Leif The Swedish Engine Stories Overgrown: Toby The Tram Engine was feeling very excited since the engines were busily happy. He was sent to take some freight cars to an abandoned station. As Toby was making his return journey he saw an unusual engine. His name was Leif and he just ended up on a long journey but Toby helped him out and later he saw Thomas and Percy. Sir Topham Hatt inspected him and sent him to the works to be polished up and he was. Thomas & Leif: Leif The Swedish Engine was happy for his first day. Thomas The Tank Engine was happy to work with him. So Thomas and Leif were busily at work pulling timber, freight, flour, rock and fuel. Later, Leif delivered his train to the docks. Later, Thomas broke down after straining up a hill. Leif decided to take over his duties while he was being repaired. And in no time, he came back and started to be friends with Leif. Down & Front: Leif was sent to help Percy and Duck at the docks. When Leif arrived, he was dismayed. But a red brake van named Manny was there and he was eager to help. As Leif shunted him, things went the other way around. However, Leif had to pull Manny but there was trouble as some faulty points sent Manny one way into a set of buffers into the quay. Leif was shocked but Thomas arrived and surveyed the damage. Sir Topham Hatt spoke with morality to him about shunting down and front. First Class: Leif was sent to pull the mail after his incident at the docks. When he arrived Percy was there waiting impatiently for the mail. Gordon pulled up to them and said severely to be first class. So, Leif heard what Gordon said and puffed away. Late at night he was taking the mail along the coastal route and was feeling happier than ever. Leif saw Harold The Helicopter and greeted him. Leif delivered the mail on time and everyone clapped and cheered and called him first class. Trivia: Leif is based on a Swedish Class S1 2-6-4. A reference to Thomas’s Train is made in Thomas & Leif. Manny The Brake Van is based on many North American cabooses.

It would be wise to grow tobacco and cannabis hemp for wood gasifiers to run vehicles with that and carbonaceous wastes when Fuel shortages are about AS WELL as Charcoal Briquettes to add for better mileage....... AND do it using Small to Medium Scale Capitalism and Permaculture Techniques!

That's a good work, really! Just one question - why does the engine have so high idle RPMs? Is it necessary for it not to shut off (is it less stable than when running on diesel, or gasoline - in general)? Greetings from the Czech republic :).

I agree however when the collapse of industrial civilization happens wood will be a great source for fuel for traveling out of necessity for goods and survival. You don't have to believe me you'll know in the next 10 years how peak oil has been passed and that we're on a decline and there is no way mother earth or an invention can sustain the population numbers at present.

Some wood gas engines are started on gasoline but switches over to wood gas or uses it as a "mpg-booster".

That's not the reason to call it "not viable" at all. That's the technology that will have its market share in the areas where the resource base is big enough. It simply doesn't need to completely substitute all oil, coal and natural gas together.

How is the power, is it the same or not so strong?
