Louisiana to California Oct 14 – 20, 2019 Trip
My iPad put together one of those "memories" videos and I thought it was actually pretty good. This is when we picked up 7006N and brought it back home. But the last couple of clips with my younger son are from a trip to Hawthorne (KHHR). Still, short and sweet.

Severe Clear mostly IFR flight from Montgomery Field to Riverside
มุมมอง 1923 ปีที่แล้ว
Took off on a Saturday for a flight to Riverside. The marine layer hung around until about 45 minutes before take off. Stuck with the IFR plan we filed that morning until it became obvious to me that we were going to be vectored all over the place because of traffic on the airways. Cancelled IFR and flew straight to Riverside.

Getting to know my GoPro 8 Black and didn't realize I had it on a timelapse setting. First, I was disappointed. But you know what? It actually looks kind a cool. So, I'll just leave it at that.
Full flight Modesto to Auburn--Bonanza E33 and Glass Panel

Hardly edited full flight from Modesto (KMOD) to Auburn (KAUN) in our 1969 Bonanza E33 (not an E33A). My co-owner in this plane, Alireza, was flying ahead in a Tiger he also co-owns.
Alireza Landing 7006N at Modesto

Alireza (co-owner) in the left seat for a sweet approach and landing at Modesto for a Pilots 'N Paws trip. Finally got most of the audio issues figured out. And I've finally bothered to learn how to use good editing software. Actual effort into video editing coming soon, lol.
Approach to Lake Havasu in Bonanza.

Flew to Lake Havasu to see my friend Greg, who I haven't seen since I got out of the Navy in July '95. Fairly simple VFR approach.

IFR Dep MYF to San Bernardino
มุมมอง 6294 ปีที่แล้ว
IFR departure of out San Diego's Montgomery Field (KMYF) in a 1969 E33 Bonanza. Ceilings were reported at 900 ft. Punched through the cloud layer, cancelled IFR when on top, and flew VFR to San Bernardino (KSBD).
Intense and Bumpy Approach to KMYF--G3x Glass Panel
มุมมอง 8134 ปีที่แล้ว
Small roller coaster ride to the ILS at Montgomery Field. What you can't see in the video are the sudden airspeed changes and the struggle to maintain the assigned altitudes. Really intense flight. But the header bug and the altitude bug are great tools to have in actual conditions.
Wake turbulence departure from San Bernardino and VFR flight to San Diego

Waited for a UPS MD80 to land and then departed. Watched the touchdown location and planned to rotate after the MD80's landing place. Uneventful flight back to San Diego.
Antonov Sighting!! MYF to SBD Bonanza G3x Touch
มุมมอง 1424 ปีที่แล้ว
Flew to San Bernardino to run an errand and get some fuel at Luxivair. Happened to see an Antonov parked not too far from Luxivair. My first time getting a look at one 'up close,' if close is considered a few hundred meters.

MYF to Bracket Beechcraft Bonanza Debonair
มุมมอง 8255 ปีที่แล้ว
Almost full flight in our club's "Debonanza" a C33 with an IO 520 engine (285 hp). Had to do a left turn slip on base to drop altitude. Took off with an IFR departure and then cancelled IFR when on top so I could take a more direct route to KPOC.

