Will it read a book in audible so u can listen to books to u
I like mine a lot. The update to make video to 3 minutes is welcome, but I keep it on default 60 sec. I’m not site impaired, but my vision isn’t like it used to be.
giving a child a poppy tpo were when they make heroin is disgusting
Awesome video, I’m sure many people will benefit from your experience. There’s a misconception that has been thrown out there regarding the cataract surgery. Excellent, thank you.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience in so much detail! I hope you're continuing to do well!
I think I will Not dance anymore, I think the light is Winning 😱But Seems Chris is Proving Me Wrong😂
Do you think that we will keep needing to replace them as they update or are the updates available for the sane pair much like updating phone software ? How long can you be on a call for be my eyes ? Cuz don’t they only record just for like 30 seconds or a min at the most ? I’m really wanting a pair now that they linked with. Be my eyes
@@carishields7834 it will be similar. I think to a mobile phone where they’ll bring new updates out fairly regular for the glasses. There will also be new additions and new pairs every couple of years I imagine but you will still be able to use the updates for your glasses.
My mother is totally blind from Retinitis Pigmentosa as well! She’s been totally blind for like 30 years, so she’s been getting along fine. But she’s also old and isn’t really up to date on tech. I bought her an iPhone and these glasses recently and have been tryna set it all up and optimize it for her. I’m given them to her next month. Hope we get that update soon! Youre a pretty blessed dude by the way. At your age still having some vision I mean.. RP took hers totally when I was about 2. She didn’t even keep it until the age of 30.
Very helpful video Dave. I watched it before I had my surgery to hear your story and experience. 2 weeks now since I had mine done, so I am back here again to watch as I am still having very blurry vision and remembered something you had said. Wonder if when I have my follow up if I end up being advised on Cystoid macular edema as well.
hey there, awesome video! Do you know if this collaboration is actually out for users to try, in the US, yet? This may be of interest to you, as well. You can use the Ray-Ban glasses with aIRA, as well.
@@shaunteckno it’s not available yet. It only got announced last week. It will be available via an update before the end of the year
I'm in the USA and today is Oct 31, 2024. I just used the Be My Eyes App with my glasses to check it out for you. I don't typically use that app so I didn't explore everything but it's connected to my version 2 meta glasses.
@@AM_FM_2you were able to show a be my eyes volunteer your camera on the glasses?
Hi, thanks for the info on this fantastic news, but just wanted to ask....I have the glasses, but don't have any AI/look and tell functionality on them. I have the latest updates, but it just says "I can't do that on your glasses". In your video you say you have this functionality. So, any ideas why I don't? Thanks.
@@stevespamer1837 it’s not available in the uk yet but will be soon. My glasses were purchased in America
@@DaveSteeleTheBlindPoet Ok, cheers mate, I'll be patient.
I am not sure what if you update the software and use it with VPN, maybe worth a try
I'm in USA. We went to Italy a couple weeks back and I downloaded the app Unlocator and my glasses worked fine. As a side note about Unlocator I also got to watch my local football game on TH-cam TV on my phone. Haha. App worked great.
They are good with low vision
I have RP too
David, This was a wonderful speech. I am so pleased that we met a year or so at the Lighthouse of Collier in Naples Fl. I, and all the LOC board members, were amazed by your charm, intelligence and humor. Hope our paths get to cross again. Sue Bookbinder
@@SUSANBOOKBINDER hi Sue lovely to hear from you. I would love the opportunity to come back and speak at another event for you sometime soon. Please get in touch via Dave@TheBlindPoet.net if there’s anything I can help you with

Great review. I want to get me a pair🤓
Can we zoom woth this glass
Thank you for this. I had cat surgery four weeks ago today. I have Macular all the cells in my left eye have worn out. I have a cataract there. They did my right eye which is Macular cataract scarring and blurring and they want to look at my Retina because I’m very light sensitive so I’m sometimes thinking that I have something like I’ll pay myself and they just haven’t come out with it yet so I found the cat surgery very difficult because of the lights is really really difficult. The nurse had to hold my hand. I found it difficult to keep my left eye open. They were operating on the right as well which obviously had to be open I found the whole thing quiteupsetting I had a needle biopsy in my head just after Easter and I’d have that down five times rather than Katrick surgery hasn’t made a lot of difference to me. Some colours are a bit brighter but I can’t distinguish between pink and red. I’ve spoken to the Macular society and the hospital and I think they may well have upset the sales at the back of the right eye so I’m not very happy. We go back to see them on the 6th of August my partner would come with me. I’m not overly happy about what happened. The surgeon did say he didn’t know much how much Vision I would get from it which is fine the hospital try to make out I wouldn’t need distance glasses, you know my reading glasses don’t work anymore. My magnifies are a bit dodgy now. I’m registered with Low Vision and partial Sight impairment but it’s getting worse. Thank you for this video.
thanks for coming to our school today. I really enjoyed all the activities and how it feels to be blind
Hi Shayn
@@BimIMissYou015oh hi
Thank you for the review! I didn't know they could put prescription lenses in the Rayban frame, I'm going to have a look at the Meta glasses now.
