An Indian in the United States, this channel is about what helped me in my journey. General chit chat about my experiences and what works and what doesnt. Currently my videos are about ditching the hair dye and going grey, but I will occasionally include other topics in my channel like watercolor painting and human resources, both of which I am passionate about.

Honestly I feel that we Indians don't have grey hair. We have whute hair that pops up one day all of a sudden. You hair looks amazing btw!
Thank you , you are so brave. I am 65 yrs old and had 2 months of growth and I went to the salon to have it blended because my died hair was so dark and my gray is so white. Well guess what .... I'm now having to start all over again 😢 Lord give me strength. Thank you for your video. You truly beautiful inside and out. God bless you 🙏 Maranatha 🙏
@Birdie-qr8nl Try again and it wl be easier this time over. It's not easy to start but it's easy to get over with if u get a haircut every few months.
@@sonallele9109 thank you so much for the encouragement. I appreciate you more than you know. God bless you 🙏
Hi maam I'm also trying to go gray almost 6months passed i have not used any hair colour, but I want to ask u that what all precuation u r taking to take care of natural grey like shampoos, conditioners, or any hair mask so that grey hairs doesn't fade to yellow
@@heerlakhyani5289 I've never used anything as my hair didn't turn yellow...
So beautiful! You look great in short hair.
This came up when searching for inspiration for embracing gray hair among Indian women. Thank you for the photos and honesty! You look lovely. I'm excited to start my journey and this gave me motivation.
Agree. You look best with ur gray crown❤😊
Beautiful and inspiring
You're hair looks great ❤
Thank you❤️
You look beautiful!…❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
U look nice no matter what .❤
Now let your hair grow very long again😊
“ The journey is tough but the end is satisfactory”
Thank you for the suggestions 😊. Should we oil our hair or not. If we oil our hair we should use shampoo right. My grays are turning yellow, and I'm getting dandruff on my scalp, what should I do for that. Can please suggest 🙏
Purple shampoos are said to work on yellowing hair, I haven't tried them. I used besan and lemon as a shampoo replacement and hair came out squeaky clean.
Thank you very much 🙏
Is it true that white hair that's growing is healthier than the dyed hai?
Yes its softer, and not touched by chemicals.
Everytime I get fed up and don't like my grey and am so close to dying it a video pops up and convinces me not to...so this time it is yours so thank-you and although this is 2years ago you looked great so you've spurred me on
Thank you Tracy,
Extra motivational speech ❤
You look great with your grey hair.... Love it! Cheers!
You look great. Your journey from self doubt to confidence is truly inspiring.
Tk u..
Loved your honest video of your transition… I think you really rock in this new hair cut and style ! I’m in my transition too…and your video has motivated me to carry on… Thanks
You are too hard on yourself. You are lovely! I'm on my gray journey, also.. only 2 months in. It really is difficult sometimes. Blessings to you...❤️
Yes, we all have moments when we are so self critical. Still working on it❤️
Thank you for uour support..im very early in my journey..in a few days it will be one month..I also have very dark brown hair and very long ..I hair is healthy..I don't blow dry it or put any products other than shampoo and conditioner..I will probably get trims a little more often but would never go short..I know I'm going to need a lot of patience
Keep going, and accept your changing looks, only your opinion matters❤
@sonallele9109 thank you so much..I have been coloring for 51 years to hide greys..I have had enough..you are right..only my opinion matters. 😘
❤
Thank you! You are very inspiring. I am trying to to tackle both…losing weight and growing out my hair to gray. I have done Leslie Sansone walk videos in the past and it’s true, the weight does come off! So it’s time for me to get all this under control. Thank you!
I admire u ... I want to be like u ... But the transition period is so difficult to go through ...
Yes but it does get over, and the shorter you maintain your cut, the sooner you will be over with it.
Your coloring is very much like my sister-in-law who is half Lebanese and her gray looks beautiful on her.
Geesh, what rude comments your friends said to you. I decided that I would head off the negative comments from close friends by saying, "I've decided to ditch the dye. I'm really excited about it. And I thank you ahead of time for being sooo supportive!"
I am 44, thinking of going gray from the age of 40 but colour my hair every time mid way......as you said it's difficult to accept yourself while transitioning 😞 and i regret every time after coloring....... But i have mad the decision now after seeing your beautiful transition.... thankyou
Transition does get easier if u keep a short and smart haircut. And you get used to your new looks...keep going no matter what people say..
You looks so beautiful! I want to go grey, but a little scared too. Your video inspired me a lot. Thank you sister!
I so appreciate you for posting both the "good" and "bad" pictures. Finally, someone who is realistic about this journey! What I see shining through all of them is your beautiful self! Thank you for this!
