Your video saved me today. I was in the mountains on a single track dirt road when it failed & stuck in reverse only. I got lucky and had cell service. Was able to get home. Easy temp fix. Thanks for your saving video.

Viet man, great video. I have been struggling with an LX279 I bought at an estate sale. Used air hose in the line from tank to filter, I thought that would expel obstruction. I blew air in the fuel line also back toward the tank. Surely blockage is gone, but no! Replaced fuel filter. Still, gas only trickles out fuel line toward filter. Going to investigate the fuel vent at the tank. You sound like my friend from many years ago in Ringgold, GA who ran a restaurant, Van. He came to US from Vietnam and could not speak a word of English. Somehow convinced manager of the North Druid Hills Golf & Country Club in Atlanta to let him work there, they let him have a cot in a closet of some sort in a maintenance building. Literally. I think he worked there 10 years or so he told me. I did not know him then. By sheer determination and will and I'm sure alot of tears, he learned to speak English. He saved money. He learned everything he could. He learned from the members, he learned from the staff. He also sent money back home to Vietnam. I don't remember which area he came from. I still think of Vietnam as North and South because I was a child in the 1960s. The war was on the TV every day. Protesters spit on the returning soldiers in the streets. Two governments at war for power. I do not know which one was 'right' and just. I do know many hundreds of thousands lost their lives and many atrocities and war crimes committed by the powerful against those who found themselves with no protection. The story of humanity is not all pretty. If only those who get up every morning by the grace of God Almighty and choose what they want to do, go outside, get something to eat, buy something, find some employment or start your own enterprise of whatever you want could appreciate that simple concept. Freedom of choice. Freedom. When you lose your freedom, you suddenly understand. But then it's too late. Once lost, freedom does not return easily. For any of us, no matter who, what, where. Many people just don't get this simple concept. Through TH-cam, I want to say thank you. Very glad you took the time to share this project. I am sure you have a story to tell from your history and your family. Sharing my thoughts and memories here because your voice sparked recollection this morning. : ) Wish I could find my old friend Van. I met him when he opened up a Chinese Restaurant in Ringgold years ago. Helped him with a few things. Always enjoyed hearing stories from him. I was a young lawyer then. Sometimes I could go there for lunch when not traveling or in some court. Usually a late lunch or when most customers gone. He would come out of the kitchen if not busy and sit with me. Some stories would bring tears to my eyes. A restaurant is hard work. He got there early and stayed late, to 10 or 11 o'clock at night. He and his wife. They did it all. They had a small buffet. One day some years later, I went to the restaurant and there was a handwritten note on the door, "CLOSED permanently" or something to that effect. I tried to find Van but he had disappeared into the vastness of who-knows-where. Never forgot him though. So, No Van Nguyen, if you're out there, send up a message if you get a chance. So Mr. Viet, time for a new video? So I can write for an hour about that one too! Maybe I'll write on the battles I've fought right there in Chatham County, I love it down there. Fort Pulaski is one of my favorite places. Been in Magistrate Court with Judge Moss, Judge Barker, and Judge Macke, very good legal minds. In State Court where I have traffic cases that started out in Recorder's Court. One speeding case just concluded this past Friday 8-23-24. Yes! It's a small world, right? Alot of good people in Chatham and surrounding counties. Let's not overlook Superior Court and Juvenile too. I've helped alot of Gulfstream employees and their family and friends. It is a small world, my friend indeed. In some ways for me it keeps getting bigger. It's big for sure but this keyboard closes the distance.

My father-in-law's LA115 was surging and hard to start. I looked at the gas filter and saw earwigs (bugs), then looked in the gas tank and there were dozens of earwigs blocking the suction tube. I looked in the gas can and he had lost the cap, so the earwigs were getting into the gas can, dying, and he was pouring them into his gas tank. It was an old style gas can from the 1980's with the removable cap. I drained the gas tank, cleaned out all the earwigs, blew out the gas line, more earwigs were in the line, cleaned them out, and blew out the carb. Put in new gas and it runs like new. I also bought him a new gas can, which he can't figure out how to use! So I have to come over every week and fill up his mower.

This video saved me so much time and money. We thought we might need a new truck that we didn't have the money for and this caused it to work again.

Thank you so much for posting this fix and giving clear examples of what to do! I had mine starting and stalling too. I blew out the fuel pickup first. That didn't work. Then the line from the fuel pickup to the fuel filter and that got my mower running again!

That has to be a road I'm comufornia, look at those pot holes, we pride ourselves on our world class pot holes, it keeps our economy moving, people buying new tires and getting shocks ans suspension fixed, but hey, we only pay 50 cents a gallon to get them fixed, how about $20 a gallon governor nuisance, would that be enough to fix our roads ????
