      @@jasondelprado1562 Thank you! Not really, you need to go into town, which is at least 15 minutes by walk. Piraeus city center is around 20 minutes walk, although it depends in which terminal your ships dock, some terminals are closer to the center while some are about 20 mins walk. In Piraeus you can shop and dine, there are some landmarks too, but I highly suggest you get on a metro and go to Athens, the ride is only 15 mins. In Athens, get off at Monastiraki or Syntagma stations, and you'll be in the heart of thr city. 😇

They have high quality laether jackets, belts, shoes, bags and also genuine fakes of famous brands. I shopped in Turkey many times (Istanbul, Alanya...) and everything is of such a great quality that I still wear it and it lasts. :) I wish you a great time in Kusadasi!

    • @AdventourBegins
      @AdventourBegins 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jasondelprado1562 No worries😊 Yes, the Old Town is called "Kaleici". In Kusadasi, it is really easy, the Old Town is only 5 minutes walk from the cruise terminal. You'll see narrow cobbled streets lined with many cute shops, and also a large square with a mosque. This square divides the Old Town area and the Bazaar. Bazaar is the "market", it's basically an open-air traditional Turkish shopping mall 😇 When I was there, I remember I crossed the street upon exiting the terminal, and the entrance to the Bazaar was already there. The Bazaar is not so big, so you won't get lost. The Old Town area is literally 5 minutes from there, a little bit to the left as I remember. Everything is really easy to find, Kusadasi is small. If you have time, walk to the fortress, maybe a 10-minute walk, you'll spot it from the ship. I hope this helps :)

    • @AdventourBegins
      @AdventourBegins หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@steveee2511 I would recommend Dassia, it's a 15-minute by car from the port. If you go by bus, it will take you around 30 mins maximum each way. Dassia is the best beach that is closest to the port. From the port, to the main bus station in Corfu Town it's about 800 m. At the main bus stop, you take bus number 7 to Dassia (check this info but as far as I remember it's 7). I suggest you download some offline maps or buy e-sim card so you can be connected and check the maps. Bus no 7 runs every 15 minutes but it can be crowded and traffic can get congested. If you decide to stay only in Corfu Town, you have a little beach right behind the Museum of Asian Arts (I think I mentioned it in the video), but it's concrete and you use ladders to get down into the water. At the foot of the Old Fortress I also saw people swimming in a small marina. So that's an option too. I hope this helps, have a great time in Corfu!

      Hmm, difficult question lol :) I personally prefer Nice, I don't know why but I love the vibe there. :) Cannes is more glamorous and prestigious, it's got more beautiful beaches in my opinion. Nice has more beautiful architecture, it's a bit cheaper and better shopping. :)

      Hi! Hmm, not really sure about this because I haven't done it myself and I don't know the area that well (I visited Kusadasi only 1 day on a cruise ship). But I had a look online and here I found the info that the first bus from Selcuk is around 6:40 AM: ephesiantourism.com/selcuk-to-kusadasi/ As for ferries, you can find a few websites online, I found this one and it says there are departures in October: ferrytosamos.com/ I suggest you do a little research online before you make any bookings, it's got plenty of resources. Enjoy your trip! :)

    • @AdventourBegins
      @AdventourBegins 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! They are very cheap, in 2023 they were around 1.5 EUR one way. You can find them on the main road in Kusadasi, they are locally known as "dolmus" and they look like minivans. I've mentioned them in the video as well. The ride to Ephesus takes about 30 mins. Enjoy your cruise! :)

    The Museum of Messina is always overlooked but it should be at least among the first 2 reasons to visit Messina. It contains TWO paintings of Caravaggio and excellent works of Antonello da Messina and Montorsoli original Neptune Sculptures plus many very interesting archaeological artifacts of every era. It really is a GEM to not miss, it is the Biggest Museum in Southern Italy! People have no idea what that means nor what’s inside.

      @AdventourBegins 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for the suggestion, I will definitely visit it next time! I just checked and saw the museum is about 3.5 km away from the port of Messina, about a 10-minute drive. So art lovers definitely should not miss it! Thanks again for sharing this with us!

