KYLE, you need to start doing the morning after game thoughts. There are so many leaf channels that are either 1) click bait nonsense or 2) the biggest nerds known to man. I only watch the Leafs nation with Alberga and Rosehill. I like that one but Rosehill says " kinda" every other sentence. I also like J.D on sportsnet BUT the buck stops there. There is are viewers and subscribers to be had for someone like yourself. geeet uuur done bud ;)

I havent had this much faith in the Leafs goalies in many years. Woll and Stoll will be a better duo than what we had last year, and having beasts like Hildeby and Murray behind them to maybe pick up the pieces if the others get injured is just such a fantastic luxury to have. I liked Martin Jones as well, he saved the Leafs their season last year and maybe Murray can do that this year.

I appreciate the shoutout for Brodie, he's been getting so much flack the past year but he was great before that. I hope this Tanev contract wont age like milk, Tre loves his older guys. Lets hope they make the most of the coming few years before his body gives in. Thanks for the series, Kyle!

We are trying to win a cup. If it’s at all obvious that he’s the best player we currently have to fill a certain bottom 6 roll, I couldn’t care less about his offensive development. As long as he’s a Leaf he won’t touch the powerplay for years anyway. Put the best team on the ice. Making the NHL at his age will give him plenty of time to eventually grow into bigger roles. That’s the benefit of having prospects who are eternal students, like Minten. But often times they bloom a bit later.

If he’s truly healthy, no reason he can’t compete for a NHL gig after 10-20 games in the A

Just watched the first two periods of the prospect game. 1) the commentators are brutal along with the audio 2) that was an absolute pathetic two periods of effort for both teams considering what is at stake. The prospect game 5/10 years ago would have bodies laying on the ice and at least some emotion.

Are these games being streamed somewhere?

Kyle is right. When Hunter was in charge for 3 drafts, he fixated on big D & drafted 11 of them in rounds 2 through 7. Only 1 ever played any NHL games (3) & that was for the Avs not the Leafs. All were 6' 2" or taller & sadly unable to play at an NHL level. Oddly Nic Mattinen (Hunter 6th round pick in 2016), after taking a circuitous route through OUAA university hockey, then Austria, followed by Germany, has re-signed with Toronto. At 26 yrs old, he's now found a level that might take him to the NHL. Unusually good skater for a big guy. It is true that more than a few D take until their mid twenties to figure it out (why I haven't given up on Liljegren). Hopefully Nic can transition an MVP D-league season into bigger & better things in Toronto along with Mr Chadwick (hopefully sooner than Nic). You need at least 9 NHL capable D to get through an 82 game NHL regular season + the post-season.