I wanna learn like this kid, reccomended school?
col watching this, my homie made first exit.
I’m a private pilot looking for another pilot to show me around San Diego airspace, I’m located in Az
beautiful landings...
awesome! no bs music...
Eating up hours to your planes TBO time......can we save time by not having the engine running during all this?....just saying...paid $28,000 for a rebuild today.
I'm looking at a 68 E. You like yours?
Nicely done. Have you tried to land there at night? I did a few night landings in a sim.... Successful but Scary, to say the least.
Haven’t seen any new videos in a while. I bet that was a cool trip!
It definitely was. The airplane is for sale too.
Good job dealing with door open. Number one; fly the airplane! Don’t even try to close the door. Turn back and land…inspect your latches and door handle once at the ramp.
Havasu💪🤙 one of my favorite places
Sure, ok about the expected RPM but you still saw a spike so your decision with two points of seemingly correlating data seems sensible to me. What was the spike, phantom?
Most likely. I know own a 1969 Bonanza E33 with a glass panel. What you learn is that the panel is only as good as the sensor and we often get false readings on CHT for the no. 4 cylinder--basically, over 4,000 feet it shows a drop and EGTs don't change. So the engine is fine, but the sensor isn't (we've had a few different mechs confirm). But with that 172, I don't know if that was normal and I was a relatively new pilot so I didn't want to take chances. At the time I think we had lost a plane in the club due to an engine failure so it was on my mind.
So cool live right by San Bernardino
Excellent piloting.
That was an amazing flight and good job.
Visors???
Nice video ! I fly out of KMYF myself !
OVER!
OVER!
Thanks for sharing I definitely will be flying out to San Diego in my 172.
What part of San Diego you live in. I’m in Point Loma
Such a nice panel and aircraft! I fly out of MYF with plus one currently have my private pilots license and my dream plane when I'm older is a bonanza if you have any extra space one day I'll definitely pitch some money for a chance to fly in a bonanza. Great video!
I don’t find this embarrassing but rather smart. It’s always better to be overly cautious especially in GA when so many pilots like to push boundaries. Even though nothing was wrong, I think if u had continued the flight u would have been distracted the entire time which could have lead to other problems. Thanks for sharing!
really nice approach and landing.
Thanks! But the great thing about Bonanzas is that they land themselves, lol
I got my plane upgraded. Gfc 500. We should meet up. I fly into KMYF all the time to eat at Casa Machado.
Rosen visors. As for the landing, you erred on the side of caution. Nothing wrong with that.
I’m about to do the same flight in the same airplane lol
lol, nice. Hope you enjoyed it!
Awesome and good info... Im picking up a PnP pup at Modesto on Thursday. Transporting to a rescue in Fillmore. I was looking to familiarize myself with KMOD. This is perfect......
Good stuff. Sometimes the hardest part of PnPs is letting go of the puppy you just transported, lol
Seriously. This was such a good looking, chill dog. If I didn’t have 2 already, I would’ve taken home. Handled the flight like he’s done it his whole life. Snuggled up with my kid and just chilled....
Good to see you back Chris, stay safe out there in crazy California.
Turned out very cool. This great
Plural for moose is, "HIT THE BREAKS KAREN!!!" 🤣
Stationair.......hmmmmmmm I just can’t bring myself to call mine by that name. I do wish we had our own name, though. That would be so cool. I’m flirting with calling the airplane a “Minus Five” because that’s precisely what our model number is: a 210-5 😂
I guess you never really lose it
Really nice panel! What is it and who did it for you? Looks like a garmin g3x?
Most pilots I know are very nice people. What's the purpose in making fun of a religion. I'm not impressed.
Ridiculous ideas are worthy of ridicule.
OMG! I already watched this video apparently, I think a couple years ago when it was first posted!! :) Excited to watch again though! Thank you for supporting me and congratulations on your achievements in aviation as well!!
LOL small world!! and Congrats again!!
Do you guys have the yaw damper with the GFC-500?
No yaw damper in our plane.
It’s been awhile since I watched your video! Hope you like your new bonanza!!!
Also, I wasn't flying - Gary was. Running LOP to bring the CHT down on that ridiculously hot day.
lol, close enough.
06N Chase plane!
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Keep it up buddy..
My daughter what she property your a typical you think you own things a pilot bog deal i started flying before you where born and million have learned.
Best. Comment. Ever.
Cool video! Why'd you pick the RNAV Y for your approach? Looks like the minimums are lower on the ILS or the RNAV Z into SBD
Nice video! I was thinking to buy an older 182 and upgraded its avionics with G3X and etc. However, I started to look at Bonanza/Debonair too, looks like a great plane. I saw you fly 172/182 before. How much does your G3X cost? How do you purchase your E33, did you use any consultant they mentioned in Beechtalk?
Hope you’re enjoying your new airplane. I use Bose in my 172, love em.
At 4:00, it’s Martha King!
LOL, you're right! I didn't notice that before.
What model Bonanza do you have ? Love the G3X with the autopilot integration
1969 E33. The auto pilot is nice to have, especially for long trips.
Was there an Airmet Tango for Socal the day you flew this?
I don't remember. But there should have been. During my IFR training we had a few days like this in actual.
Nice landing. Having an Instrument ticket sure makes getting out of San Diego easier on these foggy days.
It really does. So does having a reliable AHRS supported laser ring gyro (in this case, synthetic vision) and an autopilot you trust in case you end up getting disoriented.
Chris love the videos. Audio drives me nuts though. Bad cable?
I've noticed that too. But it seems to depend on what I watch them on. When I watch on my desktop the audio is clear and it's ok on an iPad. But it's terrible when I watch on the iPhone. So, I'm not sure if it's just a processing issue. The audio cable I have is a little beat up. I'll pick up a new one and see if that helps.
Or just switch to Android. Sound on my Galaxy sounds just like the airplane.
