    Just wet your plants with water prior to use and the mixture won’t hurt them and if you want after spraying the mixture spray the plants down again with water from a hose to be on the safe side.

    Does 30 second cleaner get diluted like the bleach? Or just straight.. sounds expensive on a big fence if straight. Thanks! Edit, does this remove the old stain too? Or just the gray on the fence.

    • @BlissHomeGarden
      @BlissHomeGarden 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You use 30 second cleaner straight so if you have a big fence yes, it will add up. The cheaper option is the pool shock but someone here said it can still be expensive. Still cheaper because you can dilute that one. Another commenter said that all of them have bleach and additives. Someone else said that old mold is hard to remove with both of these options so if you have a lot of mold maybe test first before buying a whole lot of product and being disappointed or having to return a whole lot of stuff. I always suggest testing on inconspicuous areas. Hope that helps.

    Would love have to heard WHICH varieties are NON invasive & DON'T spread. ???

    • @BlissHomeGarden
      @BlissHomeGarden 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The FLEPPC (Florida invasive species council) recognizes the cultivars ‘Gold Mound’, ‘New Gold’, ‘Alba’ and ‘Patriot’ series as cultivars that are not known to produce viable seeds. Other promoted sterile cultivars include 'Miss Huff', 'Mozelle', 'New Gold', and 'Samantha' ('Lemon Swirl'). There are many non-invasive cultivars but the lantana cámara is the one that we should be careful with. That’s definitely invasive in many areas. Remember also that your location matters. In Florida and Georgia for example, it’s invasive bc it has too perfect weather and it doesn’t die down, it just gets stronger. Some colder zones don’t have the problem that warmer zones do. Hopefully this helps.

      @BlissHomeGarden Oh,Thank you for that! I had just brought home 3 different coloured lantana camara plants. I was just setting them down when my Mom's gardener saw them & said, "No, be careful w these. They spread!" So now I don't know what to do w them. 🤷 ..& I still don't have anything for the hummingbirds. ..that they like. Lol.

Thank you for your "honest" review, knowing the issues that crop up is super helpful👍 I have a raised deck that is about 3.5 to 4 feet above ground level and that means it is subject to strong winds and, more importantly, blowing rain. In the past, I've used shower liners to help block the blowing rain. It works, but quite honestly, it's not an attractive solution. This year I've been on the hunt for something more visually appealing and was looking at the Amazon waterproof curtain selection. It never occurred to me the curtains would snag. Think I am going to have to break out the sewing machine and am give waterproof drop cloths a try.

    • @BlissHomeGarden
      @BlissHomeGarden 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Do you mean the ones on the Eagleston hollies? People always ask about dogs and kids and well. Those berries are kinda hanging tall unless you grow it as a bush and yes they are considered toxic but the effects depend on several factors. For example, if you have a kid that eats a huge amount or a dog that eats them regularly. It also depends how large the dog and the kid are as to what effects it will have. If your kid is constantly eating berries off bushes you might want to double check. I haven’t had issues with my pets at all. I have a dog and a cat.

    Thanks so much - great video. I have a question I hope you'll know the answer to... I have taken out a large and very old cluster of papyrus and want to plant something entirely different in that place. How aggressive do I have to be in 'purifying' the dirt that was there? I've gotten out the rhizomes and all the roots I can see, and given the dirt an initial sifting - but if there are little bitty pieces of root left in that soil - like 1/2" long even - are they going to grow back into new papyrus plants in a few years? Do I need to dump all that dirt (??!!) and start totally afresh? Thanks for shedding any light on this that you can.

    • @BlissHomeGarden
      @BlissHomeGarden 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That might happen bc it happened to me after I removed this one. Good thing is you can easily spot them and remove them without much effort so long as they are new roots. It shouldn’t be a huge problem if you’ve gotten the big older roots out and you are vigilant.

      We planted an orange from seed and it never fruited. That’s why it’s better to use a graft because from seed it takes too long to fruit. When you buy plants from the nursery they’ve typically been grafted. We got fruit two years ago and now, but finally this year the fruit is awesome. We planted a baby loquat (from this tree) in the back. It is in its 2nd year with no signs of fruit.

