THE BEST PART U R FEEDING BIRDS , AWESOME ...
In the winter when there is snow on the ground it's very difficult for birds to find food.
@@OutdoorsMyLife THAT'S Y I SAID THE BEST PART IS FEEDING BIRDS
Nice!!
Thanks
Looks like a real nice camp.
Thanks, really loving the extra space a wall tent provides
Finally some snow, time to get into the woods to do some winter camping
I have watched this video many times. Simple and strong. Thank you for posting!
Thanks
That is a total failure of a all night self feeding fire. Period
@@rchristie5401 Thanks for the comment
I never understood why the fire doesn't climb up to all the other logs just like an attic fire climbs up an inclined roof.
@@MrCabimero It’s hardwood and not completely dry, the angle of the ramp is important too
amzing video keep it up
@@KeeraSquad Thanks
Hello and good morning. Iam also from sw Ontario nice to see people out using the property 👍
I think I would have cleaned the deck before setting up the tent.
How do you keep the air from blowing in between the bottom of the tent and the floor? Is there a way to seal between the tent and the floor?
I want to know that too!
You can never seal it completely, but when using a wood stove you need some air coming into your tent anyway.
Looks awesome man, gonna be real cozy in there. it’s basically a whole cabin! Look forward to your hot tenting content this year 👍
@@AndrewBeane98 Thanks
Looks good! Do you have plans to scrub that wood deck? Looks slippery.
@@innergoof19 Thanks, you’re right that deck is slippery
Sorry *embar* still stupid
This guy is a amber away from a really big and really warm forest fire… idiot!!
How is the ole bell tent holding up after all these years? Such a cool setup im building my own now
Also I’m curious what you’re wood stove Is elevated on
@@AndrewBeane98 Just a plywood box I made.
Three years is how long it lasted, I'm replacing it this year. I live in a climate that is damp a lot of the time, unless you live in a dry climate you may want to take it down and put it in a dry place if you are not using it.
@ I look forward to seeing it thanks for sharing
Well done.
@@danielnason1955 Thanks
Hey man I like your videos and your bell tent set up and it’s inspired me to make a similar set up my question is have mice been a problem and chewed through your tent at all?
Mice haven't been a problem for me.
Want some burger with your tomato?
Sure
Hi. Great vid and great stove. I was given one of these stoves only a couple of weeks ago. It’s great, but I noticed on lighting it, that air was getting in around the front door glass and controlling the air flow was a little tricky just using the bottom smaller door. I took the glass out and stuck some real flat stove ribbon onto it. I also added some to the inside of the larger door and doing this made a far better seal. The air control then was a lot more ‘controlled’. All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧😉
Yeah the door is not air tight but I don't see that as much of a problem since you always need some air getting in or the fire goes out. Might be a problem if you need a small amount of heat in warmer temps but I live in Canada so it is almost always cold when I use it.
@@OutdoorsMyLifeYour fuel will last longer…with a better seal.👍🏾
@@Soggz7785 You are right, I have so much wood that it is unlikely that I will ever run out.
@@OutdoorsMyLife Probably not, but you will get a more economical burn too.👍🏾
@@Soggz7785 I agree
Good idea for the wood rack by the door!
It's handy when you don't want to much cold air getting in, you can get the wood into the tent very fast
It’s also the best way to feed squirrels 😂
Squirrels need to eat too
Except for the hot tent feature, it’s just like the Soul Pad. We have a 12/13 ft Soul Pad that we take to Medieval events and Renaissance Festivals. I absolutely love the built in ground cover.
Ground covers are great
Amazing ! Thank you for your tips 😁 Cheers from south of France 🇫🇷
Glad you enjoyed it!
Do you not have to screw the joists to the frame? ANd use joist hangers? I just came back from the hardware store with a gazillion dollars worth of bolts, etc al. as a result of direction from the hardware employee.
