Emma played fantastic yesterday for those who actually watched the full match.She's achieved more in her short life than most of these so called armchair tennis critics have achieved in their combined lives. There are areas in her game that could be improved on. But I am really really glad she has not pushed herself this year and played too many games. Just get fit. Stay out of the gym pushing those big weights we saw on her instagram - [worrying] just after the 2021 open win. I think 2025 is really looking promising. ps two of the players who beat her this year went on to win the tournament. She has also done so much for british and female tennis. I have always been opposed to women getting equal money in tournament's for two reasons. 1] men play best of 5 sets and women play best of 3. 2] Audiences tune in to watch stars. Usually men. However the women's game today is in my view is far more exciting than mens tennis - and draws in larger tv viewers. So perhaps women should get more money than men. Because of viewership. The fact they played this match at prime time in the US last night just goes to show the demand in watching her play. Any tennis tournament would be mad to not give her a wild card. Streamers like Amazon, Sky and BBC see a huge spike in their ratings when Emma plays. Money talks and bigger viewing audiences means a big surge on the profits. It was a great shame - shame she lost. If she won she would be playing Pegola on thursday who she beat a few months ago. That was an amazing comeback in the second set. In my sad amateur opinion the only thing missing in her game is improving her serve. And she should do more body line serving straight into the players body. And work on first serve more. Were talking marginal adjustments there. Such a talented girl.