Love this!!!
Hi... I am Sheetal from India. Just came across your videos. You have really inspired me not to give up during the transition period..I have stayed dye free for 5 months. I am also going to try "no shampoo" concept and your homemade conditioner. Hopefully, it will work for me too! Love your hair.
Keep going, when you feel like it, you can ways switch back to shampoo and conditioner. India is hot and you may want to wash it this way too.
@@sonallele9109 thank you.:) I will at least give it a try. Specially winters!!
I haven’t coloured yet but I do henna..I m 45.. now i don’t like the orange shade it becomes after a week..been thinking of stopping n go grey.. such videos really are encouraging. Transition is quite tough as it takes time to completely get rid of the henna Color. I hope I m able to overcome the anxiety about appearance n looks. Thanx 😊
Yes I just cldnt handle the henna, u shld gv up only when u r ready to accept the changed and new appearance. Or else u might want to start henna again. Its not easy, but it looks great once the transition is complete.
I have grey for a long time somehow I was very very clear I will not Color or dye it as I have seen my mom had skin allergy & baldness due to dye when she used to do. So I was very clear will only use henna. Now I want to stop that too. Like you said it’s difficult & you are tempted to do henna before any event, party function just to look nice. So I am in that phase to gather courage and not to do & let it be...Been just 1.5 months, long way to go😄. I was seeing videos when I happened to notice yours. You look amazing with short grey hair🙂.
Best is to keep is short so the transition is quick. Then let it grow.
Lovely
I am 54 and growing out for about 6 months. My salt and pepper hair is wavy and so much new growth especially in the front. My blond dyed hair is very different, sparser and curly. It’s so strange, but the hair growth on my natural hair is very encouraging. Your hair color looks really pretty.
Yes, you will see many positive results, keep going, and learn to love your new look..
My hair are very dry and fuzzy what kitchen medicine should use? I am 50 yr old lady and growing my hair gray
Awesome journeys sis!
Hi..Sonal.. loved the video and your comments on it..its a real boost for me..as I have ditched my dye..and embracing my grays..coming from a conservative society..it really is tough..but holding on..🙂
Hi Vidhya, keep going, its not easy, but the most difficult part is taking the decision which you have already done. It wl get better.
Love the way you shared your experiences and journey ❤ I am going gray as well at the age of 32 and cold turkey
Your hair looks beautiful! So you are washing your hair only with water and sometimes you use baking soda and lemon juice? How to get over the white lair that appears in my hair when I don't use a shampoo?
Hi Nina, thank u, the white layer cld be due to hard water, if it bothers you, try using shampoo and not be off shampoo completely.
@@sonallele9109 Thank you.You are truly an inspiration.
sonal, I have seen your videos on grey hair and now I came across this video of yours. you are a good creator. your videos are quite natural and informative. Please keep it up. Best of luck for your channel . no doubt it will pick a good growth. you are the best.
Your hair is beautiful! Thank you for the encouragement. My hair is one inch grown out and it’s scary. It’s long and today I have decided to cut it in a bob.
It wl have a mind of its own initially 🙂but wl later on have a good ending👍
You are telling my story…my hair grows so fast and stopped dying 4 months ago…after almost 30 years of coloring. I am blonde (not natural) so the demarcation line is not super noticeable…yet. Right now my hair is long but I’m planning to cut it at my shoulders and rest in whatever comes
Thanks for all your videos. I am returning to India next week and am prepared to face all the comments with my complete grey hair
Yup, and remember to let people voice their opinions, but not let it bother you, just say thank u and close it..
Very encouraging. I have just started going grey. Feel very motivated seeing your video
Hi Sonal, i am also going through the same transition. your video is so inspiring and supportive that it make me feel easy in such a tough transition. it is 65th day of this journey. you said it right that the end result and feeling is awesome. well I have started already feeling good and lighter. once again your videos are really really good. keep making such useful and inspiring videos with such a honest and genuine efforts. i am 42. but i must say that you really look very beautiful with greys.
You looks good, even when you’re saying that you don’t see it, people makes comments based on their perception of what is beautiful. When I saw your pic, I saw you as you: naturally beautiful….
Thank you
U look great in red !!!
Thank you🙂
Loving the grey ❤️ thanks for sharing X
Thank u Joanne fr stopping by👍
I liked your video on how to dress up in a saree when one has grey hair . Your video is very informative. Kindly guide as to what minimal make -up or lipstick/kajal to apply as I am an Indian too wearing no make -up . But grey hair gives the face a washed out appearance no matter how beautiful the saree . What do you apply on your face while dressed up in a saree?
You r amazing
Thank u!
You r the calmest voice on going gray journey
