Using A V-Drum Bar Trigger As A Cowbell
มุมมอง 8914 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
An improv solo on my V-Drums using my bar trigger as a cowbell. I like to have a “digital” version of my acoustic set and I keep a cowbell above my snare. This simple bar trigger has been the best add-on (the other only being a 2nd crash) due to its versatility for effects, but also to help add that organic feel for those who are skeptical about electronic drums. #drums #drumming #drummer #drum...

Playing the backfire in A1 since 3 days great harp,i am a beginner but feel very comfy with this one making way more progress as with my first beginner harps
That's some good harp playing.
Thank you! This harp in particular is one that fits me like a glove.
I've done this for muted tones in the past a bunch of times . Cool to hear it done from another, too!
Yeah! I got the idea from @budmann! He gets some really cool sounds out of the harps I sent him and he was explaining that’s how he plays it, plus with an echo effect. So many possibilities with one little instrument!
Keynote please?
F2!
Looks like it is ideal for your playing style. 👍
@ Yep, it totally is. I find it very nice to play.
"That's not what I meant!" I'M DEAD 😂
I've been looking at the Black Fire's (to be obtained after I get my hands on a Boxcar, of course!) How do you like them? They seem versatile!!!
They really are versatile! Very responsive for fast plucking, but also very breathy and melodic, with a kind of robotic sound or this subtle scratchiness to it. I definitely will get more down the road! You would love one!
YES!! WONDERFUL tutorial!!! I shall be practicing this!!! (NOT on the Mohan's though, my lips get caught in the tight gaps😅)
Yes! This technique can pinch lips if you’re not careful!
You get some killer times out of that harp.
Oh yeah dude. I love this harp.
Where are they going?
Somewhere to cause trouble…
Do your best to avoid littermate syndrome with these dogs being so young. It just makes them harder to take care of and separate at an older age because they don’t see you as master anymore. Take care!
Not to worry, we are only puppy sitting 3 days a week for my mum while she is at work. So the rest of the time the one puppy is over at grandma’s!
@@BoxcarBetts that’s great. The dogs look well taken care of
Absolutely. We have been caring dog people our entire lives! We found these puppies on a Mennonite farm, so they have been very well taken care of since birth. They are such fantastic, good-natured dogs! ❤️🐶
Dayum this is very good! New sub keep goin💜
Thank you and thank you so much for the sub! This channel is all about musical fun so I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That sounds really good! If i understood correctly, you know how to make these?
Indeed you understand correctly! In fact, I made the one featured in this video. I have an Etsy store! boxcarharpcompany.etsy.com
Nice performance 👍
Each one went for a walk through a universe.
Almost sad when they return, except for the opportunity of a new journey!
I have a B1 Dream State and didn't realize the WEALTH of sounds I could still make from a bass. Thank you so much for this video! It's given me fantastic ideas!
And your harp sounds phenomenal!!!
Thank you so much maybe one day I can make one for you!
Ooh, is that a Mohan morchang? I’d love to hear your ideas. Will you be uploading more to your channel?
@BoxcarBetts Owning a Boxcar is most definitely on my list!!! I just have two more Mohan to acquire, then I'm done with morchangs for now and onto other countries' jawharps!
@BoxcarBetts I certainly will! As soon as I get past the nerves from uploading bwahahaha. I'd love to record playing along with a psychedelic song. I find that jaw harps fit PERFECTLY with psychedelic music!!! They're like natural oscillators!
Hammer! I want one

your telling me they had techno back then!! lol
Analog digital synth music!