      I have a spring garden tour video but I’ll also make one later this summer to show an update. They are growing beautifully. You can also see them in the loquat video I made recently.

    I love the eaglestone holly but I am worried about my dogs. I heard the red berries are poisonous to pets

      I can understand that however, I feel like when you google if a plant is toxic to animals just about everything comes up as toxic. Maybe check with a local vet to be sure.

    Thank you. That was very helpful information. We made the mistake of planting bamboo years ago. What started in a 5 gallon bucket, is now the size of house. Big mistake!

      Yikes 😳 about bamboo. I can only imagine. Glad this was helpful. 🙂

    Grew up with a loquat tree in the yard. The fruit was pureed and added to fruit/nut breads or eaten fresh. Will you be letting the tree get taller or bring it lower?

      how cool! I was thinking of trying another dessert with heavy cream and maybe even a cobbler (loquats instead of peaches) - having fun testing all the ideas. It's getting harder to reach the loquats so we did trim some and will have to assess after this year's growth. I kinda think it shouldn't get bigger than it is now, no need. How big was your loquat growing up?

    Hi, I love your videos. I researched about the loquat tea and it says that leaves should be dried. I also bought a loquat tree and live in Valdosta so I’m excited to see this tree bear fruit 🙏🏻❤️

      Lol - thanks for that tip and your comment. I will dry them out and try again. Maybe that will help. Hehehe. They fall down in wintertime, and they brown and don't look appealing for tea, but hey, I like to learn new things and experiment. Your weather is pretty similar to ours. My in-laws live in Tifton and they were over there growing papaya though it never had time to fruit before the frost came. The papaya tree came back as perennials each year. I sure hope you get some fruit too. I love it.

      @@BlissHomeGarden oh they are growing papaya tree ?? I would like to grow papaya also! Perhaps the tree doesn’t like the cold weather too much, like guanabanas. I have guanabana seeds and now growing 4 little trees since last year in a pot since it is my favorite fruit after passion fruit. Learning on tricks to grow them here in zone 9A since our winters are a tad intense, so for now I bring them outside from April-early October and bring them in next to my window from late October-March. So far they are thriving. If I ever grow papaya trees, I would grow them close to the house and use clear tarp with stakes around the tree to protect on winter with thick layer of mulch. I look forward to watch more of your videos. Stay blessed! ❤️🙏🏻

      @@Soy_Johana_Galindez you and me trying to get all this tropical fruit to grow in our US zones. LOL. I'm attempting a granadilla this year as well (from seed). I love passion fruit but didn't have much luck with that in a previous attempt. Yes, the winter is the deciding factor as it depends how mild or cold it gets or how well it's protected from the harsh cold days. Good luck!

    Fascinating! Never heard of it before. Does it taste like a peach? Now I want one! No space, but all that fruit!😋

      Thx. I guess it's like a combo between a plum and a peach. I was considering doing a loquat cobbler to experiment. It's tart if picked too soon and gets sweeter as it turns more orange. I also wondered how well they would fruit as a small tree in a pot. I have 2 babies in pots this year ready for the experiment.

    We have a variety of Lantana Camara called Hot Blooded Lantana. Is it sterile and non-invasive. The Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council recognizes the cultivars Gold Mound, New Gold, Alba and Patriot as sterile. Not all Lantana Camara are invasive, but to be fair, most of the above which are tagged as Lantana Camara are hybridized versions.

    Would hoa’s have restrictions on tree planting even tho is your backyard?

    • @BlissHomeGarden
      @BlissHomeGarden หลายเดือนก่อน

      You might have to check your HOA. Mine is almost non-existent. However, I do know that anything beyond my fence - even air space - so a branch going over on their air space is theirs. I planted these to where I could keep them trimmed like a wall and stays 100% on my side. If however, I were to let them go over to their side, they can trim them or do as they please. I’m pretty communicative with our neighbor and keep it neat and tidy at all times so we have no issues. That’s something to keep in mind for sure and consideration for how much work you want for yourself. As far as the trunk or roots, various landscapers told me they aren’t obnoxious or take over. Maybe you won’t want to plant them as close to your fence in your neighborhood based on your HOA rules. All cases are different for sure. Good point.
