Someone is selling me an 86 MC SS but it has an 87 rear bumper and taillights, he said it’s probably a later 86 model, this doesn’t make sense to me. I’m pretty sure the rear changed after 86

hammer a chisel into the top to make a groove. then just use a screwdriver. you can use the chisel to bust it loose if its stuck in to start.

I've had to do something similar before and you basically chisel out the wood around the top of the screw and then once you're there you can use pliers if you need to. Since everything's already damaged that's probably your best bet.

Hey Andrew, if you want too you could take your cables off the battery, put some dielectric compound in, put the cables back on, and could even cover the outside of the terminals, alot of people just use grease which I found out doesn't work very well, the the dielectric works great.

I’m guessing a bad starter. Try lightly tapping the solenoid of the starter with a rubber mallet

Might have something to do with the battery, check to make sure you got good connections/ enough volts going to where they need to go

Hey Andrew, great fix. I have a zero turn, but i find that where the pulleys are( that eventually hook up to the blades on the opposite side of the deck) gets caked up with grass and dirt. I also found out my blades were wearing out prematurely, and the cause of that was the constant buildup of grass and dirt getting stuck to the underside of the deck. When i cleaned the deck out( scraper and pressure washer) the stuff i scrapped out was as hard a concrete, and the blade kept rubbing away on that. I just used some silicone spray and no more build up under the mower deck

Oh, i think the bearings have to press fitted, dont think they are suppose to just slip on. I know when i had to change the bearings on my truck, i had to use a bearing drive kit, but if you have a big enough deep socket the same size as the smaller part ( inner) part of the bearing, you should be able to just tap the socket( or a piece of pipe that diameter) lightly, it should go on with a little bit of friction, you want that part of the bearing to be tight against the axle, that way the bearing is actually turning, not the whole bearing turning which would wear out the axle. Looks great though!

Nice job! My mechanic says he has to drop the transmission to do it, to reach the lines on there. I see you didn't do that. I also saw on YT, someone cut an access square inside under the dash on the passenger side, to get access, then sealed it back up, no removing trans or anything else, easy access to the clips too.

Hey Andrew you can always lengthen the key slot, just use a dremmel or a angle grinder with a ' new ' grinding wheel as it has square edges. Dont use a used grinding wheel as it will be rounded. Use a new one :)

When it comes to harbor freights middle brands you have to be careful because they usually have stuff that will rival their top brand.....also theyll have stuff thats just retooled from the lower brand, and that particular set is a little bit cheaper and I believe that it is just a retooled Pittsburgh. I was there the other day looking at the two sets next to each other and they are completely identical.

Hey Andrew, darn darn darn, its okay though. I definitely know you will come up with a solution. I do like your second thought the best about cutting off the very front. I dont think I would risk cutting it back all the way to where the motor mounts, turning the front piece around then welding that back on. Sure sucks about the guy backed out selling you the motor. I would also do the 2 1/2 in tube in the front. I would get the back figured out first for brakes, widening etc then tackle the front. Just my thoughts
