To anyone with the same gripe, I implore you all to watch World Triggers. Not only does the rest of the MC's team grows in every single match climbing to the top, not only does the rival character's team ALSO grow up throughout the series, but also HALF of the other side characters develop off screen and ON SCREEN. What happens to the other half of the side characters? they have spotlights here and there but that doesnt mean everyone grow (in a visible sense) because just like in irl, some people just dont grow or have already grown and are developed enough to only teach you more stuff in life. This is because the author treats his shounen action like a sports series (albeit even more insane). Not just main characters and his team, not just rival "school"s team, but literally eveyone you're introduced to, tell me any other series that do that. BUT in the current arc, the author literally develop 50+ characters at once, side and all, the most sidest of the characters in this series goes deeper than even some shounen's MAIN FKING CHARACTER. Speaks more to the author's genius and most importantly, MATURITY with writing his character. Every characters you've met in the series isnt a one off and will show up in their own spotlight in the most randomest scene you can imagine making the whole town the MC live in feels like an actual ecosystem that have their own lives outside of the MC's scope of vision. To anyone who ACTUALLY value character depth, World Trigger wont leave you disappointed. Not to mention that the simplest strategy in World Trigger is equivalent to the most hyped big brain moment in other shounen, just imagine everyone you meet is Shikamaru (without anyone needing to hype them as intelligent because literally everyone in this series have a brain, a rare trait in shounen anime).

If ichigo doesnt use quincy powers or shoots some balas in the next cour im gonna crash out

Ichigo has the Yusuke template. Getting stronger was something he wanted to do not for himself but for other people. Yusuke's the same but leans a lot harder into the punk/delinquent archetype, pushing away those he cares about on the surface. Similarly, when he's finally making the choice to take that path himself rather than have it be thrust upon him, he reaches even greater heights. They're two of my favorite shounen protagonists and I realized their similarities recently.

Thats what I love about Ichigo. He literally is just a normal ahh dude that was thrown into an entirely different world and standards and said “git gud”. Bro is a real one 😤💪

This is why Ichigo is one of my favorite main characters. Having just rewatched Yu Yu Hakusho and hearing people constantly talk about how Bleach ripped it off, I find it interesting how similar Ichigo and Yusuke are, but also how much they diverge in personality. When I think of other characters that are similar, I think of Tsuna, Jonathan Joestar, Allen Walker, maybe even Jin Kazama due to their goals not being particularly violence oriented, but then being thrusted into violence and reaping tragic results (less Tsuna though, and Jin…well, lol.)

one interesting bit of foreshadowing from the scene with the boxes and finding the red ribbon: since Zangetsu is really Ywach, it stands to reason that all those white ribbons were Ichigo's Quincy powers, but he needed the Shinigami powers to survive death.

The bit on White Zangetsu getting after Ichigo for "fighting with a sheathed sword" at least to me was always White telling Ichigo, the people your about to fight? Not as honor bound and nice as the soul reapers, there is no reason or logic to a hollow only the instinct to fight, and up until that point Ichigo actively either used non lethal force or would reason his away out of a fight. It wasn't until he got his hollow mask that he realized, oh crap maybe some people are better off having the business end of my blade through their chest after all

one thing i feel bad for ichigo he legit got plan out TWICES one for aizen for literally his birth two for yuha back or dunno how to pronounce his name he literally waited ichigo to pick up the sword then use his reshi i think to control portion of his arm then got the aizen treatment YET AGAIN to literally killed the soul king sorry for my pronounce i suck at typing

Man i just apreciate that Gon is a SHONEN PROTAGONIST who doesnt have an almost IMPOSSIBLY TRAGIC BACKSTORY i mean hes just an ultra buff kid and i love that. Killua took that role from him and im so glad he did because the mc being the orphan offspring of some godlike figure that gets powers for free and takes the role of jesus for their respective worlds its been done to the death and still does even after all these years. Lets just hope that if he ever returns to the manga he doesnt change to be the chosen one by the god of the Dark Continent, Don Freecs.

In other anime a lot of the main themes and plot points are very hard to not notice because they're being spoon fed to you most the time, and it kinda takes away the mystery and finding these things out on your own

I think a lot of the issues Gon has stems from feeling like he is weak. In the back story he felt bad because his weakness is what got the mother of the cub killed. This fuels him through the story. And if you look at a lot of Gons actions throughout the arcs majority of his actions and conflicts stems from him feeling like he is not strong enough.

Ichigo is honestly just a big brother, and a really good friend. Who just happens to have ridiculous powers and have the worst luck in the universe.

My God in Heaven, when he was absolutely defeated by Thanathos, who had destroyed both his Pegasus cloth and the undefeated Sagitarius cloth, the dude was like "OK Athena I did my very best but things escalated waaaaaaay wilder than I could handle", and the Godess simply answered him that he was alive and that was enough. Like c'mon girl let the poor guy catch a breath, or at least tell him your blood would awaken the divine cloth
