This was recorded during fasting! This is all about experiencing fat adapted energy, which works during a fast to keep stored body fat running as fuel for the body. #carnivore #carnivorediet #fatadapted #nocarbs #zerocarb #fasting
Challenges figuring out carnivore eating, and the hidden secrets of fat adaptation
มุมมอง 196 หลายเดือนก่อน
I recorded this 4 days in fasting. I talk about how simple carnivore sounded at the beginning and then how I worked though understanding my body's hunger signals, satiety and most of all, developing fat adaptation! There are hidden secrets to fat adaptation, two really big ones I talk about here. Plus the effect on your gut microbiome. Fat adapted is where it is at! #carnivore #carnivorediet #f...

Tallow from mutton suet made easy
มุมมอง 687 หลายเดือนก่อน
A short introduction to the process of making Tallow! This amazing food can be made from beef or lamb (ruminant animals for tallow) Interestingly a pig is not a ruminant animal and lard is rendered but it is considered a grease instead of tallow. Both are great for frying and one source said tallow has a high smoke point of 400 degrees Fahrenheit; just exceeding lards smoke point of 374. Tallow...

    Been Carnivore a year and a half, my staple is frozen ground beef (95% of the time), I cook my ground beef (completely frozen) in the microwave, half power on an 800 watt microwave for 8 - 10 minutes. I've never, in that time had any issues, and definitely never had food poisoning. It saves time, extra washing (a skillet) I cook it in my eating bowl, it also saves on energy costs.

    As a life long binge eater, being addicted to food, and now diabetic…I find not snacking or “taste testing” key. Once I start, it’s hard to stop. So I’m learning discipline. I feel best best on carnivore and get super excited when my ketone levels are high and blood sugar levels are low! However, I don’t share what (when or how often) I eat with family, friends, or even my doctor as they wouldn’t get it. But I feel at my best now and have lost 50 pounds in the last 3 months. Enjoy your videos and find them very informative!

    did u experience low energy when u first started carnivore. i find hiking up hills tough. 2 weeks in.

    • @DarrinBang
      @DarrinBang 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had a lot going on when I started eating carnivore. I noticed it took a bit of time to adjust my energy levels, at first I felt like meals didn't "feel like they were working" to provide energy, and my appetite took some time to adjust. Low electrolytes hit me hard in the first several weeks. Becoming Fat Adapted is awesome, it is totally the goal! Hang in there, you might try shorter hikes that you can do and build up gradually. On OMAD I now work out 20 to 22 hours after my last meal. Fat Adapted unlocks energy that is not available for a Carb Adapted physiology! If you think about it, reply in several more weeks. Let us know how fat adapted does for you

    Darrin, what sort of iodine drops are you using? I need magnesium and potassium, so I'll find a multivitamin that has what I need.

      Hi, I use the brand "Heritage Store" a nascent colloidal Iodine. So far I'm happy with it. Magnesium and potassium are something I supplement (night leg cramps motivated that) an Electrolyte blend is what you will be looking for. Stay tuned, soon I'll make a video of a homemade Electrolyte blend

    ive been doing the carnivore diet for60 days now and my depression has lifted and my sleep apnea has calmed so much i can get a good 8 hrs sleep, also im now down to OMAD (one meal a day) and what i eat is 4 whisked eggs and 4 slices of bacon in the one pan, so its like a bacon omelette that and two cups of coffee is all i eat

    • @DarrinBang
      @DarrinBang 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am glad to hear of your story getting these results. Sounds like you are happy with OMAD, your calorie intake sounds really low(even if weight loss is your goal stay healthy). I love eggs. Ruminant animals have their place in a carnivores food selection. Of course that is up to you. People are testing out all kinds of animal foods. Keep researching, and success for you on your health journey

      It has only been 5 months of eating this way. Lots of benefits that I like. Originally I decided on a 3 month trial for this way of eating, at three months the benefits were so many that I am continuing. Top benefits for me: Improved appetite regulation, decreased cravings. More satisfied after a meal, satiety! At my ideal weight, finally! Decreased inflammation Steady continuous energy throughout the day Extended intermittent fasting is easier, way easier Less time consumed with meals and cooking Less nasal congestion, breath easier Mood and emotional regulation are much improved Working out has more gains and progress Digestion is excellent, as long as I eat before evening (not sleeping with a full stomach) Those are just the top things, thanks for the question. I will make another video reviewing benefits around the 6 month time (I like to test out changes in eating for a fair time before sharing results)

    Just for information, if you're interested: those grit numbers on those stones are incredibly inaccurate, comparing to the Japanese stones, especially in the finer stones. That 8000 stone is much coarser than a medium grit 2000 Shapton Pro, for example.

    • @DarrinBang
      @DarrinBang 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DarrinBang I am a little bit lately.) I'm glad if this was interesting or somehow helpful; I personally was very much surprised when I discovered that. Also a bit of information I find pretty interesting - you can find those Japanese Shapton kits of three stones at a price comparable to the ones you're using in this video. They'll be small, of course, but they'll have true grit numbers and the result you can achieve from Shapton 12000 grit combined with strapping using Dialux paste, for example, is pretty beautiful, I would say. The coarse stone wears pretty fast, unfortunately, due to its size, but the medium and fine ones can give pretty interesting experience.
