Hello All... I passed my test and now how can I help you

It's all about money, money, money.

Thanks. It is real for me. My wife passed in June 2022 after suffering MS for 26 years. We were married 51 years. I was her carer for 23 years. She moved into a nursing home nearby for the last three years. Handing over her care to other people was very difficult for me initially. She was unable to ambulate for the last 15 years. In many ways my grieving has been going on for many years. Her passing was a huge relief for her. We built two houses over the years to help meet her needs. I now have a room full of equipment we used over all the years. I believe I am coping fairly well. My grieving is different for several reasons. However I have had pneumonia and a heart attack as a direct result of being her carer for so long has affected my immune system significantly. My wife was very accepting of the fact that I am gay and always was. I am not sexually active and I am not looking to form a relationship with anyone. I would like to start to do some travel soon. It has something I have never been able to do before. As she neared the end I thanked her for accepting me as her gay husband. She said "Of course. That was easy. Why wouldn't I?". She was very special. But I am now free to be who I am.

I know Angela from many years ago, and am so proud to see her as a CSA. I live in California but met her at a networking event and was so impressed, I never forgot her. It warms my heart to see her still helping people, still caring, and still with a big heart. I'm motivated to look into the CSA program. Keep up the great work Angela!

Beautiful idea and congrats for carrying your experience further with this education. I am sure you were a God send to your Grandma!! and you are certain to be for others!

Her ideology is amongst the mkst dangerous I have seen in my lifetime. She seem to be honest and genuine, and only means well which is why this is such a dangerous way of thinking. Problem is there are two ends of the spectrum, those that applaud her, and those that see how dangerous this is for our future and neither side will change there viewpoints. This is why Sharia law exists..... sad

Todd is a rock star! Denver is very luck to have him as a trusted advisor in the housing solution space for seniors. He said everything I would have said about CSA and having my own certification. San Diego here he comes...the beaches are waiting for you Todd.

The holistic approach in helping elders, especially when considering a move, is invaluable. Since most elders prefer to "age in place", it is important to get professional opinions as to the feasibility of staying in the current home, even from a real estate professional. Of course, we realtors are seen as ready to "plant the sign in the yard". An SRES will be more thoughtful and objective in helping the elder and the family consider the option of aging in place, if that is the elder's want, and help them connect with the other CSA professionals who may or may not recommend it.

SCSA offers its CSAs so many tools and benefits! Understanding what they are and how to access them is critical.

Utilizing someone that has a more comprehensive understanding of all issues seniors face is so important when approaching senior care and services.

Certified Senior Advisors are involved in so many issues and causes affecting older adults and it is important that we all hear about the good work CSAs are doing. Don't hesitate to come forward and let us know what you are doing to help seniors - be the inspiration for others!

Great video. I was caring for a loved one, Rose, who suffered with dementia! I was untrained and unprepared for what I was to experience. It was like she left her body and an evil spirit came into her body just to cause havoc. I wondered who was in my home and what did they do with Rose. Caregiving is dangerous if we do not take care of ourselves. This is great information on a very serious subject! Thank you.

Kathleen - I agree with you. The 3 day live classroom course was very educational. I also enjoyed networking with other professional in the senior industry!
