you should watch the opera. there is a full version here on youtube at the paris opera that was pretty good. costuming was a bit lack luster for the Queen of the Night, but Sarastro's was quite interesting. Papgeno is by far my favorite character and you'll find yourself laughing at his antics quite a bit. and you are right, it is impressive. the fact that modern pop stars have virtually zero singing talent and are held up on a pedestal when divas like Diana Damrau and Maria Callas are largely unknown, is an absolute shame.

Phantom Of The Opera is music theatre not opera, Time To Say Goodbye is a pop song not really opera. Opera is done without amplification or a microphone. The most impressive part about this is the fact that's she's moving around and acting whilst singing it. To get the sort of breath support for this aria, most sopranos just post up and hold on for the ride basically. The sheer fact that she can walk around, sling those high notes in rapid succession, and act it out puts her in the top echelon in my opinion.

I hope you watch the entire thing from the 1st to the last episode. You will die laughing. Blackadder and the league of gentlemen are fantastic too. And grouch Marx.

Beyond the couple non-game-focused titles above, some others that you may appreciate that are technically about games (even if tangentially) include "Neath!" (unique characters in the setting but not directly present in the game, singing about life), "The Production Line" (a collab with Dan Bull focusing on the toll of being an employee in Lethal Company, with only visual hints to the monsters; Dan's version has a slightly different beginning and more different end scene. it's 3 Irish Catholic priests and their housekeeper, who were so dim and unsuitable, the church sent them to a tiny isolated island off the irish coast. The younger priest , Dougal, is mentally retarded, and the old grumpy guy is a alcoholic, and violent. The caper's they get involved with his hillarious. Try and watch some episodes.

Almost every coloratura soprano is judged by her ability to perform this aria and perform it well. It's for a more dramatic coloratura than a soubrette or lyric coloratura but it's kind of the Mt. Everest of the Soprano repertoire. Damrau is amazing but for a more icy, almost non-human interpretation, check out Cristina Deutekom. If a good laugh is what you're after, Florence Foster Jenkins, hilariously bad version never disappoints.
