So, from what documentary is the sound from? Sounds like History Channel. lol. The sound effects without the pictures are a bit annoying to be honest.
Reminds me of that 007 game for master system
Thank you, I grew up in south Louisiana and experienced crew boats and other equipment used in the servicing of oil rigs. I have heard of these ships that just anchor and unload. I think I remember a story that there is a pipeline system that some ships can hook up to off the coast of Louisiana and unload that way. Do you know if this is true and if so do you know where I could see it? Again thanks for the video will be following your channel.

Awesome. One filming tip: those movements where you rotate the camera towards the floor are seasicknes inducing. if you cut them out or stop the cam shortly, your videography would improve a lot.
: )
Amazing aircraft have nothing close to the EPIRB type device.
Yeah that is odd
Done this 1998 😅
Didn't know there were ships that couldn't come in to port
The orange ship is 60,000 tons to put it in perspective some of the really large ones are 400,000 tons!
Got to watch the Nave Quasar come into the Houston ship channel a couple of years ago, she's a 300,000!
that was awesome ! Thanks for the unique perspective. Hope for more of this sometime
How interesting!

Wonderful video~
Thank you for creating this video. Interesting that there are two records, one that is on top of bridge with an acoustic beckon and another that will float free when ship sinks.
@@williamlloyd3769 glad you liked it
Nice video. One correction though, Cummins QSK38s produce 1400 hp each for a total of 2800 hp. We have these same engines on the Galveston Pilot boats
BS, I’ve been windsurfing, kitesurfing, and wing foil surfing ship’s wake for over 30 years, not one incident, ever. Hundreds, if not thousands of waves. Just because you drive a ship, doesn’t mean you know how to handle the ocean as a surfer.
I miss when the internet was this simple. I clicked on a video that suggested it was a helicopter landing on a ship. Shockingly, that's exactly what it was and I loved every second of it. This was great!
Haha awesome!
For folks that didn’t grow up along the Texas Gulf Coast. The Galveston Offshore Lightering area is where they transfer crude oil from giant tankers that come from foreign sources of heavy crude oil onto small tankers to deliver to the refineries in Baytown, Texas City, and along the Houston Ship Channel. These tankers are too big to go into the shallower Texas ports. This is a very common practice and there are lightering areas at several points along the Gulf coast. In Louisiana there is a large offshore structure that supertankers can pull up to and off load oil via under seas pipelines to refineries in Louisiana. They also have a couple lightering areas too.
@Bill_N_ATX yep I work in the port of corpus and in Ingleside is a small spot for vlcc's to dock and off load
And then...
And then and then and then and then lol
That’s a lot quicker than a workboat! Nice video.
Actually way less expensive too when just transporting two people.
At least it wasn't windy
I have a Abel semen credential. How do I get a job?
Whats your job on the cargo ship?
i spent three years with bacon towing on the Razorback 80 - 83, tough job tankering car ships and seen things i cant forget. Condolences to the family
This is so interesting.

I first went on the Texas in 1958. At that time the main deck was concrete with no wood showing on it. That looks like concrete from this view and if it is I sincerely hope it is being replaced and not just covered with the wooded decking.
Thanks!
I watched the entire video. Fascinating. Staying in Savannah right now at a hotel with a partial view of the river. It’s nighttime. At the end of une video I heard the sound of a horn. It was a giant container ship going by! I’m going to try and figure out what times the next ships will come by and go out to the waterfront to watch. Thank you for this very informative, well-shot video.
install the marine traffic app on your phone its free and you can see all the ships in real time.
