What do I do about the feathers falling off?
You're welcome
It's not supposed to fall off... Please ensure you use gun glue it's very strong and can hold for a very long time... Also make sure you put enough amount of glue, if the glue isn't enough it won't hold.

Did you use the short or long ostrich feathers?
The short one
This looks too bulky, is there no other type of stabilizer that can be used
That's the nature of the design, it's different from a flat structure but if you don't like it bulky, you can make use of breast pad, it is flatter although the Drape on it will still add some volume to how it looks.
