Thanks much! Will do :)
Hey thanks for all your insights.
I have been meaning to watch this video for about a month now. Glad I finally did. The information is fantastic. Even though I’ve already been doing the ChatGPT thing. I usually tell it “explain it to me like I am a fourth grader“.
Your channel is such an inspiration! I'm just starting out with my own channel-please wish me luck on my journey.

Interesting topic and perspective. I have experienced a lot of isolation online and offline. At first it's easy and self-protective to withdraw, then it becomes habit, and then it gets more and more difficult to break out of it. And it's not just me or a few people - this is the experience of many. It's noticeable that young people find it difficult to engage in conversation with strangers or new acquaintances now. One thing that helps is to try to only engage positively with things you see online. Don't fight the things you hate. There will always be more. Boost the things you love. Engage deeply with your chosen hobbies and activities and let the rest of the world have its own preferences. It's much happier that way.
This is so true! The story of withdrawal and isolation is real. I think it also comes with younger generation not accepting hierarchical structure and demanding more of a flat organization. If someone is approaching you with authoritarian attitude, it’s much easier now to self-protect and redirect the focus to the work itself through working remotely. In this book, Nuclear Individuals, it introduced a story about “Oh, the senior employees? Yes, of course, I respect them. But, only for 5 min.”. It is caused by knowledge source being no longer limited to their senior employees, but from internet and other easily accessible sources. Therefore, the middle manager role is disappearing. Also, this reminds me of another book I read, called <New Type> (뉴타입의 시대). It was originally written by a Japanese author, Shu Yamaguchi in 2019. And, I read the Korean translated version of it (I don’t think English version is available). Basically, it says that people should have courage to walk away, as early as possible, from the organizations that we do not have aligned values with. Otherwise, we are feeding these organizations to grow further. Now, by tuning into connecting with positivity and finding the community of aligned values, everyone can experience the world more positively - as nuclear individuals.
@@withjaelinlee I have lived in Japan for years and had the opportunity to observe the culture as compared with my home country, and I'm also somewhat familiar with Korea and the challenges (crisis, I would say) it's going through socially. Different nations are responding differently to the 21st century...but we're all going through huge changes. As you say, we can now walk away from people and organisations who don't reflect our values. This is a huge power that we do have.
Interesting that you lived in Japan for years. And, it will be an interesting topic to take a peek into those responses of other countries. Yes, I am hopeful that not only the new generations, but also those of older generations to realize this power they have. And, finally they get to walk away for a fresh life (as now we have a longer life expectancy). :)
4:20 I really like this portion of the video. As you said, you don't need to be an expert at something to share your knowledge. Even if you are at day 7 in your learning journey, there is someone at day 0 who would value your knowledge and opinion, and possibly more so than they would from someone who has many years of experience. This is simply because we often seek to relate to people first. If you're only a few steps ahead, I can relate much more than if you're many step ahead. So documenting your learning journey from the very beginning is actually so valuable for everyone else. People tend to forget that!
Can’t agree more! It is also encouraging to people who are just starting out. Often than not, there is a larger gap between day 0 and day 7 than between day 7 and day 1000. Starting off is the hardest part. Because it requires an activation energy (like in chemistry). Once beginners jump over this massive hump, the rest requires much less energy. 😊
It's so lucky to hear Korean books by you in English it's precious that you make efforts for us ♥
That’s so sweet. Thank you so much, Abdullah! I have access to a Korean library here in Canada. And, I am travelling to South Korea later this year. It's so Great that you are book lover people who reads Books are so rear Now a days 😊
Would you like to read Novels?
Hey Abdullah, welcome back! :) So true. Especially paper books. There is a difference in quality of understanding when we read paper books vs e-books. Maryanne Wolf said in her book <Reader Come Home> that our comprehension and retention of knowledge is better with paper books. Our mode of reading e-books are more of scanning than throughly reading. I read 100+ books each year. So, I will share more of what I learned from books. Stay tuned! And, feel free to leave your book recommendation and why :)
I haven’t much. But, I started to get interested in novels lately. Especially short stories about future of human conditions. I recently read a Korean book <회색인간>, which puts human in different extreme situations and see how we may behave. It was so interesting because it made me question the idea of morality, fairness, technology advancement, and future. What do you have in mind?
@@withjaelinlee Books are Peoples best Friends and you are absolutely right the feelings you get from paper book during reading is never same at all with e reader or audio 🔉 books 📚 When you read with paper book the smell of pages During you turn the page 📄 all feelings are just Spectacular
@@withjaelinlee wow as you mentioned about Korean novel that you read it's exactly true humans are now in extreme situations technology Ai everything make the self centered no one have time for family or friends when i see group of friends sitting in hotel or park all of them are busy with their phones no one enjoy the moments nothing it's sad
This is true. You just gave me an idea.

Interesting.. using chatgpt for explanation.. why didn't i think of it tho ? Props to you. But beware chatgpt can give you wrong answers in highschool maths and physics problems..(almost 95% of the times i asked it to explain me a numerical or a question it did so but arrived at an wrong answer..better get it checked with your lecturer rather than gpt)
So true! ChatGPT is very bad at math questions. We also need to ask both sides of coins. For example, is honey good for health? And, is honey bad for health? So, we can check for biases and its tendencies to being too agreeable to what we are saying sometimes. Thanks for pointing that out! :)

Precious words ♥🥀
I like to share my story, which just happened yesterday. The interviewer asked me what is pass-by-reference and pass-by values. It was the topic I studied around two months ago but I didn't review it. But since I use a similar example to study, I can remember easily and also explain the example to give my answer 😁
Thanks for sharing Alex. It seems like you’ve experienced the less known secret ingredient for learning - Forgetting! When we are taking a break from a topic, our brain does the job for us, making connections. With the fact that you used similar examples to study after, it probably helped you with retrieving what you learned by active recall. Not merely remembering, but actively utilizing the memory with a slight variation for a new example. Feel free to share more of your positive learning experiences for others to get inspired from! We are all in this together :)

I have decided to learn for myself first , it doesnt matter exames or what ever , since then i never forgot Thank you for the informations
So glad to hear! Keep it up :)
Good information
I think i somehow completed phase -2 and is on phase-3 without actually reaching phase 1 so it's difficult for me to achieve phase -1 less motivating because those things seems not so important to me for my phase 2 and 3 but as i have to be in phase 1 in few years it is important
Thanks for sharing your journey, Shreyansh! It’s great to hear that you got to explore Phase 3 already :)
Question - choose what i am good at or choose what i should do to achive what i want , I acn achive what i want from what i am good at but very less chance than the one i should do
Whichever we choose, I think the most important thing is that we choose what we are truly interested in. It’s okay if you’re not good at it yet. As long as it interests you genuinely, you will become good at it sooner than later. If not interesting, at least try to explore ways to make it interesting. The wrong path is to choose something of no interest, but doing it because you should. It will create resentment and negative emotions which will leave a lasting impact.
These what ifs wasted so much time like I was daydreaming creating some random scenarios thank you so much for this video and yeah becominh aware and being in present is most important
Amazing vid, thanks for sharing I want to ask a question like i have some topic that i have studied but have good info about but i have to study then again so how to start bcuz starting them again feels little boring but I have to
First, I would look at the keywords/titles of each chapter of the topic. Then, I’d write down what I already know about it. If I encounter a question or if I am unclear, I’d start exploring from there. Another way is to quiz yourself on the topic first. Then, start learning about the areas that you got it wrong.
Thank you, will try my best.@@withjaelinlee
