Sorry to hear that, but with proper gear and following the build, you shouldn't struggle on tier 15 maps at all, especially not when it comes to clearing. I've started to running into issues with +4 level bosses in level 82 maps, but that's the first time I've struggled on the build. Seeing if I can get more damage, but I'd recheck everything and make sure you're following the guide completely.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. You don't need to manually cast lightning bolt- when you crit the amulet will automatically trigger the skill.

I would say probably not worth it. Our life is already pretty limited, so losing more to use another unique with no life (in addition to our amulet) is a lot. Resistances are probably still doable, but I personally would stick with rare gloves. I could see it being good though as it allows you to spec into explosions, so if you can fit it in, I'd say give it a try.

If you mean should you start a new character, I would say no, just try to switch over to my passive tree. You should be close to a lot of the nodes that I have already taken if you went to get grenade stuff, so it shouldn't be too big of a lift.

@ fair enough. You can try switching to the non crit version, and that really doesn’t take much specific gear at all- that video is linked in the description.

Yeah the build definitely has some problems, but I think those problems are endemic to PoE 2 as a whole, not really to the build. Everyone (except for ES builds) are really lacking defensive options right now, which is why I think sorcery ward is almost a necessary evil, as it adds a pretty strong layer of defense. I'm hopeful that with stacking enough evasion, I'll be able to get roughly 80% evasion even after cutting the rating in half, but we will see. Also hopeful that GGG adds some other viable defensive layers into the build, because yeah, it can just get 1 shot sometimes, which sucks.

@@mastern56 1 shot with 1 portal in maps is gg for me. Its not to hard, but then you have 8 maps in raw with deaths - nuh, next time witchboy, next time.

@@nickkuhnert2361 No, I think evasion is better than armor. Armor is only decent in maps when you have a lot of it, which Sorcery Ward inherently means isn't really possible. We also can't really path over to the side of the tree that has good % armor nodes, while we want to path to the side with evasion. So I'd recommend going full evasion gear and following the guide on mobalytics which has some gear examples of what would be best in slot.

For the bow, try to get a bow that looks similar to the crossbow shown in the video. Pretty much just want as high physical damage as possible, with crit chance as that will give you a high chance to shock. For the quiver, prefixes should be physical damage to attacks and damage with bow skills (ideal third prefix would be lightning damage), and suffixes should be level to all projectile skills, critical hit chance and critical damage bonus. I'm not sure why you're not able to shock though. Sometimes it does take multiple shots, as you need to beat the status threshold, but you should be able to shock eventually on tougher enemies.

Check pierce chance on your bow - it might be piercing your target

For leveling, having flat lightning is totally fine. It's just that flat lightning on crossbows doesn't actually do that much as compared to the % physical increases you can get. Since galvanic and shockburst both convert the attack damage to lightning damage, it's much better to just stack as much physical damage as possible, and have that convert to lightning.

​@@mastern56 Got it, we do have a bunch of lightning +% in the passive tree too, so I guess it's a bit of an empirical question what actually works best at each point with gear/passive tree state.

@@tomasszabo9426 Yeah this is where having PoB to be able to see the actual dps comparisons would come in handy. I will say it's very unlikely that you would beat a good pdps crossbow though- it's important to convert as much of the physical damage of the crossbow over into the element now, since conversion doesn't double dip like it does in poe1. I think if you could roll % increased lightning damage on crossbows as a local mod, it might make sense to go for that mod, but the only % increase you can get is physical, so it is what it is.

My gut feeling would be a 100 higher pdps crossbow would be better. As I say in the video, there's not that many supports that actually meaningfully increase our damage, so scaling your damage conversion would be a lot better. Hard to know without PoB though and what specific support gems you would socket.

Good shouts on both. I will say, I've since switched over to crit using Choir of the Storm, as I discussed in the video, which means I no longer use exposure at all.

Reading the gem, I think that it should- if the lightning bolt from herald of thunder shocks the target it hits, it should be able to trigger coursing current. Let me know if it doesn't though- hard to test.

The quality of Earthshatter just lets you have more spikes out at once. Maximum without quality is 6, with quality it goes up to 9. It's only really helpful on bosses with intro animations or essence mobs - basically lets you do a bit more setup damage. I just tested it in game, and it definitely works, so not sure why people wouldn't add quality to it.

Fair enough. As I said in the video, it's not very far for the build (want that life on block anyways), so I don't mind taking it. But if lifetap works for you, definitely take it and save those points! I just don't want to deal with mana, ideally ever, lol.

Yeah, not loving that warrior (to me) feels like giant's blood is the only way. One handers just don't do enough damage, and I feel insanely squishy without a shield, so you kind of just have to take it. Is fun to run around with a 2H in one hand though, and strength is a good stat, so it's not all bad.

@@mastern56 you’re not the only one. After the respec to giants blood and blood magic and using cannibalism my survivability increased significantly! I feel like there’s no other way for me haha

For sure, block was the game changer for me. Sucks that it really makes giant's blood a necessity so you can use the shield, but is what it is.