@@annem951 ok
My dr. Told me not to have ot done. My brother lives in a group home has RP they had him go threw the surgery I think it made it worse
Going threw mine being blurry
This is a crazy coincidence but my name is Austin and I was contemplating a TH-cam channel name. And I thought of the name Austin's amazing adventures and I typed it into TH-cam just to check and found this book LOL I guess the names taken
I have RP thinking about getting them
Looking for glasses that can assist with spacial (room) navigation. Perhaps using something like the SeeingAI app. Will these work for that? (father's completely blind)
So awesome! Have you been enjoying it? Any success use cases since? So excited for this as audio description glasses. What a great tool.
Sounds like you went the NHS route where one size fits all and any complications caused by the initial surgery will be treated at a later date?
Can you make video call using that glasses?
I’m vision imparted aswell and live in Australia and this could change a lot of people lives
That is so interesting, because as someone with low vision, I was thinking the same thing myself. I was thinking about how the ability to use large screens on my Mac could make things easier to see. Also was thinking about being more independent having a device that could warn me when the ground is even so I can better use my power chair.
After retinal detachment, I can not focus more than 3 or 4 feet, no matter what lenses are used. But with this sitting right in my "sweet spot", could I then see far away things in clear focus because I am seeing them right in my focus zone? Hmmmmm.....
Theres a new beta / preview upgrade available for these glasses with AI explanations etc etc. I wonder if it makes them any different or better?
I just saw that Apple is coming out with an upgrade to their accessibility. Where you can hold your phone and point with your finger at an object and it will tell you what it is. This would be fantastic is say your shopping and had the headset on and just point at say a soup can and then it will not only tell you what it is but you can blow the image up to huge size to see and read the can..or whatever.
Yes.
Definitely you have such a calming voice. I have started to write because of my sight .your poetry makes me feel less lonely
i hope you get to test it out soon. I would love it if you could make a video with recommendations of what you use in your daily life and what helps you (best gadgets). My father has very advanced keratoconus and he must put the phone sticking to his eyes to see. I'm not sure if there are some kind of glasses that can zoom in on everything and isn't bulky to wear for everyday life.
That is awesome
Can you take a picture of a page of text to transfer to your phone so the phone can read the text back to you?
Those look really cool it would be fun to try those I had cataract surgery on my right eye and it was a success now I'm waiting for cataract surgery on my left eye but I've been busy lately impaired up to this point my entire life the cataract surgery that I had on my right I changed my vision so much and I know it's going to change the vision in my left eye I'm not going to forget the experience on either end
I'm blind in one eye. I wondered if I will be able to use it. I can't watch 3D movies with one eye so I wondered if I will be able to use it. I have subscribed to your channel for more information in the future.
I can only see out of one eye and I have been able to use devices like this
@@DaveSteeleTheBlindPoet oh that's interesting! I also have one eye and wondering the same thing. Did you try the apple vision pro?
its different than other devices because it has two separate lenses in front of the two separate eyes
So I am quite afraid it's not going to work. They do a lot with 3d also
I’m visually impaired. Please keep us updated. Thanks
Thanks Dave for this video. I hope that this device can help us in the visual impairment community. Maybe you will get to try this out and then you can share with us your observations of how it can help those with visual impairment.
Are these also sunglasses? I mean will the cut down on the light from my photo sensitivity?
Thank you ❤
can this glass receive/make video call?
No but hopefully there will be more tech like this that will. I’m looking forward to seeing where the big tech companies take the future of wearable devices like these
Love this. Great job Dave, keep them coming! Hope all is well with you!
Great Video, SpyDad uses Ray-Ban Stories to make his videos on his channel. Thought I would share as an example of super fast way to use smart glasses and spy glasses. Here's the SpyDad channel th-cam.com/users/spydad
Im your new subscriber because of same case RP and cataract surgery. But the problem is i dont have enough money to get eye check specialist. I cant work when it happen to me until now since 2019 of december.
I have RP and i'll undergo cataract surgery,The result was so worsen until now my vision on my right eye were conduct surgery was blurry i cant see image. So if you have RP and cataract think before you undergo the cataract surgery.
Good afternoon mate. I have just seen your video for this, but how do I turn this feature on? I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and was really excited when I saw the video but nothing happens when I press the side button three times and I can not see this option under accessibility on the settings.