      @@AdventourBegins You are welcome! Since Messina was destroyed and rebuilt on its own rubbles over and over, that literally makes the whole city of Messina a whole archaeological site but that cannot be done because people still need a place to live in right? So they have put most of these findings inside the Museum. At exception of this Roman ruins located on the left side of the Town Hall; there you will find this antiquarium with multiple archaeological findings and the entrance to the archaeological site. I was a resident in Messina and in my honest opinion the city and the guides always fails to evaluates what we have. You are very welcome 🙏

    It is a very sad and disappointing thing to know that Mykonos, once the island selected by authors, painters, sculptors and people aiming to experience the natural beauty of this island that was a rather poor stronghold for pirates for centuries has now become a place where prostitution, drugs, alcoholism, rudeness and complete disrespect of almost any lawful behavior rules. Hotels, restaurants, beach bars and cafeterias charge exorbitant prices (usually without issuing any receipt), they employ young Greeks or illegal immigrants at monthly wages below (sometimes way below) the minimum wage, without any social security compensations and having them work 12-14 hour shifts 7 days per week treating them like slaves,, while beach bars and hotels occupy beaches charging ridiculously high prices for an umbrella and two chaise longues, forbidding people who are not willing to use them and pay for them from swimming in the beach (by Greek law all beaches are public and freely accessible to everybody). Much of the tourist economy of the island is in the hands of the Russian mafia and its oligarchs much of the supply of food, equipment and fuel a part of the building business is ruled by the Albanian mafia. Corruption runs high, as you can open any sort of shop almost anywhere if you have "the right connections" and you can build whatever you wish or can afford without feeling restricted by any building permits, Greek laws on the use of land or any public space demarcation. Local Mykonians, once happy and proud of their island, are questioning whether they are going to have the means to keep their properties on the island, are more and more threatened by the shady people that make Mykonos their summer residence and by the myriads of people landing on their island in the summer, as tourists seeing Mykonos as the paradise for heavy drugs, easy free and paid sex, wild partying and a chance to engage in any sort of extreme, unhinged nightlife "entertainment" of all sorts. Mykonos was recently characterized as the "Colombia of the Mediterranean Sea", if that adds a layer of description to the fast, sad and possibly irreversible disintegration of this very beautiful island. What a shameful waste!

    Love your videos. Going to stop in Catania on a cruise. 11 hours... shouls I plan a side trip? Taromina or Syracuse? Which would you suggest?

    • @AdventourBegins
      @AdventourBegins 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! 😇Yes, I would definitely plan a side trip, my suggestion is Taormina. Syracuse is also beautiful and historic, but Taormina is perched on a hilltop with stunning views. The ancient theater is spectacular with views of Etna in the background. So, my choice would be Taormina. Both places are well-connected to Catania by train, that's the most affordable option. You need about 3-4 hours in Taormina and you'll probably have some time in Catania since 11 hours is plenty enough. The port in Catania is around a 15-minute walk from the city center. Enjoy your cruise and let me know how it was! :)

    It a very sad, disappointing and frequently maddening thing to realize that this island, which used to be a serene and God-blessed place of beautiful beaches and rare architecture, where painters, sculptors, writers, poets and renowned architects from all over the world chose to visit and admire, has currently been degenerated into an overcrowded, shady place full of ridiculously expensive hotels, over-booked restaurants, exorbitant prices, exorbitantly reach ambiguous personalities and is ridden with wide spread prostitution, drugs and considerable tax evasion incidents. The majority of young Greeks that work there as waiters, cooks, drivers, cleaners, hotel staff, etc. are paid at or below the basic salary (760 euro per month), they are (illegally) not registered as workers, they get no social security, no insurance and they work 12-hour 7-day shifts with no extra remuneration or day-off. Black market and corruption are thriving while, with a little (or-not-so-little) money under the table you can build whatever you wish, wherever you wish with no respect to the urban planning provisions. For the local Mykonians and everybody working there, Mykonos has irreversibly become the Colombia of the Aegean Sea. What a shameful pity.
