I travel the west, seeking out lost mines, photographing wildlife and exploring ghost towns.
St Marys Falls, North Cheyenne Canyon Park, Colorado Springs #coloradosprings #waterfall
St. Marys Falls are located in Buffalo Canyon, an offshoot of North Cheyenne Canyon in Colorado Springs. The hike starts at the Upper Gold Camp Road Parking Lot. You might find a few old gold prospects along the way. Gold Camp Road was once the site of the historic Short Line Railroad, which ran from Colorado Springs to the gold rush boom towns of Victor and Cripple Creek. The trains carried mining supplies and ore as well as passengers.
After the boom ended the tracks were removed and the route was converted to a toll road for cars. But in the 1980s the third of nine tunnels collapsed and the road was close. Tow of the other tunnels have completely collapsed.
St. Mary's Falls are best viewed in the spring, when snowmelt and the early monsoon season is running at full tilt.

Hey brother, any chance you can share any directions to the happy days mine off shoemaker. I’m a weekend warrior and I’m up at east fork pretty much every weekend. The main river is closed due to the fire but I still like exploring. I’ve been up and down shoemaker but haven’t seen any mines.
There's not much to the Happy Day mine, just a shallow cave like opening. It's not on Shoemaker Road, it's below it, off of East Fork Rd. You can see it on the left behind a ranch just after you drive over a bridge that crosses the river. To get there you have to park a ways back and climb down to the river at the bridge, then follow the river upstream. It will be on the left. Be careful not to go on the ranch property. If East Fork Rd is closed you probably won't be able to get there.
Oh, I think I might have been to that one already. You’re right, not much to see there. But if you happen to have anymore information on any accessible mines I’d be very grateful. I love it out there. The river itself is now a restricted area but shoemaker is still available.
p.s. you have a great channel. Keep up the good work.
It’s the day before the 2024 presidential election and this is still funny and True. Trump 2024
Qué paisajes!!!
Has all the earmarks of a Biden
At 8:54: I copied that painting and I did it well. Instead of Vincent I signed with my name "Wilhelm". And destroying art is a crime because it is destroying culture. Those "Just stop oil" f*cks are nothing but very overly aggressive and destructive a**holes. The amount of oil and energy to produce their shirts and their cups and the dirt they use and all their shit for their organization exceeds all savings of oil they could possibly make in their lifetimes. If they aren't idiots, then they know it.
So that last line aged badly. "Anyone but Biden" . Not sure that you meant kamelbrain instead. Dear God, please not her. TRUMP 2024, And I know it's a little early, but Tulsi 2028.
It's an old video. Who would have known that Democrats would be stupid enough to replace Biden with Kamala?
Gay fish 🐠 🐟
We should go exploring together
I brought one home from Mt Evans a few years ago. Sure tasted good!!!
Fantastic job 👏
TRUMP in 2024 GRADY JUDD in 2028
👍 yep!
What is the music that is playing, please.
Great exploration video. Looked hard as anything to get to. Can't help but feel annoyed at that "hermit Dave" who destroyed the historic cabin and now it looks like he is regularly looting the site. I don't know to what aim - surely the money he gets for the "scrap metal" is tiny. Do you think he is looting other mine sites too?
I hear that he found a pair of ivory dice in the dirt near the cabin ruins. A priceless piece of history. Fortunately he's gone now, and they say he cleaned up his act.
I remember when that tunnel collapsed, the springs area got really bad rain. Which is too bad, it was a beautiful drive going up that way to cripple creek and Victor.
There's still a long section of it open to cars near Victor, but unfortunately it doesn't go all the way through anymore.
I was guiding Rafting there, Gretings from CHILE
I probably saw you floating by. LOL

