but now I can’t seem to find it. Am I going crazy or have I just watched too many TH-cam videos? Lol... can you point me in the right direction?
Ha! I get it. Here's the link for the teapot. th-cam.com/video/w_kDwvOTuIc/w-d-xo.html
and the teacups. th-cam.com/video/Ji0GvqnIabY/w-d-xo.html you can call or facetime me if you need help. 801-554-1348
That’s so sweet of you. Thank you!! ... Did I see a link to purchase the flower pots somewhere? A link that would take me to Home Depot’s or Lowes website? When I just look it up on the website myself I can’t seem to find anything similar but whatever link I hit the initial day I watched these videos had taken me to it. I should’ve just placed my order that first day.
@@chancimoore6204 Here's the link. they've changed the coloring over the last few years. In every store I've been to (even different states) they usually have them stacked on an end cap "tree" by the door that goes from garden center to interior of the store. Get a saw to saw off the top ridges. here's the hearts. you can find them anywhere including walmart. take pot with you to get the right size. its smaller than you think if I recall. www.joann.com/floracraft-1-1-4inx12in-styrofoam-heart-1pk-white/1301878.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIv9uHzceO6wIVBdbACh339QZqEAQYAyABEgI4y_D_BwE
I like both sizes. The pink ones I would leave like they are but maybe make white polka dots on them. The brown one I would paint it white. Maybe paint simple flowers on them or use plain. How did you make the handles?
The handles are Styrofoam hearts that I cut in half and hot glued on to the pots. Had to shave each end of the heart to fit the side of the pot but it doesn’t have to be perfect because it melts quite a bit and shapes well. Thanks

Wow you are really good at this. I wished you had post more diy videos !!
Bianca Read Thank you, Bianca. There’s a teacup video I did out there as well if you need that. I did so many productions when my kids were performing in high school and college but haven’t done anything since. Bored and living with empty nest syndrome now.🤦🏻♀️😆
This is an Excellent idea... You are soooo smart... ,,, but it would have been nice to SEE the finished one.
Judi Christopher , thank you! AgreedI so should have taken the time. If I run across some production photos I’ll have to post it. I ended up doing two for Allison Wonderland set it was a gorgeous set
I'm serious, you are soooo talented... I am an Acting Teacher. and Art Teacher.. and we're always doing our own props... I can't wait to SEE more of your talent. Thank you for responding so quickly.... Keep up the GREAT and BEAUTIFUL work.

I’ve looked for production pictures and I can’t find any if you can imagine.
How did you remove the base of dispenser? Looks amazing? And where did you find the styrofoam hearts? Thanks
Jennifer Cornell Hi J, hearts at hobby lobby, Michaels even Walmart sometimes. If you are referring to the base of giant teapot dispenser, the ones I purchased at Walmart actually just screwed off. How easy is that?!
Hi again this is awesome love it just saw how you did the handle
How do you do handle
Hi Andrea where did you get the holders or what did you use a holders let me know thank you
Hi. I posted another video illustrating the teapot I made with the same handles. The handles are Styrofoam heart wreaths that I simply break in half and then trim with a very sharp knife to fit the main shape. I use hot glue to attach and it works great. by them at hobby lobby or michaels. The teapot is obviously more fragile and awkward than the cups if you are using it on a set. Send me your email if you want to see the primer painted finished product. andrea@sharpr.com thanks! A.
What size Margarita glass? How many ounces was that one??? Having a hard time finding one that big
Hi Amy, I don't' know the oz on this cup. I got it at Walmart. They always have them. Usually located around the wedding/party/gift wrap/greeting card aisles. Some are colored some clear. I dont see the exact one online although perhaps like this one but clear. they are probably about 8 inches high like these but clear. Good luck! you are genius!! Thank you!
Great cups! What are the handles made out of?
th-cam.com/video/Ji0GvqnIabY/w-d-xo.html Styrofoam hearts. Just snap them in half and shave with a knife to make them fit your container and hot glue them on. The glue melts the syrofoam a bit but just hold it on firmly for about one minute and it works great. Good Luck!
here's another project with the hearts that might help th-cam.com/video/w_kDwvOTuIc/w-d-xo.html

These are so cool!
+Ron Brunk Thank you!
Can you provide more details on how you made these? Or do you sell these? I need a few of them. Please let me know. Thanks!
+Ron Brunk Hi Ron. Sorry, I don't sell these. Go to Lowes, buy one of these plastic pots, cut or saw off the top edge. Buy a Styrofoam heart at Hobby Lobby Walmart or Michaels and break it in half for the handle. You will need to shave it off to fit the pot. Then hot glue it on. Super easy. For the cream, I covered the pot insert with brown fabric with hot glue added the small rope and used scrapbook paper for the tag. Glue the rope to the bottom and then glue in the "cream" base. Have fun!

Hi Andrea, Awesome video! Great idea I've been looking everywhere on how to make giant tea cups for an Alice and Wonderland party I'm planning... What did you use for the handle? (Is it the heart Styrofoam you mentioned in another video?) And what did you use to glue it with? Please Help.
Hi VaLa. Yes, The handles are the Styrofoam craft hearts (Hobby Lobby or any craft store, even Walmart sometimes) broken or cut in half. There are 3 different sizes I think I used mainly the medium for the pink pot size and I ended up making a bunch of small teacups with small sized hearts and small pots. You will need to cut handle down a few times to get it to fit your bowl/pot with just the right angle. Buy a few extra. Use a super sharp knife, it's easier than a hot foam cutter, just use a cutting board and be careful. I used a hot glue gun to bond it together. Yes, the glue will melt foam a bit but less than you would assume. Put the glue on the pot not directly on the foam and press and hold handle for about 2 - 3 minutes. I noticed they still have some of these exact pots in Lowes stores here in the south. I spray painted some of them pure flat white that covered in about 3 coats. Let me know if you have any more questions. Good Luck!
❤ cute
