Listened to your racism sermon----lets talk when you have time. Cheers--Evan
Wonderful service! Thanks to all who participated! Merry Christmas!
Fr. Matthew: I just listened to your sermon (Pentecost 21A) and enjoyed it very much. I think at the beginning you floated the question of what we get from church. For me the answer is easy: spiritual calisthenics. It gives me an opportunity to exercise my faith in something outside of me. I am the "Questioning Thomas." (I was born on his feast day.) We will never know what happened two thousand years ago, but what is true is that the Jesus message as it has evolved over these two thousand years is one that resonates with me. I am not a fan of virtual church, but given the chance for an in-person Eucharistic service, I'm in. I did attend Christ the Redeemer Eucharistic services outdoors at Gordon Conwell. It has now gotten too cold. I look forward to the return of some kind of normalcy! (P.S. I was (am) a Visiting Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul's. I really related what you said about visiting. )
