Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Welcome 😊
thanks, could never figure these things out and you totally made it click for me
Welcome 👍🏻
You said you added silicone for the cells (I think you said hair something) but do you need to wash that off when dry like I'm reading alot of people do with their paintings done with the silicone added? Thanks!
Hi there! If I'm using dried pain skins, yes, I'll wipe the skin briefly with a non-oily baby wipe before I glue. If it's a dip, no, I don't clean it off but I do make sure that the pain adheres to the glass or otherwise touch it up with a finger dipped in paint. If there's any silicone pooling on the surface of the paint, it will prevent the paint sticking to the glass, but there shouldn't be any silicone pooling if it's done correctly (stirred into the paint before pouring). I hope this helps!
Would this work with just regular acrylic paints with nothing added?
To a certain degree. The Floetrol helps the paint to stay fluid and wet so that you can tip, pour, manipulate the designs and dip. Regular acrylic paint will lack the fluidity to do those things, although if you 'smeared' the paint into a design instead of pouring you could manage a similar effect. You won't get cells though.
How do you make the acrylic skins?
Here's a link to making a skin with the swipe method: th-cam.com/video/6RkvbXq9Ksc/w-d-xo.html There are other methods, based on paint-pouring techniques, which you'll easily find with a search here on TH-cam ;)
Aroura Borialis stone ! ~* = 8 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's very pretty, isn't it! I love how labradorite can deliver so many colours in the one stone 🤩
@@13Art Me too. I have a few nice specimines I want to have wire wrapped. ~* = 8 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😍 GORGEOUS (how's the back look 😉)
Thank you! The back is pretty neat, I'm happy to say! There's always room for improvement 😉
Beautifully understated.
Thanks for your comment! I can tell you for sure, it's fabulous in person 😁
I love this!!! That is art!!!
Thank you! ^_^
Can you show how to best cut the skins after the cabochon has been glued to it?
Hi there! I don't currently have a video of it but once the glue is very dry I simply cut around the skin and then trim the edge of the cabochon closely with a box cutter - carefully! Be sure not to cut so close that you cut away any of the skin that's visible from the top of the cabochon, otherwise the removal will be visible in your jewellery and distract from your overall design :)
Ty lol
Welcome!
What hair serum do you use to make cells please ,and thank you
Hi there! I use OGX Coconut Milk but it shouldn't matter as long as it has dimethicone in it (the silicone that makes the cells).
What do you use to make the "skins"? Paint? Nail polish?
Hi there! I use acrylic paint - feel free to join our Facebook group 'Acrylic Pour Jewelry' to learn about it!
Wax paper works well too!
It does, but it gets expensive to keep buying them! Nowadays I pour onto silicone mats and then move the skins on once they're dry :)
Last week l used a plastic grocery bag to mix colors and use a toothpick to transfer polish to jewelry pieces. This wk the polish blobs flaked off
@@13Art can l use these flaked off pieces as you do? Will they stay glued or flaked off.
Very thankful for your video! Great tips!
You're most welcome!
Hi I just watched your dipping onto cabochons, I loved the patterns on your mat , how did you achieve this , I'm new to this hobby and thoroughly enjoying it but don't know how to do this and plenty more . Thankyou , Ann
Hi Ann! There are a number of different methods you can use - here's a link to a video I did of the 'swipe' method: th-cam.com/video/6RkvbXq9Ksc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f6wgtBnOGcRRUR1C Feel free to join our Facebook group 'Acrylic Pour Jewelry' for more tips!
thank you so much!! this was so helpful
Glad it was helpful!
this is so annoying i'm scared i'm gonna break it but i'm gonna keep trying this
Hey, yeah it can be tricky at first but practise makes perfect! If you practise with the ball at the end of the chain, even if you break it, you only shorten it by that much, so it's not a dramatic break. If all else fails, I sell these chains in my shop if you need a new one :) www.13art.com.au
I know this is an old video but thank you for the tip on the diamond adhesive. I’m going to try the epoxy so I don’t ruin all my work. Thanks a bunch!! Your artwork is lovely
Glad it was helpful! There was a lot of effort and some tears trying to work it out 😅

Does E6000 cause silver spots?
Hi there! I have had silver spots crop up with almost every glue I've tried - including E6000. The least occurrences of silver spots have shown using 5-minute epoxy and Gorilla Glue Clear, so that's what I currently use :)
@@13Art thank you!
Wow! Absolutely unique and I'm stunned. I was looking for a cross with an ancient look, but your swords are amazing.
Thanks so much! I totally want to do some ancient crosses in the future :) Feel free to follow my socials if you'd like to see them when they are listed! linktr.ee/13art
Gracias por compartir tu procedimiento ❤
de nada!
Thanks you so much much, my friend put me a necklace of this type, he knew how to close it but not open it, i thought I would have this necklace for tue rest of my life! Thanks
Glad I could help!
if i wanted to attach a photo to the flat end of the cabachon could i use diamond glaze on the photo to do that and press it to the glass?