Great video mate. Is the original Carlton Portal still open? Asking for a friend 😉 Eb. QAM
I looked for it but never found it. Chances are it's gated.
it was so much better in the 70s. so much lees people. i wouldn't go there now.
I love how the physics and common sense of logic are thrown out of the window in this movie
Don’t care about who’s property! Give back the land and caves back to the animals that onced lived there! At least! Why seal up a home that was never your home!
Not anyone but Joe Biden (i.e. Harris). TRUMP 2024!
Beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Absolute gorgeous place to see, y'all can feel the Holy Ones about.. AHHH'HO
Gorgeous!
Western hognose snake, bull snake, wandering garter snake are the non rattlers in your video. Same I’ve seen here in New Mexico except the hognose, maybe what I say is a bull snake is a Great Basin gopher snake as well?
The great basin and bullsnakes are actually 2 separate subspecies of snake! We have both of them here in Colorado as well(:
Awesome video! As a Colorado Native and an avid herper just wanted to let you know the snake at 5:31 is actually a hognose snake (: very cool find and thanks for showing off part of our beautiful state!
Thanks for the info. I know very little about snakes but it's fun to search for them out on the prairie.
I used to be a wrangler at Academy Riding Stables 20+ years ago.
Cool video... I have seen most of the things in mushroom park.. but i did not know about the hidden bathroom is it in mushroom park also or another part of the park?
Very close to Steamboat Rock, which was once a part of Mushroom Park.
@Mine-Finder I did not explore over on that side to much... thanks
It pretty much pure intimidation. They are unwilling to risk serious injury or death because they have babies nearby. There's a Chance you may hurt their babies but if they get hurt or killed fighting you then their cubs will almost certainly die
🤣🤣 epic.
Bro casually found bigfoots footprint and thought we wouldn't notice
Wow, super good editing
All of that included Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings and all of the surrounding area sure looks like the remains of a giant cedar tree. Read Ezekiel 31 as a literal reading and look at all the like kind areas around the world including Roxboro Park, Eduardo Springs and the Flat Irons in Boulder. All them areas just mentioned sure resemble large pieces or shards of cedar wood.
What song is this?! Holy cow!
It's really sad that the government has destroyed everything we knew as kids in the name of preservation. It's been open for all the world to see for thousands of years and they have now put fences and side walks all over they are destroying my home and it sucks
I was born and raised here. There is another cave under the kissing camels. It's blocked off by bars now but your flying camera can probably get into it. There is also another huge set of caves across from the cave off the winds that we used to play at as kids
Thanks for the info. Hopefully I'll have time to do a video on Williams Canyon below Cave of the Winds soon.
If you support pedo jo or pedo Clinton, you are still supporting pedo policies.
Is that a Demon holding up that horrible grooming book for children? Look at its left hand, it looks like a claw!
I would like to say that this was t the second U.S. gold rush as the actual second began in Idaho springs Colorado in the 1850s however cripple creek did produce more gold,d than the Klondike and California gold rushes combined so that is why it is known as a big gold rush town ❤. Pretty sure you already know that tho :) thanks for this content
Good job. Encore!!
Got head at #6

These mines wont last much longer......Good job on the Video................JB
Lots of rattlesnakes there
I've only seen one inside the park. Tons of them out on the prairie on the southeastern side of town.
I've been going there for 14 years and maybe seen three? If you do run into one don't try and pet it, that's my free advice.
My mother lived in the San Gabriel canyon in 1938 with her two sisters, mom and dad. My grandfather was part of the San Gabriel dam construction crew. They lived south of the east fork bridge above the reservoir. There was a small school and cabins for all the workers families. She told me that during the 38 flood she saw all kinds of furniture and belongings being washed away by the flood. She told be she saw a mountain split in half which probably was a large landslide. I have a small black and white photo of the water level in the reservoir almost to the top. Fortunately the dam was completed just before the flood.
Thanks for the great history. A few of the items rescued from that flood are now located at the Azusa Historical Museum.
Joe Biden sucks and his whole administration.
Yeah the Bud light yeah that's what I'm talking about you drink too many you start wearing skirts right now I'm drinking a Mandela my opinion of best beer in the world f*** Bud light
