Aurizon Services in South Australia - Late 2017
They were pretty good back then, I used to call them Superchooks since they replaced the older 300 - 400 series Red Hen railcars.
what a waste, i would have bought one for my acreage in the foothills
Watching the Jumbos get destroyed should have a warning " This video may cause some distress." I remember when they were first released, they were at the time, such a step up from the Redhens. My late father in law drove the first official Jumbo with all officials and pollies on board.
Hi Justin. I hope all is well with you. It’s Rowan Kinnane from Tassie, I have been meaning to contact you for some time as we haven’t spoken for quite a while. A couple of years ago you posted me a disc with your footage of SteamRanger’s 621 in action on the Southern Encounter climbing the grade through Philcox Hill and at Strathalbyn. I was wondering, would it be possible if I could please upload it to my TH-cam channel on its own? I try to cover 621 as much as possible as it’s been a favourite of mine for many years, and I plan to cover it more in the future. I can make sure to give your channel a mention. Thank you very much Justin. I hope you are still keeping well, and I look forward to talking more in the near future. Best regards Rowan.
I wanna cry
Nice vid! This train sounded amazing, I got it twice closer to Adelaide but this tops both of mine, it just sounds so good!
Awesome . . .
Always nice to see a new video from you after so long. Killer combo! Matt
0:29 V/line bluebird! Went on the Gippsland line and was a failure.
Nice locomotives
Great video, great to see the GM's & 830's when they were running in service
Great video, especially with the C & CLF's bringing up the rear of the SCT freight
Would could have been a great line for the museum…
Great video, did 703 end up getting preserved?
Great video mate, also great to see 701 is preserved these days, along with 704, where abouts is 705 these days?
At The Peterborough railway museum I'm pretty sure
This is on Railroad Australia.
Old S.A, it is true, some of these railway sights are no longer possible, the Rosewater loop was dual gauge and the Outer Harbor line was also converted to dual gauge from Rosewater to Glanville to the Birkenhead loop, that's why freight trains traveled through the passenger line, the Mary Mckillop bridge took away those freight trains to the other route, Loxton and Pinaroo grain trains and those heavy, old locomotives which produced so much smoke are not possible on freight trains that much today, 1 loco freight trains are also not possible today, much has changed since today, best footage, do you have the footage of the 3000 class railcar/2000 class jumbos charters that ran to Riverton and Barossa till 2003 or the old suburban system at various locations, if you have, please upload, good video
🚂🚂🚂👍👍👍
You haven't posted for a long time
Now this is cool.
The last one on the curve is a beauty, pity about all the graffiti.
Thanks.
When the Melbourne Adelaide line was being gauge converted I understood a red hen travelled to Korumburra via Pinnaroo to b e part of the South Gippsland tourist trains. I don't know if it travelled under it's own power or was part of a freight. There was no through freight so it might have been attached to a freight train from each side of the border. I'm not sure if there were passengers official or not.
They ran under their own power from Adelaide right through to Korumburra. At the time Adelaide to Melbourne freight services were being diverted through that line.
Was only one engine running?
1st, 2nd and 4th units were running.
how long did it take for the trip to Pt. Lincoln from Kimba ??
I'm not sure.
Bloody Wonderfull video I was there when it started running I chased it all the way to Port Augusta I got 100 photos of it cheers ❤️👍👍💪🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺🍺
The location of the first shot, I wonder if that was the location of the old National Park railway station on the Bridgewater Line
What a wasteful state this is. No regional trains. Buses suck.
1:40,,, best job in the world 💪💪💪😎😎
wow! I remember in 1975 thereabouts I would walk from Standen St Murray Bridge and jump on the Blue Bird to my sisters place in Tintinara, I was 13 and travelled by myself both ways....... my first train trips just completed the Northern Italy and Swiss Network and from Barcelona to Valencia... along way from this caboose
I use to love riding the RedHens.
@ least they had decent music to listen to, not distracted in carrying out their duties, gr8 vid, shame there's no service on the line anymore
Interesting... So was this like a chartered train trip? I used to live in Yongala
Only found this today, what a waste of a rail line these days, going to ruin, no use,
I agree. That line could potentially be a vital link between Mildura and Adelaide. Whether it is for passanger or freight. Given there are no direct busses between Adelaide and Mildura, this line could do an excellent job to fill the gap while also connecting the (growing) regional towns. Existing bus linik takes over 10 hours!! I would prefer travelling on a train over a bus or even driving, any day.
The roads are suffering as a result.
christ what happened to EL56?? did they leave it out in the sun for 10 years?
I hope one day they restore the 55class Brill at the NRM and short rides within the grounds, and a guard ringing a hand held bell like they did down Semaphore Rd, I miss those days
Nice bit of history there. Thanks
I’m curious, for pacific national freight train heading to Adelaide. A G542 was leading freight with 3 other locos, I have never seen that train leading a G542 on a pacific national freight
Can I use some of this footage for a history video I’m gonna make I will credit you Btw Great video:D
It is sad.... Would love to see the line revamped and fright and passenger service between Adelaide and Mildura on this line via Ouyen. I hear some of The Overland's coaches are sitting idle.. 😅 Well.... one can dream.
So the line is no longer used by anything?
4:09 The “sweet sweet” sound of roof fans, traction motors & grinding 😂
Did well, pity the grinding drowns out a lot of the exhaust noise at the above location
What about the 4000 classes
Great video! Thanks!
😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 I hate the government
I hate dit
This is ridiculous
Its So Sad, I Miss them, I Always on Ride on them in the Gawler Line while I was Little.
