Top Secret
Here's a Super 8mm classic from my past called "Top Secret". Made in the early 1980s, by my friends and I. We shot most of it in camera, no editing or knowledge of Continuity, Screen Direction or the 180 degree rule. Enjoy!

Kinda weird how at 5:12 the animation gets crazy good. Not that it wasn’t good before, but it just goes REALLY good. Like, Disney good animation.
The farther you go into the Jittlovian tornado, the more you find. The film is stuffed to the eyeballs with subliminal messages; even the Jumping Wall sequence has messages with each foot landing on the wall closeup.
Ok first of all if y'all are noticing Ronald before the end is clearly touching a young boys ass rubbing and slapping it I'm mean come on really why would are beloved fast food clown do something so horrible to a child sexual battery
I'm going to make Puppets next year
Can't wait to see them!
hi Jim guess what
I wonder how many sheets of paper this is is in total. The animators must have been working for months. 😂
Lots and lots and a lot more after that.
Didnt Jon k work on this or sum?
I am not sure. It looks very Jon K inspired, but the animating looks very rough in some places.
I remember Don Arioli from Canadian Sesame Street segments back in the 80's. I used to call him the fast forward man as some of the segments he was in were sped up. I never knew his name untill 2005 when he passed and his obituary was in the Globe & Mail newspaper with a photo and I recognized him.
I didn't know he did the voices in the short as well.
RIIIIGHT!
Loved it! Excellent angles, shots, cuts, and tripods, even! Hand-helds! Great job! Look out, Tarantino!
Just amazed when the music syncs up with the visuals. Glad you liked it!
0:27 why is the security guard there before the first humans
Cartoon Logic
@heyjimr Cartoon logic of cartoon logic
@@heyjimr Even the original stories had cartoon logic too
Ha! I love this classic Siper 8mm film from the 70s! I hope nobody missed my cameo as the wine-o in the alley. An Oscar-worthy performance. Actually, I think this is one of the best things we all did back then. The in-camera editing is tight. I would only change a single edit. The Peter Gunn theme goes perfectly with it. I think we had to play it from a cassette deck or maybe reel-to-reel back then. I don't think this film had a mag stripe for audio, did it? Anyway, thanks for sharing a great one from our early days. Who knew we'd all become media professionals as adults?
7:43 oh god Slappy just killed everything
Ah, it is just a cartoon, Skippy!

Great! Thanks so much for this! I love the movie!
I think it will be a fun Christmas movie for years to come.
And the animation looks pretty creepy.
Several animators worked on different scenes.
Why is the instrument a piano instead of a violin?
It's a temporary music track.
224 pages....224 PAGES FOR 11 SECONDS OF ANIMATION!? Jeez animators reeeealy have a thankless job. All the time and hard work these people did back then to created a single movie.....such talented and strong artisans, thinkers and artists alike they are
タツノコプロの作品は本当に、素晴らしいと思います。また、テーマ曲も素晴らしい。アニメと音楽がきれいに融合していて、いまでもこのアニメは忘れません。
Translation: I think Tatsunoko Productions' work is truly wonderful. Also, the theme song is great. The anime and music blend beautifully, and I'll never forget this anime.
Fantastic houses!
Chicken Run 3 2026?
Ahh yes I remember useing him for my animation assignments
He-Man!
im hearing this movie is good
Very Funny and still uses clay and stop frame animation!
@ I remember in animation classes we talked about Feather Mcgruff
It's McGraw. Be careful, he doesn't like that...
@ megrew thays right:)
The thing i liked about this ronald was he was nice but he was also realistically nice. He wasn't sugar coated like current Ronald
Oblio..? Is that you?

So lovely to meet the real Julia and this was a great interview. What’s so endearing about Julia’s virtual persona is her authenticity and enthusiasm for her interests, and that came across here too. I was delighted when I found her account on Instagram and she continues to inspire😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was so nice. I was unfamiliar with this animator.
Glad you enjoyed the interview.

She's kind😊we follow her
Ive desperately been looking for a good quality upload of Good Grief. Its almost impossible to find on the internet and the picture quality is always severely degraded. Ive been obsessed qith this cartoon since I was a child. Its genius. I really wish a well preseved copy would be released.
Good News, I have a 16mm copy of that film and working on making a video copy as soon as I find the reel.
@@heyjimr that's awesome! Its such an odd and provocative little piece of animation history. Do keep me updated!
His name was Thok Søndegaard, he did A LOT of puppet and stop-motion films in Denmark during the 1950s-1960s, he was most notably well known for working on the show that you're rewieving, called "Snip and Snap" wich ran on Swedish Television for a brief period in 1960!..
His work was really good and thank you for letting us more about him.
Woohoo! Can’t wait! 🎉
You're never boring....
Wish the series had more of this. Don't touch that Dial and and Snow White were my favorite episodes.
I wonder if people still think it is funny?
I do, but then again I was alive for this transitional period in the history of animation. How many of today's kids would get the jokes?
you’d *LOVE* teen titans go
The way they changed his eyes after he says, "Girls." is weird.