🔵🟡⚫️🟢🔴 🇨🇦🎵🎶❤️🤘🏻🔥
New sound this time. 👍
I was playing with a bit of a breathing technique!
Pretty cool brother. You needa finish painting your ceiling
Pfft. Fuck that. That’ll lead to insulating the walls, running new lights… I’m just making jew’s harps here dude. Hahaha
-is your wife ok??
Yes my wife is quite okay With slight improvement every day. Albeit she’s painfully slow She’s hobbling fine, to and fro. She might have trouble Tying her lace And she would not win In a race. She can’t carry things down the stairs, She can’t carry things along in pairs. And when her knee starts to swell She just sits down until it’s well.
@@BoxcarBetts uh...is that a song?
Nah, just made it up right now.

Very Szilagy-ish. Love it!
🙏🏻❤️
😲 Hillbilly Techno!❤❤❤ I have no idea what to do with a mouth harp but i could listen all day! Nice work, look and sound great!
Thank you! And really, it’s not that tough to learn. If you’re interested, I could point you in the right direction for resources and choosing your first harp! www.theharpery.com is an excellent starting point, carrying affordable and good quality harps for all skill levels.
I’d question the sanity of anyone who wouldn’t enjoy that one.

Jews Harp
Holy Jesus! You're a badass!
😎
Wow that sounded nice and I really like you're Jethro Tull t-shirt
Thank you! And yeah, I LOVE that shirt. I’ve seen Tull several times and got that one at one of the shows.
What is it
It's a jaw harp
Yep, also called mouth harp, jew’s harp, juice harp, and any other multitude of regional names depending on what part of the world the harp comes from.
I sed to play these as a yound lad. Oh man, craving dulcimers, wash bass and the one strong bass now, thx a lot. Appreciate others are continuing the tradition, thank you.
That’s awesome. I’m glad I could drum up some good vibes! You should pick one up again!
Nice made,looking good,sounds good 👍
Thank you very much! I love making them. I get better at it each time.
Das is der Hammer, very nice tones
Thank you! 🎶🎵⚒️
How can I buy it?
Here! Note that $11.11 is for the case. The harp itself was about $50. www.theharpery.com/drymba/323byofnzhv1r5z4nucte0ns5org5b
@@BoxcarBetts thank you 🙏
Nice display 👍
Love the way you’ve been tapering the decks towards the trigger, gaps are looking great too!
Aw shucks. You noticed! Yeah, I definitely like the more pronounced taper rather than just knocking the corners down at the end. That was inspired by Shaun Jones and Martin Oberta and is something I think I’ll keep doing! It adds a bit more elegance.
@@BoxcarBetts it’s awesome that you’re taking inspiration from great makers while still keeping the signature “boxcar” style!
Another good one. You sure build some nice harps.
Thank you! I sure try to anyway. I never would have guessed I’d be making them for people one day!
Sounds very good
🙏🏻❤️🎵🎶
Oh my gosh, you CRUSH the kick!!! How long did it take you to learn that method? Also the harp looks and sounds SICK!
Thank you so much! It didn’t take me too long because I approached it as a drummer learning a rudiment. I think it was a Meisterjann video that really helped and Olena Utaii has a good video explaining the horse “clop” sound, which I utilized and developed. Start slow, then get faster once you know how the stroke is made, how to mute/accent it, and when. I plan on making some tutorials one day!
@@BoxcarBetts I've seen that same Olena Utaii video!!!! I haven't heard of meisterjann! I'll look into them!!!! Ahhhhhh! That's what gets me everytime! I have such difficulty astarting slow but I'm finding it REALLY helps when trying to form a strong foundation. This conversation cemented the concept!!! I would LOVE some tutorials! I'll definitely be looking out for them!
@@Hopelesslyhype Stay tuned!
Nice 💖👍🤣
What is it?
The general English terms would be jaw harp, mouth harp, or Jew’s harp, but in Ukraine they are known as a “drymba.” Ovcharenko is the name of the maker and “Molfar” is what he called the harp.
I have a russian one, from the Krasnojarsk area, and i am also happy about them.
I need to expand my collection from Russia. I have one vargan by Glazyrin and that’s it.’
Very good!!!
Thanks! 😎🎵🎶🤙🏻
Dig the use of the muting.
