I love how you say Romulus!! 🥰 I pretty much agree with everything you said. It's by far the best sequel since Alien 3, which I think is undeservedly looked down upon as a bad film, when it's maybe not the best Alien film, but compared to some of the other sequels in the series it at least stays true to the original concept. I know fans of the franchise really rate Aliens as it is far more action-packed, as with 4 to some extent. But I personally think that is its major weakness, and that's due to there being far too many xenomorphs, and as you rightly point out, that takes away a lot of the suspense, tension, and horror of these highly intelligent killing machines. But that's really the only thing I disliked about Romulus. I'm so glad they decided not to retcon what we discovered in Prometheus/Covenant entirely, and I'm actually excited to see where they take this new storyline and if they can somehow reintroduce David so we can maybe finally get to understand the missing link between the Xenos in those movies and what they become in later movies.

Nice review!! And for those who didn't like the 'excess' of references there is a fan edit named "Alien Romulus [Edição-CSJ]" that removes some references, some fake CGI face scenes and has less endings.

About that scene where the alien saved Rain in the elevator: The reasons why it saves her are because 1) there was a facehugger right there ready to mount her and 2) its the aliens' job to reproduce. The scene was goofy for me too at first, but it makes more sense with those reasons in mind. The alien could have let her fall or it could have just killed her itself once it caught her, but instead it holds her there in place ready for the facehugger to impregnate her.
