      I’m leaving tomorrow for philmont and the adults going on my trek say we will most likely be able to bring our own 1 person tents.

    Great video. Answered a lot of my questions. Did you have any kind of coffee on your trek at Philmont?

      @peedeeoutdoors2975 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I used Starbuck sleeves, PSR will give you Nescafe sleeves but the Starbucks are much better.

    11 pounds...Wow, I was on 720S2 from troop 179. My base weight was 48.5, and I fought to get down to that, and swear I had a lot of the same gear. The Ghost whisperer, exofficios, Duce, the trail socks. Well done.

    I got wildfired last year (2018) so didn’t get to go. I lost 28pounds in prep for the trip. I had a 15 pound baseweight. Gonna try to do autumn adventures fall 2020. Thanks for the list. Might make a few changes to my load.

    How did philmont go? What size zpacks backpack did you use? Philmont wants people to carry a bigger backpack than zpacks makes, did you have any issues with the smaller pack? Did you have to carry any of the crew gear that philmont hands out to crews? If you carried crew gear how much weight did that add. thanks.

    • @peedeeoutdoors2975
      @peedeeoutdoors2975 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the Arc Blast 55L, I carried one of the crew stoves (jetboil) and 3 extra fuel canisters, one of the bear ropes, the oops carabiner and one bear bag. My set up was great, with 2 1/2 days of food and 5L of water I was at 33 pounds total at my heaviest and 28 pounds on average.

    • @bluemopar1970
      @bluemopar1970 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@peedeeoutdoors2975 Thank you for the quick answer. So your 12 pound base pack weight jumped an extra 21 pounds. That is good to know, so it is best to go as light as possible. My only concern (money wise), that I have, is that I have a perfect kelty 80 backpack that will hold everything and more but it is 5.5lbs. Those 3 extra pounds is almost a half gallon of water. I have another kelty that is a 50 liter at 3.5 pounds, but it just SEEMS too small for a 12 day trek. The gregory packs are the size but still heavier, still looking at a zpacks or a hyperlite. thanks!

    Very nice! We're going next year, too and I'm trying to go light. I have a Duplex, Arc Haul and Zpacks bag in my big three. Have you put your gear list in www.lighterpack.com yet? Do you think the smaller Anker plus solar is better than just a larger Anker battery? If the weather is bad, the solar would be a concern of mine. Here's my work in progress list: lighterpack.com/r/1y08fv