Yes, you could, however be careful what glue you use to attach the photo to the glass and the photo/glass to the bezel. In my experience, if both the glues you use are water-based, the one can soften the other and cause the photo to warp. I would recommend a) testing first before using your intended photo, and b) use a water-based glue for one adhesion (eg. the photo to the cabochon) and then use a solvent-based glue (such as 5-minute epoxy) to attach the photo/glass to the bezel :) Good luck!
thank you so helpful! one more question if i wanted to layer. so say my photo is heart shaped and my cobachon is circle. and i wanted to put a solid piece of paper behind the heart shaped photo and then glaze it to adhere to cobachon, would it be okay for me to just use a gluestick to apply photo to the paper, and then apply on whole thing? is there a specific glue to use to layer different papers and photos to one cabochon ,, THANK you so much! @@13Art
Very beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous
Thank you so much ^_^ Naturally, it's better in person!
Nice!
Thank you! It's a fabulous stone isn't it! It's amazing how they can portray other facets of nature :)
Did you take orders
Hi there, thanks for your interest! I only do certain designs as custom orders. Here is a link to the designs I make: Let me know directly via the website if you have any questions :)
I'm still stuck how to Open😭
Sorry to hear that! Keep trying! Sometimes it takes a bit of practise :)
This is a fantastic idea. Thanks for sharing. Do you seal it after if so what do you use?
Thanks! I seal it with UV resin if I am going to do a trayless pendant or if I am going to wire-wrap it. If I'm going to glue it into a bezel, then no, I don't seal it :)
I am new to your channel.. i dod subscribe and hit the bell I Really appreciate the hints to make the dipping easier and cleaner I love to make magnets .. and always end up having to use fingernail polish remover to clean the outside of them , after trying to lift them up carefully and end up getting pain on them… So I really appreciated this
Glad I could help! <3
How do you make that into anything, show that?
Cool idea! Where do you source the bangle? 😊
Thanks Patricia! I believe it was AliExpress. If you're in the US you could also try Hobby Lobby.
Thanks for sharing! Beautiful designs!
Thank you! Cheers!
What should I do if I accidentally broke it
Hi there! It depends on if there is still enough chain to be long enough for a necklace. Any of those balls can hold the clasp. But if it's too short because of where it's broken, you'd be better off buying a new one. I hope that helps!
I have solid copper ball chains in my shop if you need them :) 13art.com.au/product/solid-copper-45cm-ball-chain-necklace/
@@13Art thanks for the info, I managed to fix it
Am I weird if I find how she says cabochon absolutely cuuute 🤩😊
☺️
Thank you very much this video help me a lot ❤😊
Glad it helped!
for sealing into the pendant trays, do you use judikins glaze?
Hi Robin, at the time of this video I was using 2-part epoxy glue. Nowadays, I use Gorilla Glue Clear. I avoid water-based glues because I believe they soften the paint and cause it to wrinkle, thus causing the dreaded 'silver spots'. I hope that helps! If you're not already aware, we have a Facebook group called 'Acrylic Pour Jewelry' where we share our work and help troubleshoot problems. Feel free to look it up! It's a huge group and everyone's very nice ^_^
Can you tell us what products you used and where you bought them please? The glue, the sealer and the bail. Or bale. Whatever. Thanks!
Hi Renee! I use any brand of 5-minute epoxy - the only difference I've found is the level of smell. The sealer is a generic uv resin from eBay. It doesn't have a brand but the bottle is black with a navy label and mint-coloured pictures of leaves on it. As for the bails - I use many different ones from many sources! Some are alloy, some are stainless steel or sterling silver; different shapes and styles. Any will do - I try to match the colour with the paint (silver-coloured for cool colours and copper/bronze for warm colours). I hope that helps! :)
Is that gum or clay?
Hi Renee, do you mean the stuff on the end of the chopstick, that I use to hold the cab while I dip it in the sealer? In Australia it's called Blu Tac. In the US, it's called poster putty. It's for holding paper (like posters and photos) onto a wall. I'm not sure where you're from, but hopefully that will steer you in the right direction!
I also do the dipping, looks brighter than with skins😊have you ever had the paint peeling off the glass as there is no glue involved? You work is beautiful 🤗
Hi there! I have never had any issues with the paint peeling off and have been wearing my pieces regularly for years :) I have heard of people dropping their pendants on the floor/bathroom bench and it breaks apart, but that's unexpected damage so it's a different thing altogether. Thanks for your lovely words!
I searched in my videos but still I didn't got how to open but you helped me so much
Glad I could help!
Thanks!
You bet!
Amazing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻I'm your new subscriber👍🏻1
Thanks and welcome! ☺️
Can you use e6000
Hi! Yes you could. I stopped using E6000 early on because of the carcinogenic warnings on its packaging, but yes, it will work for this purpose :)