It’s not necessary but if you have to get an inspection done you may need to go that way. If you are building a deck on your property in the woods using nails will work just fine
@@OutdoorsMyLife Thank you! I do not need an inspection, my platform is only 4 x 9 1/2 feet and yes, out in the woods!
One of my favourite times to fish for smallmouth bass is the fall, you know the fishing season is about to end and there is a long wait for it to open again.
I live in Southwestern ON as well, you are lucky to own land....I hate they we don't live closer to crown land
@@bracoworks People who live farther up north are lucky that there is land they can use for free
I've paddled the Maitland river in spring. We put in at Auburn and took out at Balls bridge....was a great paddle. I recognize some of the paddling spots in your videos....as I also live in SW Ontario.
@@wendybestward4299 It’s a beautiful river
Quite a roaring fire. That is a great camp setup.
Thanks
I don't carry steel poles when I go into the back country
Most people don't, but if you have them there use them, they won't burn
Love it . Thinking of doing the same But How did you get all that wood to the site? Trail or road nearby? UTV? Power tools used at all? Battery powered or generator?
For part of the year I have access to the site with my truck, I have to cross a farmers field to get there
Thanks for the video. Do you find it works well without the heat protector pipe and flash kit? I got a medium size one and really don’t want to have to install a flash kit in my tent..
The flash kit is not necessary but it will keep rain water from running down the pipe.
I got the same stove with the triple wall chimney protector. I bought the flashing kit as well but I didn’t want to use it if I didn’t have to.
6 month rainy season here in Hawaii and its lovely like this, warm rain, and relaxing nights!
Sounds great!
Amazing content. Mahalo❤
Thanks glad you enjoyed it
Exactly what im doing now in hawaii with the 6mm tent. No snow, no cold, its heavenly ❤ been tenting 6 years and this is my upgrade from the Costco Car Tent. DO IT!!!❤❤❤ rainy, so I built a wood cover for heavy Pvc tarp, no wet floors🎉 20x25 are my dimensions. Great Lanai aka porch for ☕
Sounds great!
I live in Hawaii with a 6mm bell tent. In the tropics a tent cover is needed and easy to build with tinber in your firest. Adds YEARS to your tent and keeps it clean and mildew free
Good idea
Heres a hint: unzip the floor half way around. Its easier to get the center pole in a minutepecially with bigger. I have 6mm bell tent
I will try that next time
Hey! Just like me in a way.
Enjoy
That is the first time I have seen it done like that it is simpler I like it.
Thanks
How do you get access to that spot? I’m looking for spots to take my kids
It will be difficult to take kids to that spot if they are young, I use any access spot like a bridge and then wade the river, not an easy hike, need to be in shape but the effort is worth it to get to good fishing spots.
@@OutdoorsMyLife gotcha, I crossed the menesetung bridge & went down closest to the left under the bridge this weekend. I caught a couple small mouth bass, the kids enjoyed it!
@@Triggerhappylol There is almost always fish near bridges, a good place to take kids fishing. Benmiller is another place you might like to try
How long does the wood last for
@@josephfox7688 About 2 to 3 hours, hardwood lasts longer than softwood
0:45 I saw a mouse come out
He went back in again too, never could get rid of him
I'm with you on catch and release! I've been having lots of fun this summer on the Maitland and have managed a few 18" fish. But considering that fish might be 10+ years old, I just can't bring myself to keep them. I'd rather that they be there the next time too!
You should always release bass on the Maitland, there are really not as many bass there as you think there is
Things like this should be required learning in middle and high schools.
Happy you enjoyed the video
At the beginning I saw that rodent go hopping off on the drone shot of the front. Are the rodents hard to keep out of these things?
I have always had problems keeping mice out of my tent
I love that you take the care to feed the birds. Subscribed. :)
If you don't feed them they won't be there
I spend a couple of days fishing for river smallmouth bass in the Maitland river
45 seconds into the video your pet mouse escaped.
@@kevman0111 He came back home
@@OutdoorsMyLife lol those buggers always do
How easy was it to wade the river, was it decently shallow?
During bass fishing season the river very easy to wade
